Alexandras Ghost Banishing 240323

In the chill of a snow-covered Arkwright Cemetery, Alexandra and her companions found themselves embroiled in a ghostly showdown of epic proportions. The eerie tranquility of the snowfall was shattered by the haunting melody of a piano, signaling the arrival of three spectral pirates adorned in an amalgamation of ballroom and pirate attire, each armed with ominous weapons. Alexandra, caught off guard, became a target when one ghost used its ethereal knives to pin her in place. Ryan, completely oblivious to the unfolding chaos, arrived bearing coffee and was swiftly thrust into the role of makeshift exorcist. As spectral bullets flew and Alexandra's attempts at defiance were met with phantom shots, the scene teetered on the brink of disaster.

Courage and quick thinking prevailed, however, as Ryan stumbled upon a chant from a ritual book, embarking on an impromptu performance of sea shanties to keep the specters at bay. Meanwhile, Alexandra, despite being physically and spiritually battered by the relentless assaults, managed to guide her allies from her compromised position. Jodie, though jumpy and overwhelmed, executed Alexandra's precise instructions to draw a protective circle and light candles, contributing blood to fuel the ritual's potency. As Ryan's chanting reached a feverish crescendo, the ghosts, now bound by the ritual, began to convulse wildly before being forcibly banished back into the soil of the cemetery, leaving the living trio to process the aftermath of their harrowing encounter. The pivotal moment of defiance against the spectral invaders was a testament to the resilience and resourcefulness of Alexandra and her unlikely crew, who emerged from the encounter with a deeper bond forged in the spectral flames of adversity.
(Alexandra's ghost banishing)

[Fri Mar 22 2024]

On the Sprawling Hillside of Arkwright Cemetery

It is morning, about 24F(-4C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds. It's snowing.

A haunting piano melody suddenly creeps over the graveyard as one by one, three spectral forms raise up into sight. Each is somewhat decayed and dressed in a mix of ballroom gown and old pirate garb, one wields a pair of flintlock pistols, another a wicked cutlass and the third a pair of sharp looking knives.

"What the flying fuck." Jodie breathes out under her breath as she focuses in on the three ghostly figures. She narrows her eyes and flexes the knuckles on her hands into fist as if there might be a need to throw hands during this. "Your first thought was right, I have no idea what to do."

The dual-knife wielder disappears before her arms suddenly emerge from the ground, stabing into the feet of Alexandra to keep her in place as the cutlass wielder swoops forward.

Waving as he walks in with two cups of coffee in hand and a bag from the cafe, Ryan gives Alexandra a big smile as he says, "I brought you some coffee, honey."

Alexandra is currently in a fight with ghosts, one ballroom pirate has stabbed her in the foot to pin her down while another with a cutlass swoops in to try to decapitate her!

In the midst of a spirit banishing Jodie seems shocked when a pair of ghost hands reach out of the ground to stab Alexandra, there is a delayed reaction before she goes, "Hey piss off ghost!" and tries to kick at the hands only for her foot to phase straight through the etheral form. Meanwhile Ryan arrives, totally clueless

"Oh shit!" Ryan says as he sees the manifested ghosts, startled as he crouches down to set the coffees down, spilling a little as he drops the bag from the cafe. He rifles through his bags to find a ritual book, flipping through it quickly as he attempts to find any ritual on ghost banishing. "Uh...um...hold on, I got this!"

The flintlock wielder unleashes a stream of spectral bullets, somehow not needing to reload as the group is forces to drop to the ground to avoid getting struck.

Since Alexandra got stabbed by a ghostly knife, Jodie is really on her guard and so when the bullets come she hits the deck and goes, "Get down!" as she covers her head like it was a real shooting.

Already crouched down and flipping through his book, Ryan yelps and falls prone as he finds a passage, "Okay, okay! Let's see." he reads through some passages as he says, "It says they can be distracted by singing a shanty! Uh...here's one!"

"Come get your dudes in order,"

"For we're going to leave tomorrow,"

Heavy away, me jollies heavy away!" Ryan sings."

"Come get your dudes in order,"

"For we're going to cross the water,"

"Heave away me jolly boys, we're all bound away!" Ryan continues to sing as he glances over at Alexandra and her swashbuckling and nods, "That works too! Just need to keep them distracted and tired."

Alexandra's shoulder suddenly burns as the flicklock wielder materializes long enough to fire a shot into her, there's no visible wound.

"You are lucky you are so pretty, dear," Alexandra says to Ryan after the shanty singing, shaking her head and looking for an opening to get back to her fallen ritual supplies. She snatches up what she can and then she falls over from the impact of the bullet to her shoulder. "Damnit!" she cries out as they seem to be focusing on her. Her left arm starts to sag as it goes numb from the chilling spectral cold. She curls in on herself for a moment to try to push away the pain, then says toward Jodie, "Draw a circle on the ground. Put a star in it. Five candles on each point. One in the middle. Light them." Then she rolls away from the supplies and tries to get back to her feet to face off with whichever pirate is apparently gonna come for her next.

Ryan yells out in song,

"Sometimes we're bound for Liverpool"
"Sometimes we're bound for Spain"
"But now we're bound for St. John's town"
"To watch the girls a-dancing"

"Now it's farewell Maggie darling"
"For it's now I'm going to leave you"
You promised me you'd marry me"
"But how you did deceive me"

He crawls over to Alexandra and pulls out a bandage from his bag, checking over her shoulder as he looks confused at the lack of a wound, "What the fuck?""

Jodie looks briefly panic'd and unsure what to do till Alexandra gives her instructions. She gives a look of concern to Alexandra when she's hit but upon realizing she's uninjured she gets some confidence to get up and begin drawing a circle in the dirt with the heel of her shoe

Rifling through his bag, Ryan finds a lighter and a couple of birthday cake candles among the random junk in there and starts to shove little candles into the ground as Jodie begins to draw the circle, "Yes, honey!" he replies as he pauses his singing to concentrate at the task at hand.

Alexandra's shoulder suddenly burns as the flicklock wielder materializes long enough to fire a shot into her, there's no visible wound.

Ryan mumbles "Happy birthday, ghosts!"

Alexandra cradles her left arm against her body, the phantom sensation of being shot still very much a thing. And then she gets shot in the shoulder again. She lets out a cry and falls to one knee, gritting her teeth against intense pain. "Ninjas are better than pirates," she spits out from behind those teeth. She finds a grave stone to duck behind to try to avoid further retribution from the flintlock ghost, while not giving the other two a chance to catch her unawares. "My tablet is over there. Find the banishing ritual and follow the pronunciation guide," she tells the others while the ghosts focus on her.

Jodie does her part to make a shoddy circle and the rest of what Alexandra instructed of her. But she's slow at doing it and is constantly looking for a ghost pirate to come stab her or something. A gust of wind blows across the graveyard and it is merely normal weather but the white trash chick is so jumpy that she whirls around with a backhand to try and smack an invisible foe. "Piss off!"

The three spirits encircle the group, flicking in and out of reality as they coral them.

nods as he knows which tablet she's speaking of, and scrambles for it, looking it over. "Oh, this one is a doozy. He squints as he looks it over, reading out loud as he raises up a hand

"Exora phantasma, libera nos ab umbris."
"Silentium aeternum, vincula rumpimus."
"Lumina sancta, ad nos vocate,"
"Terras sacras, spectris purgate."
Ryan looks it over as he sounds out the next phrases, trying to read ahead as he makes sure he's pronouncing them right."

Alexandra cannot actually do the ritual from her hiding place, but as the ghosts start to focus on coraling versus outright violence, she takes a moment to get her breath. "Doing fine, dear, just keep it up. Speak with authority and command. One of you needs to drip blood into each of the candle fires," she offers for instructions to the other two to continue. She darts out from her current head stone to a different one, trying to keep the ghosts focused on her instead of those doing the real work.

Jodie wrinkles her nose and volunteers, "I guess thats the least I can do. I've plenty to spare on the full moon." She moves then to the first candle, it's evident she doesn't have a knife but she does seem to have long nails and so she rakes a nail across her palm and then squeezes a drop of blood onto the first candle, then the second. Moving from one to the next with a wariness this may make her a target.

The double knife weilder appears suddenly behind Alexandra, cackling right in her ear before rearing back to stab her in the back.

Ryan continues to chant as he glances over at Alexandra checking to make sure he's doing all right, as his eyes open wide at the spirits encircling them, trying to force his will into the circle and candles as he lowers his hand with the lighter to light them in the ritual.

"Aetheris flamma, corde ardeat,"
"Ventis vocatis, umbrae fugeant."
"Manus conjunctae, circulum lumine,"
"Spiritus abscedat, pace redimine."

He stuffs the lighter in a pocket and he yells "Now get out of here, ghosts! Go back to the Ocean and shit!" he looks really scared at the ghost behind Alexandra as he reaches out his hand to attempt to stop it.

Alexandra had her back to a headstone, so the ghost cheated, naturally, by going through it. She lets out another scream and rolls away from the stab and headstone. She ends up sprawled on her back on the grass, staring up at the sky. She really has taken the brunt of the attacks, now on her fourth injury inflicted by the specters. She huffs a few pants, then starts to get moving once more, trying to make herself a mobile target at the very least. "Once the candles have blood, keep chanting, and hope," she calls out to the pair working on the circle.

The three spirits begin to convulse and shake, they quickly move to grip each other, forming a tight circle as they spin faster and faster, strange orchestral music flowing through the air from nowhere before suddenly they are sucked down into the ground and vanish.
