Seraphina’s Game Night at the extended Windermere Student Union

Date: 2025-09-08 20:53

(Seraphina’s Game Night at the extended Windermere Student Union)

[Mon Sep 8 2025]

in the Windermere Student Union Rec Room
44Set beneath a vaulted stone ceiling with gothic grey-matte 42chandeliers casting cool azure light below upon the slate flooring, the rec room balances leisure with architectural weight; the room open and unfussy, designed for movement and interaction without compromising the buildings historic character.

44 A full-size pool table sits at the center, its walnut frame and azure felt echoing the school 42colors. To the west, a dart board is mounted within a recessed brick niche, framed in blackened steel for safety and contrast. A ping pong table with a matte black surface and brushed metal legs anchors the southern end. A foosball table in dark oak and steel occupies the eastern space, by the arch revealing a row of vending machines for late night snacking.

It is about 60/span>/span/i15C) degrees. The mist is heaviest At Foxglove and Oakwood/span>/spanKaelyn laughs a little, “Oh, that would be dangerous. I’d probably before I even made it home.” Her eyes dart over to everyone who started to filter in offering a small wave to encompass them all.

“Same.” Annabelle mumbles at the ceiling, her voice echoed back to her. “I built my pharmacy in a masoleum. It felt rude to tear down the structure that remained, so I just called it HexRx and decided it was tha viiibe.”

Remy slips her arms around Jeremiah’s neck and pulls him down into the hug, giving him a quick, chaste peck on the lips. “Hey,” she says before slipping off her tip toes then. She looks around at the group and asks, “Can you introduce me?”

Jakem chuckles to Jeremiah “Nah, wouldn’t be the slightest bit suprised.” he comments, then looks to Seraphina “C’mon, every place is a burial ground if yah go back far enough.”

Jeremiah nods. “Everyone, this is Remy. Remy…” he points to the people he knows. “Sera, Kaelyn, and some other folks whose names I haven’t learned yet.”

Kaelyn perks up at the name Kaelyn, a hand raising to indicate ‘that’s me’.

Annabelle accepts this title of ‘she who has not been known of name yet.’ She is mysterious, ephemeral, other words to describe this phenomenon of the mysterious, wayfaring stranger.

Jakem nods to Annabelle “Huh, oh sure sure, so we’re gonna say oops when we land a shot in someone’s rear then?’\

Sarah fidles with her phone for a second, then blinks up, “Oh! I’m Sarah!” she offers to anyone that doesn’t know, still just sort of, announcing things to the world instead of using anything like an inside voice. It might just be her default mode of speech.

“Don’t I’ll laugh.” Annabelle scoffs sincerely, rolling her eyes with an centimeter of stress in the lids. She moves over to the dartboard, and picks up a dart backwards between her pinky, forefinger, and thumb.

Annabelle uses a 11a p05las04tic feathered dart with 42a sh40arp38 tip: The dart sticks in double two for four 11points.

Annabelle politely does not treat the dartboard as a target, for the sake of a challenge.

Jakem nods to Annabelle “Yeah, no problem, I won’t say oops.” he says as he snags a dart and looks around for a suitable target, narrowing in on Seraphina.

“True, true!” Seraphina/b>/spanAs Seraphina turns away, Jakem launches his dart…

Seraphina notes there is an WOOC Note regarding the games.

Nemi coughs as she arrives a bit late.

Nemi says “Apologies- I meant to get here sooner but something important came up-/span>“Well, if it is an event for students, I thought a teacher or two would be worth having around,” Remy says to Seraphina with a smile, giving a small bow of her head toward the other woman. She looks back to Jeremiah and tells him, “I thought ya would appreciate another chance to see me.” She gestures at herself and says, “I had to be quick about getting an outfit unpacked. I hope it is not terrible.” She dips a little to grip the bottom of the skirt to pull it out a little like a curtsy.

Jakem blinks innocently at Seraphina “What? Oh, I’m terribly sorry Sera. It’s hard not to throw at what you’re looking at, yah know.” he says with a wicked little half-grin.

“You look great. I like the sleeves.” Jeremiah says to Remy. “So you teach here? I guess I didn’t know that, Prof.” he adds, with a grin.

Nemi coughs for a moment, nodding a moment after as she walks over to where people are throwing darts from with a smile.

“I didn’t catch your name,” Seraphina says to Remy, “New into the University then? What are you teaching?” She asks this, so conversationally, even as she starts to take aim with the dart that was darted in her direction. Aiming, mind you, at Jakem.

Jakem is easily distracted, and is already looking over to Annabelle as she returns, so the dart has little difficulty in striking him wherever she might have been aiming.

“What sleeves?” Remy asks of Jeremiah, tilting her head a little, before lifting up her bare arms to give them a little flex to bounce her biceps a little. She is decently fit and toned. “Remy, Remy Johnson. I’m the new dance instructor,” she says toward Seraphina with a big smile. She steps away from Jeremiah enough to do a little twirl on one toe of her heels then snaps her other foot down to stop herself once she finishes. And then there is dart throwing shenanigans that have her covering her mouth with a hand and going wide eyed.

Jeremiah clearly misunderstood the cuffs as sleeves of some kind, but still thinks they’re cool.

Nemi walks over to Seraphina as she smiles softly, peering over her shoulder as she nods at the aim.

“Oooops!” Seraphina says to Jakem. “I was aiming at the board!” She’s all doe-eyed innocence. She probably should not turn her back on Jakem but, trusting as she is, she does, saying to Annabelle, “Yes, you get three darts per try.” Her turning puts her in eyesight of Nemi and her arms go about her in a small embrace. “Glad you could make it Nemi.”

“Kay!” Annabelle salutes, going to pick up the dart wherever for it has gone off to with a squat and a stand. “Baby, stop staring. Or keep doing it. Honestly, whichever, it’s flattering.”

Annabelle uses a 11a p05las04tic feathered dart with 42a sh40arp38 tip: The dart lands in single twelve with minimal 11impact.

Annabelle uses a 11a p05las04tic feathered dart with 42a sh40arp38 tip: The dart hits triple sixteen for forty-eight points.

Jeremiah tries to make a goal on the foosball table, and fails.

Annabelle wheezes into a cackles, throwing darts casually as she is while she texts. “Hey- hey Jak.” She nudges. “Should name a child Banana.”

Nemi smiles softly as she nods towards Seraphina. “Happy to be here at all, so what all has been played game wise so far?” She asks curiously of Seraphina.

Sarah squiiints at the foosball table as, even after Jeremiah stops moving things, things…keep moving? She sidesteps away from the table a little, glancing around, “Uh…?” she begins, then thinks better of it, just scratching at the back of her head, “Okay…sure…why shouldn’t that be a thing…” she a supposes to herself.

Jakem hmmms to Annabelle as he obliges her in staring at her rear while she throws “Why Bannana, there’s more to that joke I hope?”

“Just texting Eva.” Annabelle/b>/spanRemy follows Jeremiah over to the foosball table, but from the look on her face, she has never seen this game before. She watches with interest, but no recognition in her eyes. She remains quiet for the time being, perhaps hoping to glean some sort of understanding before she engages further.

“You up for a game of pool?” Seraphina asks Nemi. “Its your choice what game..” She steps away from the woman, to select herself a stick, chalking it up. She points to Remy. “Or yourself?” She racks and stacks, carefully, bending over the table in order to be sure she has it nice and tight for a break.

Jeremiah uses a 36hard36 wood36en36 foos36ball36 ball: The 30striker 36executes 37a 38spin 43kick 44that 80threads 81through 86traffic 87and 88scores.

“That’s better!” Jeremiah/span>/b/spanSeraphina glances aside to Sarah, a bit of concern etching her features, “Everything okay?”

“I uh, do not know any of these games,” Remy admits quietly to Seraphina, shaking her head. She looks at whatever Jeremiah is doing for a few moments. “I have no idea how to play,” she adds on as if it were not obvious from the initial statement. When Jeremiah explains the foosball game to her though, she looks at him and with an innocent blink of her eyes, she asks, “And what is soccer?”

Sarah blinks a few times at Seraphina, “Huh?” she wonders, tilting her head to one side a little, “Yeah!” she reports, “I think…?” she adds, “Am I the only one seeing stuff…kinda just doing things on its own…?” she wonders, then shakes her head, “Anyway yeah, all good!”

Nemi huma softly, walking over to the pool table-

“A game that fascinates people in Europe and South America greatly. You kick a black and white ball back and forth across a field, trying to get it into the other team’s goal, while they try to stop you.” Jeremiah says to someone.

“A game that fascinates people in Europe and South America greatly. You kick a black and white ball back and forth across a field, trying to get it into the other team’s goal, while they try to stop you.” Jeremiah says to Remy.

Nemi takes up a stick and starts to chalk it up with one of the little chalk bricks as she nods softly. Turning to Seraphina she gives a soft grin. “Your on.” She states with a smile.

Seraphina winks at Sarah, “Oh… don’t mind the ghosts. I am -sure- that they are harmless.” Famously spoken last words, or the truth? Time will tell, likely.

Remy is distracted briefly from Jeremiah during the discussion, watching Seraphina and Nemi for a moment. But then she nods toward Jeremiah and says, “I see.” She steps over to the table once he hands over the ball and tries to do the thing. She has at least seen him do it a little. But while she has the dexterity to do this, she has no concept of the timing and coordination to do so.

Remy uses a 36hard36 wood36en36 foos36ball36 ball: The 30ball 36slides 37along 38the 43line 44and 80drops 81into 86the 87goal 88cleanly.

Mirabel strolls into the recreation room and looks around nosily. “Good evening,” she bids everyone in a cheerful tone. “I won’t stay all night, but I thought I’d come by and see if you’re all behaving yourselves.”

Jakem uses a 11a p05las04tic feathered dart with 42a sh40arp38 tip: The dart sticks in single seven awkwardly.

Jakem uses a 11a p05las04tic feathered dart with 42a sh40arp38 tip: The dart sticks in triple fourteen for forty-two 11points.

Jakem smirks to Annabelle “You see that? I got fewer points than you. You were in fifty eighth place, and I got fifty sixth.”

Annabelle says “Umm… Fifty-six?/span>/spanSeraphina steps over to the other side of the table with the cue, and sets it down onto the little indicator. She asks Remy as she lines herself up to try to make a break, cleanly, and enough to spread the balls about, “Where are you from, Remy?”

Nemi turns to Mirabel as she smiles and waves softly. “I believe were doing quite swimmingly!” She states and nods, turning to face the pool table she motions with her hand for Seraphina to go first.

Sarah lifts a lazy wave to Mirabel, “Hey.” she offers over. She grimaces at Seraphina a little, “Why are there ghosts?” she has to wonder, “Don’t people usually like…take care of that?” she considers, even as she spies on the foosball game between Remy and Jeremiah a little.

“Suuurre did.” Annabelle comments southernly, walking up to the dart board with a hop in her step, still wiggling a leg ever three to five, and plucking out the darts. “Is that good? Aren’t we trying to subtract? I think we’re gunna bust.”

Jakem nods to Annabelle “Oh, is that what’s going on? So If I subtract my score from yours, that leaves us with 2 points. We should be able to get rid of those by subtracting some other scores.” He calls over to the foosball table “Hey, anyone over there have two points?”

Jeremiah uses a 36hard36 wood36en36 foos36ball36 ball: The 30striker 36clips 37the 38ball 43but 44fails 80to 81change 86its 87direction.

Jeremiah laughs. “And that’s how you -don’t- score a point.”

Annabelle uses a 11a p05las04tic feathered dart with 42a sh40arp38 tip: The dart misses the target and lands in 11single 17six.

Annabelle uses a 11a p05las04tic feathered dart with 42a sh40arp38 tip: The dart lands in single sixteen with no 11follow-up.

Annabelle uses a 11a p05las04tic feathered dart with 42a sh40arp38 tip: The dart lands in triple seventeen with no 11rattle.

“That’s good. If I wake up tomorrow and find out that you youngsters have been brawling over the foosball results, I’ll be very cross,” Mirabel/span>/span“I am from Santa Barbara,” Remy answers toward Seraphina before turning one of the sticks to try to clip the ball and stop Jeremiah from scoring. “Perhaps you are just looking to score another way? Lure me into a false sense of security? Or let me win so I take pity on you?” she offers at Jeremiah with a little bit of a smirk.

Jeremiah grins at Remy. “I would never. As far as you know.”

“Oh… well, when I took ownership of the building, I was informed, as all realtors have to inform,” Seraphina starts, wiggling her fingers at Mirabel as she walks about to find the best angle in order to try to sink another ball of her color, “This is atop of a burial site.” So casually said. Ghosts.

“A halloween play?” Seraphina asks, bending to angle her stick at the cue to try and make some silly trick shot she likely has no business trying. “What sort? I’m afraid I don’t really know of any halloween type ones.” She makes contact with the cue and stands, rising to her tip toes in anticipation.

Seraphina uses a series of solid and striped balls: The target ball rebounds off the rail and drops 11without 17hesitation 23into the corner.

“Probably something we come up with when I’ve found some students who are interested,” Mirabel/span>/b/spanSarah clucks her tongue softly in thought as she just sort of lingers near the foosball and watches the ongoing match, “Is uh…is the one with the old rich guy and the ghost of Christmas past and stuff a Christmas -and- halloween play…?” she muses aloud.

Jakem snickers to Annabelle “Bannana, I get the joke now.”

Nemi nods, humming softly she chuckles, walking around the table she takes a moment to consider something, heading for a shot, she sees something, a chance to sink two balls of the same kind she has to sink with a firm nod. Aiming for it she lines up and takes the shot!

Seraphina picks up her cup of coffee to sip before she passes by Nemi with a hand on the woman’s shoulder. “I promise, I’m no pool shark.” There is an ‘ah’ from her. “I’m sure it will be a smash hit, Miss Kane.” Then, when Nemi goes to make a shot though she has made one of her own, she pauses, and just lets Nemi take her shot out of turn, stick bottom flat on the floor.

Jeremiah nods at Remy after she breaks the kiss. “I’m glad you got to come out, even for a bit.” He smiles at her.

“Thank you for the lesson on games,” Remy says to Jeremiah, stepping over to pull him down into another kiss. She does not seem bothered by it being in public. “I’ll be able to text for a bit still, but I need to get to bed,” she says quietly before slipping her arms from his neck.

Nemi doesn’t take it though. “Oh wait whered- I lost track- Your turn still-” She stops barely an inch of the ball. “I’m very tired and out of it…”

Jeremiah now nods at Remy after she breaks the kiss. “I’m glad you got to come out, even for a bit.” He smiles at her.

Remy finishes her goodbyes with Jeremiah, and despite arriving a little late, she is already heading out. She waves to the others, but then exits, clearly being one of those early to bed sorts. For beauty sleep, assuredly.

“Would you believe it, the whole Ivory Quarter was inundated in mist for a while yesterday,” Mirabel mentions to Seraphina and lets out a bit of a huff. “It normally doesn’t get that bad here in the center of the city.”

“Ive only seen it get truly bad once since I’ve been in the city. I am not sure what exactly was watching me from the mists. I ducked inside before even looking.” Seraphina remarks to Mirabel. “It was deep downtown the other day, as well.” She watches Nemi line up for her shot, anticipatory gleam in her eyes, though she does turn between her and Mirabel to speak. “You were not caught up in it were you?”

Sarah frowns at Mirabel’s little anecdote, “Stupid mist…” she mutters to herself, “That’s like, the SECOND time it’s delayed date night!” she grouses, “I’ve gotta get cool armor to go with my big sexy sword so I can go out and bully monsters about it.”

Jeremiah uses a 36hard36 wood36en36 foos36ball36 ball: The 30defender 36nudges 37the 38ball 43but 44fails 80to 81redirect 86it.

“Well, it’s official. I’m as bad at little wooden soccer as I am at the real thing.” Jeremiah/span>/b/span“Well, I was on campus when it happened, but I wasn’t really planning to drive anywhere so I wouldn’t say I was caught,” Mirabel supposes and takes another sip of her coffee. “Something’s afoot, though. I’m sure you’ve heard who’s encroaching on our quarter,” she adds and turns her attention to Sarah. “Date night, hm? On that note, how’s Miss Lawson doing today?”

Nemi nods softly, taking a bite of cookie…. humming softly she bends her knees a bit, getting a bit of an angle as she nods, taking a shot and-

Nemi uses a series of solid and striped balls: The selected ball makes contact but fails to 11change 17direction.

“Probably still super bored.” Sarah/span>/b/spanJeremiah takes a break from foosball to watch Sera shoot pool.

“She does seem to end up there quite a lot, doesn’t she?” Mirabel remarks and scrunches her nose at Sarah. “Give her my best.”

“Yes, I’ve heard tale of it.” Seraphina says to Mirabel, shaking her head. “I’m sure that it will all be -fine-.” A nasty little habit picked up from somewhere. Fine. A clap on Nemi’s back signals consolation for the shot, and then she circles the table, seeking for that perfect angle, herself. She relays to Sarah, whilst leaning in to strike the cue, “She has a bit of company there tonight, at least. Not that it is a good thing, but at least hopefully less boring.”

Seraphina uses a series of solid and striped balls: The cue ball threads through traffic and delivers 11a 17perfect 23strike to sink the target.

Sarah blinks at Seraphina a few times, “Company?” she wonders, “Did more people get hurt?” she questions right after with a small frown, “Cause, yeah, that’s definitely no good.”

Chewing lightly on the inside of her left cheek, Seraphina/span>/b/spanSeraphina uses a series of solid and striped balls: The cue ball drifts into a cluster and stalls 11mid-table.

“If I was the mayor, I would wall off the outer boroughs and declare it lost territory,” Mirabel/span>/b/spanSarah wrinkles her now up at that, “Boooo.” she offers up, to monsters and mist, presumably, “I’m glad you guys got whoever it was out at least?” she supposes, “It seems like at least one person gets got like, every day.”

“Mmm?” Annabelle has her phone shown laterally to Jakem, something between a grimace and a scoff stuck on her face. “Oh no, we totally got distracted and started talking. I might be winning because he.. Didn’t take his turn?”

“Is it your turn? Do we care? Five hundred is a big number.” She whines.

Nemi nods softly as she chuckles. “Tour is fine, I think your gonna win very shortly anyways.” She states with a smile.

Jeremiah looks down at his phone, gives it a slight frown, then begins to head to the door. He waves. “Good night, all. Thanks for hosting this. It was fun! I’ve got some work to do, though.”

Sarah fiddles with her phone for a bit, giggling about something, then lifts a hand, “It was super good to meet everyone!” she enthuses, loudly, “Shopping time, though! Kisses! Bye!”

Seraphina sets the stick back into the slot in which it came. “Sounds good to me. But since it seems everyone is winding down, I’m sure students can take their own time and tour.”

“No.” Annabelle answers simply, putting her phone back into her pocket with an easy shake of her head. “Not-at-all.”

Seraphina chuckles at Jakem and Annabelle, “I will post the rules for next time. But as long as you are not trying to poke an eye out…” This is directed at someone, “Anything goes?”

Seraphina chuckles at Jakem and Annabelle, “I will post the rules for next time. But as long as you are not trying to poke an eye out…” This is directed at Jakem, “Anything goes?”

Annabelle says “I’ll be there!

Annabelle gives a pat to Jakem. “Go ahead. I’ll be out here.”

Jakem heads to the restroom.

Annabelle waves Jakem off for something that looks temporary and comes over to the seats to set down next to Mirabel.

“I’ll be heading home. It’s a little late for me,” Mirabel says and gives Seraphina a breezy night. “Great initiative. I want the youngsters to use the new union regularly, since it’s so close to campus and rather swanky.”

“Ehh- well, fine! I’ll just be sitting here!” Annabelle grouches.

“Oh, I can wait a while,” Mirabel supposes and nudges Annabelle. “How are you feeling?”

“I’m okay?” Annabelle supposes honestly, giving a so-so off to the direction Jakem went. “I confided in my hero, Sofia, so. I think I’m okay.”

Annabelle says “It’s not a roller coaster so much as a marathon. It’s only three-ish weeks, so I should be alright.

“That’s good,” Mirabel says and pats Annabelle fondly on the hand. “What’s three weeks? Did I miss something?”

“Please let me know if there is anything more you’d like to see. We’ve got some room to grow” Seraphina adds, setting an empty mug down. “Perhaps next time we will head up to the roof for games. There is a basketball court there.” But its Annabelle’s statements that catch her attention. “Something wrong, Annabel? Three weeks?”

“Yep.” Annabelle answers Seraphina, tapping at her choker. “I’m um. How to put it. I had someone imbue something for me.”

Annabelle says “So I’m a little bit more of a brat for the coming weeks, but like. It’s only something I’m doing for three weeks.

“Brats I can handle,” Mirabel remarks and grins lightheartedly at Annabelle. “If you get really bad, I’m sure I can think of a way to put you in your place.”

“Nooooo!” Annabelle rips her gaze up from her phone to Mirabel, eyes wide with a worried scoff. “DON’T! I dunno what you’re gonna do but it’ll be Jak-like I bet, mmhmn..”

Nemi smiles softly as she chuckles when she hears that from Mirabel. “You do handle Kai quite well when he makes a disturbance.”

Begins to clean up the food and coffee brought. “Thank you for coming tonight.” Seraphina says to Nemi as they are stacked onto a tray for carrying purposes, “No tour. Though — didn’t I give you a little bit of one before?”

“I wouldn’t do anything that draws comparisons to that scoundrel,” Mirabel assures Annabelle in plain earshot of Jakem. She grins across the room at Nemi and adds, “I may have to come up with some new cards. He has been through most of them by now.”

Nemi nods softly to Seraphina. “You did, And it was quite fun to arrive and play a bit of pool with you, and watch others have fun.” She says with a warm smile.
