(Lillian’s Monday night odd encounter(Meridith):Meridith)

[Mon Aug 4 2025]

At front yard

It is night, about 69F(20C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds. The mist is heaviest At High and Lake/span
There is a waxing gibbous moon.

(Your target has been abducted by the syndicate for potential sale offworld, they must escape or stall their abductors long enough for their allies to be able to come rescue them before the transaction can take place.

Lillian is having an interesting evening. A new friend, some fighting, and gosh wasn’t she just so amazing? Lillian of course. That other person was kind of a pain at times. Still. It’s been good. When Meridith parts ways for some business, what does Lillian find herself up to?

Lillian is heading back to her car, which is in desperate need of some work at the shop since this Meridith person kinda took up her car repair time, and takes a seat in it. She takes some time to wipe down her new blade before she even thinks about driving, though.

Lillian finds herself suddenly losing sight of the sidewalk. Like one step, and then, they fall into the air itself. Dreamlike numbness fills their limbs and for a moment, there’s nothing. They, click. They’re elsewhere, quiet, It’s later now, a few hours. And they feel numb all over. As they blink and gain vision, they find themselves in a room, simple and plain. A desk. A bed. Nothing else.

“What the fuck?” Lillian almost immediately says. She looks around the room with narrowed eyes, one hand rested against the wall as if that’ll stop her from ‘falling’ again. “This is such a boring space.”

An interesting comment for someone finding themselves kidnapped. Locked in a room. Their head slowly begins to clear, and memories return. Syndicate. A crime organization who often finds Supernaturals and selling or using them. So, guess…that more or less explains things. They’re pretty sure they’re still in Haven, but have nothing but their clothes on them. A knock on the door rings in the small room.

Lillian looks around a bit more, expression remaining a bit confused as if something isn’t clicking right. She eventually gives up her exploration of the walls with a sigh, though. “Come in, I guess.”

A woman steps in, all smiles. Dress formal, and proper. Like a secretary of a law office. She beams winningly at Lillian. “Hello dear, I am hoping you would be able to tell me all about yourself? You are, Lillian Ashbrook, Fae, of the Courts. Is that correct?” She wonders. The two men flank in the background, looking like, well, bodyguards. Glasses, ear piece, obvious pistol.

Lillian hops up onto the desk and crosses one leg over the other. Her fingers lightly tap against it. “You got those details right, yes. What else do you need to know?”

“Well, a newly awakened Fae like yourself draws a lot of eyes,” she smiles at Lillian. “There’s a few Fae themselves looking for courtiers and servants, so I am sure you’ll fetch a fine price!” She seems happy, like, this is good news for both of them.

Lillian now glares at the woman and her fingers stop tapping. “I’m not going to be sold off to serve anyone else, excuse me.”

“Oh…” She looks a little confused, and back to Lillian. “…Wait a moment, where is your collar…” She looks a little worried and backs up. The two men stepping forward, wary.

Lillian herself gets warier, putting an arm up between herself and the others like that’d do anything. “-What- collar!?”

“So sorry about this! Let these nice men help and we’ll get everything sorted…!” She insists backing into the hall. “Need some help in here!” She shouts. “This one doesn’t have her collar!” Lillian is pretty sure someone messed up…if they had a collar on her would she have just gone along with this? Worrisome. The two ‘nice men’ don’t seem that nice as they advance with menace

Lillian hops off the desks and backs up, continuing to posture defensively. “Stay away from me. I’m not playing nice with… whatever the fuck this is.”

Meridith the man sweeps forward after they spare a glance and nod. Heavy steps, a baton is pulled free, and he looks intent to swing it against Lillian

Lillian briefly feels for her new sword. If it’s not there, she is going to attempt to dodge under the swing.

Lillian moves quick, the sword isn’t with her…but it isn’t far. They left her stuff nearby? What the hell would that collar do? She manages to dodge under the swing, narrowly. She could make a dash for the door past the man….or fetch her things.

Lillian is obviously going to grab her things before attempt to make for the door. That sword is brand new! She grabs the sword and makes sure to turn to face her assailants as she backs out of the room.

The world slows to a crawl, and time stops, so does Lillian. She can’t breathe, or move. Even her thoughts feel sluggish, in accelerate state like this. The voice appears in their head crystalline clear. “Hello, aren’t you a cute one. They told me all about you, and I was wondering what kind of person you are. So driven. So feisty. I like you. That’s why I wanted to see what you could do….with a little aid.” A future flashes through Lillian’s mind. She fights, and is overwhelmed, eventually, collared, and shipped off, sold into slavery, where she becomes lost.

“I think you deserve better. Will you let me help you? You have greatness in you, a potential all your own. Power, unquestionable. Are you brave enough to reach out and take it?” It asks of Lillian

Lillian looks around, or at least tries to look around, in a mild panic. “Who are you? What is this? What are you talking about?” She’s still in battle mode, and so her tone sounds confrontational.

A figure appears, with four wings, two on each side. One part butterfly, another woman, albeit lichen and moss grows about her body. She looks like she lifted herself from the earth, dazzlingly beautiful. “I am here to show you your true potential. You need know nothing more. You caught my eye, but my attention wanes, are you worthy? You know what you want, will you take it?”

Lillian gazes at the figure, taking her in, a small smile forming on her face. “Of course I’m worthy,” she says to the beautiful butterfly woman. “And I won’t ever be afraid to take what I want. What is it you offer?”

The woman leans over, and exhales. Breath sweet, like peppermint, sweet and deep and, then a power, invigorating fills Lillian as they resume their moment, and fetch their blade.

Lillian breathes it in deep, eyes closing for just a moment as she feels the power course through her, and then opens them again, blade at the ready. She charges down the hall, ready to deftly cut and dodge her way to freedom.

Lillian finds exhilirating strength fill them. Knowledge that floods their mind in a moment, like she had a private lesson from a dozen masters ripped from fantasy novels. A new found strength floods them. Their blade cuts clean leaving them off balance. By the time she makes it out the door. They find a trio of others, but it all ends the same. One step, two, a swing of her blade. Escape is in reach.

Lillian keeps going, not looking back, not hesitating. She’s determined to get herself free.

Lillian seems so in the zone right now, that it hardly even matters how many stand against her. She finds herself out the front door, somewhere downtown, with a confused and sheepish Meridith out waiting for you, flanked by a trio of cloaked hunters. “Your…fine. Okay. That’s good,” she smiles, and signals the hunters on. From there Lillian is offered a ride back. And that memory of the Fae hangs in her mind, a presence she can call on for power? What’s t he cost
