Recently, there was a bit of a debate on the Newbie channel regarding vampire lore.
Help Monstrosity is gone, and with it all references to vampires being affected by some kind of Thirst that sometimes takes over and makes them unable to stop feeding.
Help Vampires provides other explanations for why vampire bites sometimes lead to death, but loss of control is not among them.
While there is often a lot of leeway in how people are allowed to play their archetype, I wanted to ask:
1. Is it meant to be an innate and universal part of the archetype that vampires sometimes simply lose control and drink people to death?
2. Is Help Monstrosity meant to still be in play to support this?
I find loss of control less interesting than willful choice to take a risk, but I want to play to lore as written and intended. Thank you.
