(Arachne’s Tuesday evening odd encounter(Amber):Amber)

[Tue Sep 9 2025]

On Mayflower Street/span>/spanafternoon, about 71F(21C) degrees, and there are a few wispy white clouds in the sky. The mist is heaviest At Autumn and Darkwater/span>/spanArachne says “Good work, ladies.

Lykaia says “Gonna go retrieve my bike. Good work.

Sarah beams at the praise of others, even if she uh, didn’t really do much but make a bird briefly angry. She looks proud to have been nearby, at least.

Amber offers Constance a thumbs-up, “Thanks for coming along. Sorry if it wasn’t your bag.”

Constance says “It’s fine, it was something to do. I rarely have things to do.

Constance says “Raids feel like ass because it’s always you against the entire world so I don’t bother scheduling them.

Amber sidesteps over to shoulder-bump Sarah, “Wasn’t the most action-packed I’ve done, but how’d you like your first supernatural adventure?” To Constance she shrugs, “Doesn’t HQ send backup if you’re on the defense? I have fun even when I get crushed, but I’m not as competitive.”

Constance says “Not in my experience.

Sarah bumps Amber back lightly, carefully, because big sword, “It was fun!” she informs Amber, smiling, just a little, “It wasn’t nearly as fiery-death-kill-argh as I expected.” she adds, “Which is good…I really don’t wanna murder housecats…” she confesses with a grimace, “Especially not for my first ever murder. My first ever murder should be a dinosaur.”

Constance says “We can arrange that..

Constance says “Hey, actually, you wanna kill a demon?

“Maybe I can take you on a patrol next time and you can meet some ghosts. So many fucking ghosts in this town,” Amber laments quietly, “I can take you hunting if you want, though we’ll probably be stabbing rats. Or we can go spar and see if Lil is up for joining.” She pauses before giving Constance a curious look, “Is the demon Albert?”

Constance says “No, like an actual demon.

Sarah widens her eyes at Constance’s invitation, “U-um…I’ve never…actually fought anything…?” she admits, “Like…at all?” she further confesses, for emphasis, “Soooo…I think maybe a demon might be like…sorta more than I should bite off…?” she tries to be diplomatic about her refusal, scratching at her hair, yet again, “Like rats!” she adds, agreeably, “I could probably take a rat…”

Constance sighs, seeming to be a little disappointed. “Not even if I helped?”, she inquires, hopefully.

Sarah blinks at Amber, “Like…a dinosaur rat, right? Not like…a small cute rat…?”

“Real demons are fucking terrifying. Are we talking 63rd?” Amber eyes Constance, a bit surprised. Then back to Sarah, “One of the most common critters is a giant, gross rat straight out of Princess Bride. So not a cute pet but not a dino either.”

Sarah shakes her head at Constance, expression, which is slowly growing a bit sunnier, apologetic, “Oh, no, then you’d have to worry about me and stuff and I wouldn’t wanna be a bur-…” burden. She doesn’t even get the word out, her improving expression -plummets- and she suddenly stands less confidently, “I wouldn’t wanna be in the way.” she corrects, quietly, “Thank you, though.”

Constance raises her gauntlet into the air and clicks the ivory talons together. “I can rip open a portal to Hell and temporarily summon a demon with this,” she confides to Sarah and Amber. “And then we could beat the shit out of it together.”

Amber stares at the gauntlet a little while, “So… not only do you shoot hellfire balls. You also can summon a demon? The fuck. I need to get a relic.” She looks over to Sarah, giving another nudge, “You won’t ever be in the way. But we can start with a sparring match.”

Constance snorts. “If you think that’s strong you should have seen ‘the spear that neutralizes the guy every time you stab them with it’ or Lykaia’s little jack that hulks her out and gives her full control over her own body and telekinesis.”
