Nobody else came close, and in several lines nobody else turned up at all.

Start with operations. The Hand created 4 and attended 3. No other society logged either. Resources: The Hand 35850, The Order 1410. The Wildwood Collective and The Temple logged none. Alchemical resources went to The Hand alone, at 840. Roads built, 63, also The Hand's. Nobody else built any.

The task counts are tighter. The Hand ran 7 arcane tasks. The Order and The Wildwood Collective logged 1 each. On diplomatic tasks The Hand logged 8 and The Wildwood Collective logged 1. The Order logged none.

Out-of-town missions are the one place the field shows up. The Hand made 3 trips. The Wildwood Collective made 2. The Order made 1.

The Temple logged nothing in any tracked category. Population stands at 1.

For scale, The Hand has a population of 11. The Order and The Wildwood Collective have 5 each.

That is the board. Read it as you like.

Six Haven contractors, one professor, one van

Word is a black SUV with blacked-out windows went round Haven on Saturday night and picked up six contractors one at a time. Callum, Christopher, Concepcion, Liesel, Serena and Sevaht. Two tattooed Syndicate hires drove, said they were being paid to make sure nobody fucked it up, and said it would cost double if things went south. The cargo was a professor at Brown University, Giddings House. People who were there say the plan was an academic cover story, a library badge, a research paper and a lot of talk about folklore. Callum undid a few buttons of his shirt. Sevaht put on a Texan accent. Liesel stayed with the office, working the earpieces and the faculty directory. Serena kept the professor talking. Then he ran for his office and walked in holding a gun. He did not look like a man who wanted to use it. Concepcion shot him with a tranquilliser dart. Christopher choked him out. They took a few things from the office, including ledgers and a USB. He asked if they were from PETA. That part is being repeated everywhere. He also tried talking Serena into freeing him, which is why nobody was meant to look him in the eye. After that, two of them walked him out like a drunk, and the SUV took him back to Haven. Sly himself is said to be handling the interrogation, and the price went up again. Kay told the group the next payment was due by morning or it would triple. Nobody agrees on how it ended.

Lillian Teaches the Room to Fear Mages

Lillian ran a seminar in the Latin classroom and opened with a rule: phones away or earn a tech hex. Most of the room complied. Christopher left his face-down on the desk, recording. Then she walked the class through the three Circles, Black, Red and White. Kai called the Red the best circle. Lillian told him there is no best circle and that it is a childish view. She called Red fence-sitters and centrists, and said it like a slur. Aurelia, meanwhile, was already arguing it was about balance, not morals. Callum answered the question about mages with no Circle with the word homeless. Agnes smacked him in the back of the head. Liesel counted it on her fingers. Lillian then asked what you do about a hex. Kade's answer was violence, then a telephone pole, then dogs or spiders, then a train, with him watching to see if they survive. Lillian told him that plan only works if you are the biggest fish in the pond. Homework: a successful shadowwalk ritual for the practitioners. Two admitted they are practitioners. The talk turned to full moons and Vesper House. Lillian offered extra credit for leaving food and drink where the road meets the woods. Maria is wondering about leftover pizza. Kai stayed behind to ask Lillian about an apprenticeship. She asked him to explain himself.

Werewolves Win, Seer Burned First

Serena hosted a Werewolf night in the chill room of the Chill and Fill Snack Express, and it was worth the cold. Six played, two of them wolves, with Serena moderating and Callum sitting out. The cider was free and the pigs in a blanket came from a bakery in Boston.

The first vote went to Graham. He used big words, Christopher called him a witch, and Sly started the dogpile and then voted for Karma anyway. Graham was burned in the town square. His role ticket landed face up. Seer. The village had just torched the one player who could see.

Sly died that night. Concepcion said his scream sounded like a little girl, which he did not enjoy. Kai called it final girl lungs.

Then the village turned on Maria. Christopher accused her twice. Logan voted against her too, citing a pact with Karma. That made four votes for Maria and one for Christopher, and she was drowned in the town well. The werewolves won. Christopher ended the night howling at Karma and Logan, and Logan got a bite of pig while he was at it.

Sevaht applauded. Karma half-asleep applauded. Serena curtsied and told everyone to take pigs home. Nobody asked who put the seer on the pyre.

Printed on a borrowed machine.
