Ethans Bargaining

(Ethan's bargaining)

[Thu Nov 23 2023]

In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

"Good evening," Ethan mentions as he takes an even stride into the meeting room, making a formal motion to extend a hand towards the Witch Hunter representative. "I appreciate you taking the time to meet with me this late into the evening, and I understand your schedule likely has other demands, especially on today." Pulling out a chair, Ethan moves to seat himself directly next to the Witch Hunter and, with cursory formalities out of the way, sets straight to brass tacks. "Our organizations, while we differ a bit in mentality and practices, ultimately have the same goal. I believe there's avenues of mutual benefit and collaboration here for both us. Wargames, armament contracts, black market contacts. These are potential avenues of sharing and cooperation that can set the foundation for a more fruitful relationship down the road."

Nodding his head, Ethan leans back into the cushioned leather seats present in town hall. "I know. The Temple does not have the religious leanings that it used to. A few of our chapters are certainly far more inclined towards our religious roots, especially our cells in Jerusalem." There is a period of time where he is afforded a retort, an accusation of suspicion or harboring of arcane elements within his chapter. "I understand your reservation, considering that while we typically reject arcanists in our ranks, we don't have the luxury to turn them away entirely. Our mutual enemies levy a great deal of arcane might, so leveraging these self-same tools within reason allows us to level the playing field."

There is an audible creak as Ethan shifts in his seat, nodding his head along to a few of the damning accusations made against Ethan and his fellows globally. "Look," Ethan interrupts, firmly yet without a shred of anger or disdain. "As I said, our organizations ultimately differ in our goals and methods. We understand and respect your religious leanings and have no intention of trying to pressgang your militia into our organization. Certainly, there could be a benefit there, but we believe independent operation provides us with mutual benefit enough." Pulling up his smart phone, Ethan unlocks it with a few button presses and seems to set himself to the task of looking up something likely relevant to the current line of conversation. "Temple Intelligence knows of your current struggles within Boston, especially in regards to relationships with local law enforcement, the local government, and some of the founding families cracking down on your flow of weaponry." Setting his phone down the surface of the desk, Ethan sets his eyes upon the representative once more. "I cannot promise immediate support, but if we're pledged some of your contacts in the criminal underworld, local religious parishes, as well as funding for our own efforts, we'd be willing to look into suppressing those elements hindering your operations. You've seen our work in New York. You know what we can do."

"So, what do you say?" Ethan asks, leaning back into his seat and affording the representative with a smile. "Do we have a deal? We've worked well together in the past, and the Order and Hand both know this. Likely why they've not even bothered to send anyone." Extending an open hand towards the representative, Ethan seemingly awaits an answer.
