Ryans Bargaining 240130

(Ryan's bargaining)

[Mon Jan 29 2024]

In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

Wandering in and shrugging to representative of The Peacekeeping Hand, Ryan says, "Hey, so I know you're probably looking for someone else, but let's make a deal. You and I both know that like...sometimes The Temple does shitty things, right? And you want to keep your people safe, and we want to keep -our- people safe. So maybe if you'd keep an eye on them and we can keep an eye on them, then you can keep your people safe, and it's one of those things that like...we can totes agree on. I mean there isn't much we -do- agree on, but this could be maybe a point where we see eye to eye. And I know you all do bad stuff, but if we can like...figure out a deal, then everyone's happy, right?"

"That guy's a total liar," Charlene claims, pointing at Ryan as she hurries into the meeting room. She sounds a little winded and takes a moment to tuck her hair behind her ears. "It's way safer if the, uh... if I get picked. Just saying."

Alexander nods towards the Ryan and to the representative he offers simply, "I think you know that if it is peace you want, then you need to make allies. If nothing else, The Order is trustworthy and reliable." He peers at someone and the others, folding his arms. "I have no desire to force your hand, I would never. But we both know the truth, we have greater enemies than one another, and greater dangers plague this world." He gestures emphatically, "Lets find a way to face them together."

"Safer?" Ryan says as he raises an eyebrow at Charlene, "Bruh, are you like...threatening The Hand? That's totes a bad play, my dude." he motions to Alexander, "Yeah, what he said, like...The Order is at least not going to threaten you with violence or whatever."

Peyton traipses in with a dramatic flair, greeting all with a, "So sorry I'm late, Yall." . She shuffles through a few quick folders and documents before presenting one to the representative. "A little weaker than our usual offer, I know." She pouts a little to herself.

Alexander sticks his hands in his pocket cooly. It's plain he doesn't know or trust a person in this room, but hostility seems about the furthest thing from his mind. He's absolutely out of his element but looks eager.

"No I'm not! I'm just saying I got the best solution, okay?" Charlene remarks and makes a face at Ryan. "But I ain't gonna tell YOU what it is if you're gonna be all snooty about it. Matter of fact, that's how come I know your proposal is dumb."

Alexander exhales sharply, "Please, I feel like I'm witnessing a fight between children on the playground."

Alexander gestures emphatically. "I am Alexander. I think we can, in this place, engage a little more diplomatically with one another?" he raises a brow.

"Snooty?" Ryan asks as he raises an eyebrow to Alexander, "Dude, The Hand like stabs people. I'm just trying to not get you stabbed." he upnods to Alexander, "Sup, I'm Ryan. I'm trying to be diplomatic." he motions to Charlene, "She's just threatening people and kind of harshing the vibe."

Peyton presses her lips into a creased smile and glances down at a few more documents, shuffling them around briefly before adding a smaller envelopment to the package she passed to the representative. "Well, I can sweeten the deal a little, but my operational budget for this quarter is already shot." She says. "Anyhow, it's great to see so much political discourse, isn't it?" She smiles to the others brightly, beauty-queen perfect.

Alexander gestures to Ryan. "What are you gonna do, stab me? Famous last words of man who is about to be stabbed," he informs him. He peers to Peyton, and seems struck for a moment, but keeps his composure, he nods to her. "Yes, wonderful, even," he says with faint sarcasm

"I'm literally not threatening people!" Charlene protests, gesturing animatedly with frustration. "All I'm saying, right? All I'm saying is that I just inherited from my dead granddad, so I'm a pretty safe bet."
