Before Haven: Marrisa was born in Milian, Italy, but moved to America shortly after the death of her two year old brother Joel. Officially it was reported as an accidental drowning, though Marrisa is unaware of her father's dubious ties to the Italian Mafia and that the death of her brother may very well have been to send a message to him. The incident however did not leave Marrisa without scars, the trauma of the six year old girl finding her brother floating in the pool lifeless triggered the dormant angelic blood within her, the empathy overwhelmed the girl and gave the excuse needed for the family to flee Italy. Since then she was raised in a strict sheltered home, her every move watched by her mother and father, she was sent to a strict private Catholic school where the nuns and Priest became aware of her empathic and angelic nature, often torturing her by making her pray with obsidian rosaries or using desires to sway the child to do as they wished. She suffered from abuse at the hands of the priest but rarely talks about it unless triggered.
