After speaking with other shop/store owners IC, I wanted to bring this up for discussion and also get more player feedback here on shops and stores. The weekly profits from shop/stores does not seem to match the amount that players have spent in stores. While I don’t have an exact numerical accounting of everything, here’s an example:
I own Store X. My own PC has spent Y amount in Store X and other players have IC reported buying things in Store X. But the profit isn’t accurately reflected when paid out OR my weekly profit is zero (again, despite knowing that items were bought/sold that week).
My understanding is in H6 profit was not 100% of what was spent in the store, but the amount paid out for Store X feels low even knowing that it wouldn’t be 100%. I don’t know what % of profit is considered in H7, but I do want to put out there that it feels low.
While I understand that we don’t want to overly flood the economy, I do think it’s worth giving a second look in terms of increasing the amount of profit store/shop players receive.
My payout was 4 bucks last week. But I also only have a shop compared to a store. I also don’t know how much of the influence earned is from rp in the shop and what is just me doing my normal rp.
Last I played, newbie credit didn’t count for these purposes and didn’t go to the shop owner. Has that changed? Or could this account for the difference?
In H6, Newbie Credit and Cash from shops both went to the owner after being calculated through a formula. Only for goods actually purchased with the Buy command, not for items customized (and value raised) though.
What Entropy said re: newbie credit. If that’s the case though it’s very possible the new shopping credit isn’t being applied toward purchases and it’s purely cash profits.
But I don’t think that’s quite right because one of my stores has no cash-only priced items and I still got like a single dollar profit the other week.
I’ve gotten no profits this week across my 3 active businesses. 1 is a shop and 2 are stores. While I know my particular stores are somewhat niche and I don’t expect major profits, it does seem very unlikely that there are 0 profits across all of them.
I too have only received cash only from my store despite watching people buy things. The amounts are very little like 23 dollars. But it’s cash only. I put on a petition and it just said investigated.
I don’t think I’ve ever received a profit at all. I didn’t even realize that we got a special message when we got one, I just assumed it like filtered invisibly into our payouts.
Are we supposed to get an explicit message that we’ve earned a profit?
Yes, when you get your notification about pay day you can do ‘message view’ and it should tell you ‘xyz shop made x profit’ and have some numbers next to it. Or something similar.
