Alexandras White Oak Combat Training 240208

In a glass-domed sparring arena at Camp White Oak, amid the dense mist and chilly weather, Meridith expresses her desire to expand her fighting skills and possibly learn to use a sword, feeling uncertain about her focus in combat training. The atmosphere is casual yet competitive, as Caelum, with a fanged smirk, tapes padding around his swords, lamenting the absence of weaker students to "mop the floor with." Sienna takes a seat on the sidelines, offering Meridith both light encouragement and a playful response to Caelum's bravado. As Alexandra prepares to leave the arena to the students, Caelum generously offers Meridith his padded swords, opting to spar with a knife instead, setting the stage for a lighthearted yet earnest clash of skill and wit.

As Alexandra directs another attendee, presumably Viktor, to get sparring equipment and leaves the students with a reminder for safe travel back to town, the interaction between the characters takes a curious turn. Meridith's surprised realization that Caelum is a vampire leads to a humorous exchange, with Caelum denying the existence of vampires and Alexandra quipping about Caelum's "skin condition." The conversation shifts to talk of finding a sword in town, and Sienna introduces herself, sharing her name and a little insight on where to acquire weapons. Meridith delightedly confirms her identity, recalling seeing Sienna at a basketball game, and the scene concludes with well wishes and playful banter as they discuss the prospect of enduring the sun, looking forward to future training, and hinting at a more personal event for one of the characters—a honeymoon.

In a Glass-Domed Sparring Arena for Camp White Oak
This glass-domed sparring arena looks similar to the biodome at White Oak Institute, just on a much smaller scale. The door to the north is the only way in or out and is meant to be closed during sessions. The open nature of the glass dome allows for participants outside the dome to watch the matches within the dome. Very little cover resides inside the dome, but padded mats cover the entire floor to help soften landings.

It is afternoon, about 8F(-13C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds. Ankle high mist flows through the area.

Meridith nods. "I could...um, use a weapon. I have some taekwando in my back pocket, but I haven't really...known what I should focus on," she confesses to Alexandra.

CaelumMeridith's look is met with a smirk, one too fanged, with tape in his mouth that he bites off around the hilt of his sword to secure some padding. It doesn't linger while he picks up his other sword to repeat the process. "It's a shame we don't have some puppies in class this time. I was looking forward to mopping the floor with Jodie."

With a muted noise of discomfort, Sienna gingerly tucks herself down into a squatted seat along the edges of the arena, arms lazily looped across the top of her knees. She idly listens to Alexandra, though Meridith's words are met with a sidelong glance. "Well no time like the present to feel things out here and now under the watchful eyes of the combat savvy, right?" she beams with light encouragement, only to give a quiet snort of amusement at Caelum.

As if Sienna's amusement is a chastisement, Caelum stacks on to his earlier words, towards Meridith this time rather than out there. "I'll go easy on you, though. Here to learn and all that."

Meridith groans at Sienna. "I get the sense people are gonna like watching him toss me around," she complains. She peers and raises her fists up. "Well! Good, at least these ones I'll get back up from safely, but...if anyone has a sword I wanna try it!"

"Jodie is no longer a student at White Oak," Alexandra says bluntly, with no hint of remorse or emotion at all in her tone. She closes the action on her rifle. "I was going to offer something of a safety lecture on the arena, but, since everyone is getting into the spirit," she says, shrugging her shoulders. She motions for Sienna to come with her and says, "Let's step out and give them the arena."

"I'll never say no to an opportunity to watch a spar, but it's definitely not evil secretly hoping you get thrashed vibes from over here," Sienna calls in support of Meridith, heaving a groan of compliance as Alexandra beckons her. "Oh-kaaay."

"Really.." Caelum muses that bit of revelation from Alexandra with a thoughtful look aside. Both blades in his hands, he taps the ground with the tip of one idly, thinking, "I shouldn't be surprised." Then a shrug of one shoulder towards Meridith follows, "I left my spare at home, but if you want some advantage." Caelum flips his blades, one by one, to catch them by the business end, and holds them out to Meridith. "I'll use a knife."

Meridith sticks out her tongue at Caelum as he regards the sin. Then nods. "I'll love to do a little more fighting with you, you'll make a good benchmark on my way to the top!" she pumps her fist but appears more joking than sincere. She gazes over to Alexandra as she speaks and hesitates. "Uh, getting lost on the way here is pretty worrisome," she adds regarding the mention of Viktor. She nods to Sienna and smiles in return helplessly. "I mean...I'd always love a little more practice but I guess I need to sort out my own gear. Where can I even buy a sword in this town?" She laughs, as if realizing how ridiculous that sounds.

Alexandra points to the northwest toward the man there. "I will get him setup with some sparring equipment," she says to Meridith with a small shrug of her shoulders. "Check back in a couple days. He'll need some time to get everything ordered."

"She wanted to, but I realized I'm terrible at knowing when to stop, and I don't want to cut her again." Caelum tilts is head as if to point at Meridith, pumping her fist and everything. But it's Sienna flipping him off that makes him smirk, though, shake his head. Seeing as that's that, however, he lowers his blades and dresses himself again with the clothes bundled within his chainmail. The armor itself is thereafter used as an umbrella, held stretched with both hands over his head to block the sun. "It'd be great if you can find me a sparring partner, but.. I'm going to combust if I stay out here any longer."

Meridith blinks at Caelum. "You're a vampire!?" she blurts out suddenly.

"Slander." Caelum chides Meridith, "Vampires aren't real."

Alexandra laughs quietly behind her mask and says to Caelum, "It is always fun making you be out and about at this time. But the more you endure, the better prepared you'll be to one day walk under the sun again one day." She looks aside toward Meridith and says, "He just has a skin condition," nodding toward Caelum as he answers.

"Maybe it'd be a good idea to check on Viktor and make sure nothing nefarious got a hold of him?" Sienna recommends to the small group aloud, only for Meridith's sudden outburst to earn a sharp look in her direction. "Well I'm pretty sure you could find some good quality tactical blades at the Hunt and Hook back in town, or in some more particular discerning spots if you find a good tour guide. Not my particular area of expertise, alas." There's a beat, then she offers over in introduction, "I'm Sie, by the way. Sienna Swann."

Meridith gasps! And beams cheerily. "Of course!" she insists, though clearly believing otherwise. She cocks a grin towards Alexandra and nods. "Yes! A terrible awful hideous skin condition," she admits. Then nods to someone. "Oh, yes, Meridith if you didn't catch it, I think I saw you at the basketball game."

Meridith blinks and nods towards Sienna. "Oh, yes, um, hi! Nice to properly meet you!" she insists as Sienna walks over. She gives her her full attention.

"Sun allergie-" Caelum stops, tilts a look at Meridith with a pensive knit of his brows, "..That's a few too many adjectives, but I'll let it slide for cutting you up." Then he shakes his head - steps closer to Sienna while keeping that make-shift armor-brella up above. Except, he really just moves - because Sienna steps away to Meridith to where he just vacated. "I'm not sure I'll ever get used to being out and about in the sun, but I'm trying." He answers to Alexandra instead. "..At least there is always the shade."

Alexandra gets out her phone to send off a quick message, then looks back at the students for a moment. "I'll check on Viktor. Mister Cross, ensure the ladies make it back to town in one piece," she says to the group, giving a small nod before turning to head out of camp.

Meridith waves at Alexandra. "Thank you for the class!" She insists.

Alexandra says "See you all next week, perhaps."
Meridith smirking mischeviously at Caelum she tips her head. "Sorry, it is of course a joke, you are extremely beautiful," she confesses guilelessly.

"Yes, ma'am." Caelum hits his heels together - but without his usual combat boots, it doesn't have the militaristic oompf. "Have fun at your honeymoon."
