Ethans Nightmare Battle With Kylia

(Ethan's nightmare battle with Kylia)

[Thu Nov 30 2023]

In the Master Bedroom of an eerie colonial building
The lavish master bedroom offers a large, queen sized bed on a frame of thick wood. Each side of the bed features an antique night stand, making it quite comfortable and classy all-in-all. A corner couch with a coffee table - paired with a modern coffee machine offering a touch display and a wide selection of teas - make for a comfortable place to sit, right in-front of the windows that show the vistas of the north side of Haven and the harbor. Across the windows an antique desk offers a laptop computer, completed with a massive, plush leather desk chair.

A strange collection of ropes hangs from various points of the ceiling.

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

Carmine checks her revolver is loaded when she arrives, satisfied that it is she tips her head to Ethan, saying nothing as to not give away that she is here.

"Right..." Ethan murmurs, staring at himself with widened eyes before it seems to dawn upon him rather swiftly on his present circumstances. With the presence of his rifle firmly in hand, Ethan ejects the round set ready for the chamber and then gives a cursory inspection to the magazine.

The absence of anyone in the nightmare, or at least Ethan's perceptions of it, seems to cause the eyes that can be seen from his mask to roll.

Kylia appears momentarily disoriented, her eyes scanning the surroundings with a furrowed brow. The faint flicker of uncertainty fades swiftly, replaced by a resolute focus as she spots Ethan in her sights. Without hesitation, she raises her sniper rifle with precision, the cold metal against her cheek, and the silence is shattered by the sharp crack of gunfire as she opens fire.

The whizz and crack of a nearby round, shot by Kylia's rifle, does not seem lost upon Ethan. If anything, it drives the man into action of his own. Double timing it to create greater distance between himself and Kylia, the man eventually pivots to a stand-still before taking a knee nearby. Getting his rifle at the ready, Ethan lifts the sight on his Springfield firearm and fires a snap shot of his own in retaliation towards Kylia, the bullet whizzing by Kylia's face and striking at the 'ground' near Kylia.

As the staccato of gunfire erupts around her, Kylia reacts with swift instinct and drops prone to the ground, her stomach making contact with the cold surface beneath. Bullets whiz overhead, and the stinging reality of the danger propels her into immediate action. With a controlled breath, she countinues to fire at Ethan, bullets missing whizzing past, the recoil of her weapon jolting through her prone form.

A series of rounds flying towards Ethan is enough for him to abandon his kneeling position, once more trying to break more distance between himself and Kylia's prone form. Finally, he does much of the same as his opponent and eventually drops belly first into a prone position. Once again, he fires another snap shot as a delaying motion to assist in suppressing Kylia, while trying to line up a more adequate shot with his rifle.

With his prone position finally giving him what he needs in timing and position to strike, Ethan lines up Kylia's prone position with his rifle and takes a shot with his rifle. Watching with anticipation as the slight recoil of his rifle jostles his position ever-so-slightly, he keeps his practiced eye trained as the bullet flies towards Kylia.

As Kylia lies prone on the ground, the gravity of the situation becomes increasingly evident. The relentless exchange of gunfire paints a bleak picture, and a flicker of realization dances in her eyes. Yet, with gritted teeth, she presses on, each shot fired a desperate attempt to defy the inevitable. Then there's a click from her sniper rifle as she realizes she's emptied it's clip. A defeated sigh escapes her lips, seeming resigned.
