Deacons Bargaining

(Kylia's bargaining)

[Wed Dec 13 2023]

In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

"Seems we have yet again been beaten by Kylia," Angelique says to Deacon, as she and the Cajun head into the room, offering a nod to Kylia and then pursing her lips to while away the pout. "But si. Es bueno still, no? We can just help emphasize her points." With that, the Inigo woman walks toward the table where representative of The People sits, putting on a pretty smile, despite the glint in her eye that never truly goes away.

In a swirl of confidence and purpose, Kylia sweeps into the meeting room, glancing back over a shoulder toward Angelique and Deacon with faintly raising eyebrows and a warm smile, "Hi, you two. This is how much winning your support means to the Hand." She leans against the desk, "We get it. No one likes an overbaring, tyrannical government, or taxes." A shoulder rolls in a shrug, "Few are as laissez-faire as we. We would respect your cultures and wish to be left alone by civilization."

"We've a common enemy in the Illarin Empire." Kylia claims, though it's highly likely that she's just saying what she thinks this particular representative wishes to hear, "Their nobility have often taken issue with the idea of cooperating with us, as outsiders." Her brows tick upward, "Perhaps you'll be more open minded. We'll find that common ground that benefits us both."

"I'm just here to put in my two cents, I suppose" Deacon says with an easy-going grin while trailing behind Angelique as they arrive and meet up with Kylia. "But yeah, what favors I've got stashed up I'll pitch at your offer, non? Collective support means better support." He keeps his offer directed in Kylia's direction, rather than speak to the representative directly.

"One can hope humans would find reason to be open minded to genuinely made, charitable offers from the supernatural elite," Angelique offers drolly to Kylia and Deacon alike as she studies her fingernails like she has little interest at all in the ongoing proceedings. "If they wish the power to overthrow their oppressors, they certainly can't look to other -humans-, or the Order's wishy-washy hope to create collaboration and compromise." With that said, she looks up and over to representative of The People, flashing him her picture-perfect media smile. "The Hand is the only alliance you can make that you would not regret making," she asserts, atop Kylia's much more persuasive efforts.

"No harm in it." Kylia supposes to Deacon, as she leans against it with a nonchalant ease, "We all want to the same thing. It's why we got dressed up and came." Several nods are given toward Angelique in encouragement, "Like Miss Inigo said, you won't find any as capable as the supernatural. A bit of brainwashing here and there and really, you could have what you want within weeks, days, even."

Deacon gives a quick grin toward Kylia, "Exactly. But hey, they will or they won't Either way, I got other business in a little under an hour so glad to take care of this now, as opposed to later!"

"You and your business," Angelique says to Deacon with some amusement. "We know, guapo, you are a most important person." It's said dryly and with the tone that would either suggest insult or ironic teasing, depending. But for the moment, she lingers, and her attention returns to representative of The People as she waits to hear what the decision will be. What other decision could there be, though? That's what her expression suggests.

"Oh, I see how it is" Deacon says with a dry expression, bordering on its own amusement toward Angelique.

The representative of The People decides to support The Hand.
