(Yukino’s Game Night event)
[Thu Jun 4 2026]
An Elegant Oceanview Casino Restaurant
The restaurant occupies a generous space on the casino’s second floor, with
floor-to-ceiling windows along the southern wall offering unobstructed views
of the Atlantic Ocean and the nearby marine rescue facility. Round tables
draped in crisp white linens fill the dining area, each set with heavy
silverware and crystal water glasses that catch the light from the overhead
chandeliers. The carpet beneath is a deep burgundy with gold geometric
patterns that help muffle the constant din of conversation and clinking
dishware. Dark wood wainscoting runs along the interior walls, punctuated by
brass sconces that cast warm pools of light between the larger windows. A
long service bar stretches across the back wall, its polished granite surface
reflecting the rows of bottles arranged on mirrored shelves behind it. The
smell of seafood and steak mingles with the faint undertone of cigarette
smoke that drifts up from the gaming floor below, while the distant sound of
slot machines provides a subtle rhythm beneath the restaurant’s ambient
noise. During daylight hours, natural light floods the space, rendering the
ocean a brilliant blue-grey, while evening brings the twinkle of boat lights
on the water and the occasional sweep of the marine facility’s searchlight
across the darkened bay.
It is about 60F(15C) degrees. The mist is heaviest At Thornberry and Lake
And there, Yukino’s phone shows the turn of the hour and she looks up at the people present. She makes a deeper bow to the people present. “One observes herself to be grateful for people attending.” She straightens and then gestures to the chest and trunk with masks. “One finds herself suggesting everyone chooses a mask they might prefer. One thinks they are a little special, perhaps. One recalls some to mean blind a little literally…”
Regaldo ambles his -ness over to the trunk and peers inside, a bit closer this time before drawing out a mask and turning it over in his hands. He spares a curious look to Yukino with a raised brow.
That certainly gets Elaine’s attention back, and in a moment, Elaine is squeezing Vasilisa back, chin tipping up to look at her face. That does not help, it seems, as a moment later her eyes are back down, and she’s hugging Vasilisa even more fiercely. But, at Yukino’s words, she slips away, twisting from Vasilisa and lifting a hand. “Later.” She promises, eyes already lit with excitement, before again, there’s a split second to her being over to the trunks, staring down into them as instructed.
Vasilisa beams over to Elaine, bouncing over to join her in rummaging through the trunk
Maricela tap taps the center line of Regaldo’s mask.
Regaldo goes slightly cross eyed as Maricela does this.
“It hides your double chins, Tio, you look good,” Maricela answers, once her mask has been appropriately fussed with, and so has his.
Regaldo gives Maricela a thumbs up.
Elaine slips on the mask, spinning away from the trunk and stepping on over to one of the tables, a little spring in her step as she goes.
Yukino places the mask of a split-faced Lovers on her own face, retrieving it after everyone else had picked one. Then she moves towards the round table, sliding around it, and turns to the guests. “One might say it is a little game…” She sighs, deeply, extensively. Her voice smudges to something sweeter and more cutish pronounced for some reason. “Might there be someone… who will dare the kiss of Past’s Folly… Or the sweet warm embrace of a cherished folly of the future, if one were allowed to ask.”
Regaldo nudges Maricela with his -ness, clearly trying to select her as tribute.
“Sure, sure,” Maricela says, elbowing someone fondly in the middle.
“Sure, sure,” Maricela says, elbowing Regaldo fondly in the middle.
“Ah, one might say it is such a beautiful shame, perhaps.” Yukino says, smiling as she watches for who will dare try to use one of the decks first. “One might say… the purpose of the mask shall be quite revealed… and perhaps some might find their sweetest affair…” She sighs, as if it was sacred.
Regaldo glances aside to the other masked fellows and shrugs only to reach out for a card from the Past deck.
Maricela strays to squeeze Yukino lightly around the shoulders in a hug, before glancing between the decks.
Stepping forward, eyes smiling, Elaine dips her head. “I will.” She says, voice already bordering on a laugh as she reaches…
Regaldo uses a deck of Cards Past:
Regaldo uses a deck of Cards Past: You kissed someone to be seen / not gentle, not quite clean.53 (Tell us of the time you kissed someone just to be seen.)
Maricela uses a deck of Future’s Folly:
Vasilisa bounces over to the deck, hand hovering over one of them, before Regaldo beats her to it.
Elaine uses a deck of Cards Past:
Elaine uses a deck of Cards Past: You told a tale that wasn’t yours / then added details, made it worse.53 (Confess how you passed on a story that wasn’t yours to tell.)
“One finds sir Regaldo to be the first…” Yukino says, smiling quite dearly. “Might sir Regaldo share of that which his once folly inquires upon? One notes… it may never be about a truth or a lie.”
Vasilisa uses a deck of Future’s Folly: You’ll read a fate you know is fake / but do it well, for heaven’s sake.53 (Tell someone their fortune. Lie beautifully.)
Regaldo gives a lift of his head and starts tapping on his phone. The device chirps and recites in cold neutrality, “One time I was trying to get someone’s attention so I planted one on their horse.” while amusement shows in his eyes behind the mask.
Vasilisa lets out a low whistle from beneath her mask, soft giggles following.
Yukino hides her lips behind a hand when she lets out a giggle. “One finds… she believes sir Regaldo a little too much perhaps… one recalls… he might enjoy eating a little too much.” She grins. She hmms, andmentions “One only finds herself being sad this may end eventually.”
She turns to Elaine “Miss daringly drawn a card of Past’s Folly… one might wonder if she might answer on the question asked?”
A sudden, bright laugh escapes Elaine. “On their horse!” Her hands clasp, as if praying. “That’s wonderful! At least you shared some affection with the poor horse.”
Regaldo nods a few times in agreement.
“but it is also so sweet!” Vasilisa says, fluttering a delicate hand.
“I am a man of many hats.” comes from the phone of Regaldo who wears none.
“Oh! Of course!” Elaine’s actual expression is hidden, but the smile is evident in her voice. “A story not mine to tell, I have given many of these. It was once, when I was newly sent to my first owner. He was the kindest I had for quite a long time after, as I learned several secrets he kept dear. His rival, of course, was my next. He desired to know, and so I told much to him!” Her hand comes to the mask, and her eyes light again with amusement. “He died!” She finishes. “It was the most wondrous thing…”
Regaldo just sort of stares at Elaine, the eyes behind the mask neutral, perhaps, though he does give a slight cant of his head.
Maricela uses a deck of Future’s Folly:
“That sounds like a promising beginning!” Vasilisa observes, she sounds entirely convinced of the matter when she speaks. “Deaths are like that, right?”
Maricela pokes at the deck.
“Yes!” Elaine inclines her head to Vasilisa. “Very promising! It began a rise in career that ended fifty years later of poisoning!”
Maricela uses a deck of Future’s Folly: You’ll read a fate you know is fake / but do it well, for heaven’s sake.53 (Tell someone their fortune. Lie beautifully.)
Vasilisa settles besides Elaine, leaning into her as she nods animatedly. “Was it a slow onset or fast?” she asks brightly? “the slow ones give a hope for learning, while the fast ones well, that would be reusing my line!”
“One might wonder if miss loved them, so much. One finds herself thinking it is quite tragic.” Yukino says, letting a long sigh out. She places her chin on her hands as if it was the most tragic… Then she sighs again. “One might wonder what might have become of such sweet desire-ridden romance, perhaps…”
As Maricela pick a card, and it proves to be the same as Vasilisa, Yukino says. “One finds both miss and miss may decide their target of a future’s folly, perhaps. One wonders what kind of romance miss and miss may tell about…”
Vasilisa seeds the floor to Maricela, flashing her a double thumbs up.
“Oh very fast, I think.” Elaine says, smile still in her voice. “His son wanted him dead very much.” But then she falls silent, watching for the next one to tell.
Maricela taps the card with one of her painted nails, glancing about, before she nods to Regaldo. “I think Tio is goin’ to find him a pretty young Tia, one of them nurses at the hospital maybe, since he damn near lives there. He finna end up with half a dozen kids, and enough grandbabies and great grandbabies to pack a school.”
“Oooooh, world domination through babies!” Vasilisa says brightly.
Regaldo claps his hands together at Maricela’s revelation and gives two thumbs up. Probably does not believe a word of it but seems to appreciate the concept.
“That’s wonderful!” Elaine exclaims, apparently delighted. “You have such a bright future, so full of fortune!”
Yukino’s eyes spark up and she lightly claps her hands together, and turns to Regaldo. And then, she adds. “One finds she was wondering why sir Regaldo was spending so much time at the hospital…” She sighs, sweetly, again. “Sir Regaldo found someone he likes so much he forgets wounds might kill him, it seems…” She sighs, yet once more time, again. “One finds herself wanting to mention pity for the nurse, perhaps…”
The eye roll from Regaldo at Yukino’s remark are only outdone by the jiggle of his gut as he silently laughs.
Maricela definitely wasn’t just holding spores like a weirdo… probably.
Regaldo would not put it past Maricela.
“One observes herself preferring sir Regaldo and miss nurse to find a better ending…” Yukino says, tilting her head. “One thinks she might be able to talk to the nurse, if sir Regaldo shares which.” She decides, and then turns to Vasilisa. “Miss drawn a card of Future’s Folly, might she share who she chooses and what she might share, if it is alright to ask?”
humming, Vasilisa closes her eyes, head tilted. when she opens her eyes, she lands on Yukino, a beaming smile to the woman following after.
Clearly trying to change off the topic of nurses and his tastes, Regaldo taps away on his phone with the device reciting, “So, about Vasya’s fortune?”
Vasilisa holds up her hands in a delicate heart. “Through a path of starlight and snow, you’ll find a person with impeccable manners. Yet, that person shall be a fae, and in order for your relationship to hold, shall require regular provision of artisanal wine.”
even through her mask, Vasilisa’s pout is audible. “and I can’t poetry.”
“One wonders if that might refer to k-” Yukino starts to say, then stops. She lets out a deep sigh. “One finds such a thing to be quite sweet… long as one finds herself honored. Oh, sweet sweet love…” One more deep sigh. “One thinks she might be quite pretty in this unworthy one’s dreams…” She says, yearning.
“What wonderful news for you, Miss Yukino!” Elaine looks to Yukino, hand coming to her cheek. “I must offer you congratulations for your future love, for it must be joyous!”
“Promising prospects indeed!” Vasilisa says happily.
“One merely knows she might be quite unworthy…” Yukino says, letting out another long sigh. “One finds it best not to dare the winds.”
She looks at the cards. “One finds two of the future… and two of the past.” She looks from person to person, and then reaches out. “One finds it is her time to pick one, it seems.”
Yukino uses a deck of Future’s Folly: Exchange a trinket, ring, or key / Pretend it means eternity.53 (Exchange something meaningless. Pretend it was important.)
From among her belongings, Yukino picks out a cookie and walks around the table, until coming to a stop by Maricela’ side. Both of her hands hold it up. She breaks it into two parts and offers one with both of her hands to the other woman. “One recalls… the concept of Ichigo Ichi…”
“One recalls sir Axle to have shared this cookie with this unworthy one earlier…” She pauses with a tragic sigh. “Ichigo Ichi was… One time and one meeting.” And then “Once in a lifetime.” She stares. “One observes herself sure she will not see sir Axle again, one shares this once in a lifetime item with miss Mari if she might honor this unworthy one.” She dips her head deeply into the full bow, holding the half of the cookie up above her head for Maricela.
Maricela gasps, and bundles Yukino into a hug and says, “Oh, Yukino, you ain’t need to… but it’s such an honor,” and accepts her half of a cookie, fussing over Yukino once she releases her.
Maricela cradles the cookie as though it were as precious as Yukino is.
Yukino nibbles her own half of the cookie afterwards, straightening and smiling brightly at Maricela. She dips her head one more time before biting, hiding it with her free hand. “One finds herself grateful for sharing this moment with this unworthy one…” She, once again, sighs deeply. “Would miss also be willing to honor everyone with drawing the next card, perhaps`”
Maricela uses a deck of Cards Past: You wore their ring, their coat, their name / and smiled like it was just a game.53 (Tell us of the time you wore something meant for someone else.)
Maricela very pointedly looks down at her pants and admits, “I ain’t even know whose pants these were originally, I grew up in a house where cousins just live there sometimes, sometimes they things just get… left. I ended up with these pants a couple years ago, they mad comfy and they… remind me of the good parts of home, now I’m here,” she admits, trying not to hunch into herself as her feelings allergies attack.
Vasilisa reaches over to pat someone’ arm. “you can still talk to them, right? this is just a new start!”
Vasilisa reaches over to pat Maricela’s arm. “you can still talk to them, right? this is just a new start!”
“But at least you have a memory of home.” Elaine says, a bit too cheerfully. “It will bring you joy in times where there might not be any before! But, those times are ever farther between.”
Vasilisa uses a deck of Cards Past:
Regaldo pats Maricela lightly on the shoulder and gives her a reassuring squeeze.
Vasilisa uses a deck of Cards Past: You broke the rules for no real cause / Just liked the echo when time paused.53 (Speak of when you broke the rules, just to see if they mattered.)
“One is grateful for miss sharing.” Yukino says, briefly glancing to the shop’s entrance and at something, only to then walk back around the table to her former place. “Miss must have had quite the romance, one thinks…” She smiles. “One wonders about who might had been very sad to be left behind…” Another very deep sigh.
Yukino turns herself to consider Vasilisa. “Might miss share upon that which fate imposes on miss to share, if it is not too forward to ask?” She asks, looking at Vasilisa’s new card.
Regaldo reaches over and prods someone in the side.
Regaldo reaches over and prods Vasilisa in the side.
“nooo!” Vasilisa protests, squirming away from the poking fingers. she holds up her hands, fingers beginning. “I have a good one!”
“nooo!” Vasilisa protests, squirming away from the poking fingers. she holds up her hands, fingers wiggling. “I have a good one!”
“One wonders if miss might share her good fortune.” Yukino says, looking at Vasilisa with a sweet smile.
Vasilisa snaps her fingers before she continues. “It was about, 9 years ago? when I was still in the Bolshoi academy. We were supposed to reherse the nutcracker the night before a recital. And weren’t allowed to touch the costumes. I thought that the sugarplum faerie could use more sparkle so a friend and I snuck in, and folded a glitter bomb into the costume. It went off mid performance.” she bounces lightly upon her chair. “Madame was furious.”
Elaine lets out a startled laugh.
Yukino smiles and makes a small dip of her head. “One finds… school can be more interesting when people can be observed to do things that are tricky.” She says, making one of her habitual dips of her head to Vasilisa. “If it is alright to ask… might miss share about how people reacted?”
“Most thought it was a stagehand who did it. People in the audiance though, I remember seeing some phones out.” Vasilisa mentions with a giggle. “Madame had worked with us for years, and knew better about who did it. we all got extra practice.”
Regaldo blinks at Vasilisa while looking amused. “Sounds like you brightened up the performance.” chirps from his phone after he taps at it for a moment.
With a curious nod, Yukino then turns to Elaine “Might miss sister choose the next card, perhaps?”
“Of course!” Elaine says, hand darting out to pluck a card and flip it over.
Elaine uses a deck of Future’s Folly: Leave behind what isn’t missed: / a note, a glove, a glimpse, a twist.53 (Leave behind a token – a note, a glove, a look.)
Elaine studies the card curiously.
“Well…” Elaine muses. “I, don’t really have a note, or something to leave behind, and it would be much more delightful to stay rather than leave with a look!” She shrugs. “Does anyone perhaps have a pen and paper?”
Regaldo pats his pockets briefly only to shake his head to Elaine.
Vasilisa leans over to murmur something to Elaine, before slipping her a delicate pastry.
“One wonders if miss might prefer… finding a wolf, perhaps…” Yukino wonders to Elaine “One she finds she can leave behind here, perhaps…”
“Of course!” Elaine says brightly. And then, she’s moving, darting for the door. “A moment!” She says, giving a look back to Yukino.
Regaldo curiously watches the happenings by the door while tapping out on his phone, “Do we have a party pooper?”
Vasilisa says “hi! “
Yukino gestures to the two decks “Might sir feel like joining and drawing the next card, perhaps?” She asks, smiling.
Following behind Boaz, Elaine retakes her place by the table. “And I have left a look! Perhaps a wolf, it is a joyous thing, this game!” She clasps her hands again, eyes twinkling behind the mask.
Boaz uses a deck of Future’s Folly: Let someone choose your path tonight / Then follow through, for wrong or right.53 (Offer someone a choice on your behalf. Accept their answer.)
Regaldo gives a solid thumbs up in Elaine’s direction.
Yukino smiles “Might sir impose upon that which fate may have chosen for him, perhaps?”
Vasilisa shifts to lean into Elaine’s side as she returns.
Elaine doesn’t make much of an obvious move as she becomes Vasilisa’s support, though the corners of her eyes do crinkle.
Boaz gives everybody a quick wave, feeling a little out of place but rolling with it, and draws a card. “Says Let someone choose your path tonight / Then follow through, for wrong or right.”
“Seems the fridge finally consumed Livingston.” chirps from Regaldo’s phone in a neutral tone. He doesn’t elaborate.
Boaz strokes his bushy beard and points at Yukino, “You there, where should I sleep tonight?”
Maricela glances up, up, up, up at the tall guy, from her chair she’s sitting on, backwards.
Regaldo fires off a text while nearly mirroring someone.
Regaldo fires off a text while nearly mirroring Maricela.
Maricela glances down at her phone, then up to Regaldo, and says, “Same.”
Yukino eyes Boaz, then glances along the other people seated by the table. Then she looks back at Boaz. “One recalls a place known as New Faith Homeless Shelter, perhaps. If sir might be lacking a home… ” She pauses, thinks on something, then continues “…he might feel a little welcome there, one thinks.”
Vasilisa turns her head into Elaine’s shoulder to hold back the giggles.
“I was gonna say squat at the hotel,” Maricela answers, unasked.
Boaz grunts at Yukino, “Alright, place has better grub than most.” He looks around the table and rumbles, “What now?”
Regaldo gestures towards Boaz then to the trunk and chest before tapping his own mask.
“Now, you introduce yourself!” Elaine says lightly, and then nods. “Oh! And pick a mask, yes. And we continue to play!”
Yukino turns to Regaldo. “One wonders if sir Regaldo might try a card next, perhaps?”
Regaldo bobs his head in a nod as he reaches out towards the cards and draws one from the Folly deck.
Regaldo uses a deck of Future’s Folly: Swap a token, brief and slight / but carry it into the night.53 (Swap a piece of clothing or jewelry with someone. Make it mean something.)
Maricela snaps a selfie.
Regaldo glances down at himself for a moment and twists the ring from his finger. He bounces it lightly in his palm before offering it to Yukino.
Tapping away at his phone after Regaldo passes the ring to Yukino, the phone recites in a neutral tone, “It decided I needed to swap something, a token, with someone. So, I give you my ring. Keep it safe.”
Yukino tilts her head when someone offers her his ring. She holds out both of her hands and looks at it. In exchange… she shuffles around her items… and finds a white bra. She definitely does not remove it from herself and seemed to have simply been carrying it.
Yukino tilts her head when Regaldo offers her his ring. She holds out both of her hands and looks at it. In exchange… she shuffles around her items… and finds a white bra. She definitely does not remove it from herself and seemed to have simply been carrying it.
Boaz palms a stone mask from the trunk and puts it on. He takes a seat as he says, “Name be Boaz Gault, pleasure.”
Vasilisa lets out a strangled sound against Elaine’s shoulder weazing
With no ceremony, Regaldo plops the bra on his head like a hat and gives Yukino a thumbs up.
Elaine pats Vasilisa on the back, her own shoulders trembling slightly.
Maricela also snaps a picture of someone.
Maricela also snaps a picture of Regaldo.
“Thank you so much for doing this, Yukino.” Vasilisa beams as she stands, arms going around Yukino in a hug. “I look forward to another round if you do this again. I hate to leave early, but sleep keeps calling.”
“Rest well.” chirps from Regaldo’s phone as he offers Vasilisa a wave.
“you too when you do!” Vasilisa says to Regaldo with a thumbs up.
Elaine’s eyes flick to Vasilisa, and she also adds a “Sleep well. Tomorrow.”
“Get you to sleep, Vas, ‘fore you end up fallin’ out somewhere public again,” Maricela suggests to Vasilisa.
“I’ll try not to this time.” Vasilisa says with a giggle to Maricela, before she bounces over to Elaine, hugging her tightly before she makes for the door.
“Also, sort of rude to demand someone identify themselves and not do so yourselves.” chirps from Regaldo’s phone after he taps at the keys only for the large man to twist his mask aside and start tapping again, “You may call me Regaldo.” chirps out with the man giving a thumbs up.
“Oh! You weren’t here the first time?” Elaine reaches up to lift her own mask, putting a hand to her cheek as she smiles. “Elaine. Its a pleasure to give a name to the face.”
Yukino hides a giggle behind a hand when someone puts the bra on his head, and grins, smugly, when her hand lowers. “Sir Regaldo might be quite admirable like this, perhaps…” She sighs, longingly, and turns to Maricela. “might the Empress draw the next card? One finds… the last cards may be the most… auspicious, it seems.”
Vasilisa did just not forget to return the mask
“People call me Mari,” Maricela offers to Boaz, as close as he’s getting to her name.
Regaldo manages to take the mask off -without- disturbing the bra.
Yukino hides a giggle behind a hand when someone puts the bra on his head, and grins, smugly, when her hand lowers. “Sir Regaldo might be quite admirable like this, perhaps…” She sighs, longingly, and turns to everyone else. “One finds it might be a good time to consider this game evening for an end, perhaps… It would seem… a second card was drawn, a second fate… one fears what the fae may do if a third were drawn.”
Yukino hides a giggle behind a hand when Regaldo puts the bra on his head, and grins, smugly, when her hand lowers.
Regaldo gives a playful wink to Yukino as the woman giggles only to consider her remarks and give a nod, which causes the bra atop his head to precariously wobble.
Flipping her own mask between her hands, Elaine dips her head, expression becoming much less joyful, though still not impolite. “Thank you for hosting, Miss Yukino. It was a wonderful evening.”
“Also, little miss.” comes from Regaldo’s phone as he ambles over to Yukino and goes to lightly bonk her on the head with a meaty hand and then types out, “Stop calling yourself unworthy.”
“Once everyone finds themselves ready to return the masks… one finds she will collect them and clean up. She might have rented the establishment for the night…” Yukino admits, standing up. She gives Regaldo a look, tilts her head. “One finds herself merely of simple ability, sir Regaldo. And in certain things, one observes herself to be quite unworthy.”
“This mask is wild,” Maricela says, slipping free another, fitting it over her face a moment.
Regaldo gives Yukino a withering glance before turning and slipping the mask into the trunk.
Elaine makes for the trunk, setting her own mask gently inside.
