Caelums Odd Encounter Sr Caim

In the Reception of the White Oak Union, a conversation unfolds under the delicate tension following a curious and dangerous incident. Aristotle and Avi have regrouped, and Aristotle, filled with concern, reaches for Avi but turns his attention to Caelum. He asks about Lexi's well-being, revealing the depth of the relationships within the group. Caelum, absorbed in his phone and visibly burdened by the recent events, shares that Lexi was deeply affected by an encounter with a menacing tree that had wrapped around her leg. This image alone paints the scene with a sense of the supernatural or uncanny abilities within their environment, leaving an imprint of concern on Caelum's expression as he recalls the effort to free her from the tree's grasp.

As the revelation settles, Aristotle expresses regret for not being able to assist Lexi in her time of need, referencing his own mental disorientation caused by the same tree when he attempted to aid another friend, Tabitha. His plan to check on Lexi the next day signifies a caring nature, though he acknowledges her likely desire for solitude. Avi then weighs in, reflecting on the group's lack of preparedness for the full range of the tree's powers. There is an acceptance of their misjudgment and a shared commitment to be more vigilant. While the narrative does not expound on the surreal incident's broader implications, it is clear that the event has left a lasting impact on the characters involved, uniting them in their concern for one another and their acknowledgement of the need for caution in the face of uncertainty.

In the Reception of the White Oak Union
The Union serves as the gateway to the rest of the campus and facilities
therein. Less a building and more the seamless fusion of the two adjacent
structures, the space is styled as a plaza with office space lining both
sides.

The plaza provides space for administrative offices and important communal
areas such as the lunch room, bookstore, and library. It's also home to the
Haven Sheriff's Department, the deputies of which assist with school security
and community outreach when their other duties permit.

Residents otherwise unassociated with the Institute come and go through the
Union, unmolested by security or staff, many on the way to the clinic or
library.

It is about 45F(7C) degrees.

Once they find themselves back on familiar grounds, Aristotle settles beside Avi. He's reaching to claim his hand, but his next words are for Caelum. "Lexi alright?" He wonders.

"I don't know." Caelum answers through his one-handed thumbing at his phone. It slips into his pocket not long after, while he turns his head at Aristotle. "She.. was pretty shaken by that tree. It wrapped around her leg, tried to go up." A pause, where he looks away, brows knit. "I cut it off, but she was still clawing at it for a while."

There's a deep frown forming at Caelum's words, and Aristotle nods. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to help her." He genuinely offers. "That tree kinda... fucked with my head when I went to help Tabitha." He explains. "I'll check in tomorrow. I know she probably wants to be alone right now."

"I do feel guilty that we didn't like...consider that possibility," Avi says, of the whole breadth of the trees abilities. "But at least we know better for next time."
