(An attempt to thwart Jakem’s Uninvite(Matias):Matias)
[Sat Sep 20 2025]
On Mariner Avenue/span>night, about 59F(15C) degrees, and there are clear skies. The mist is heaviest At Carnation and Lake/span> There is a waning crescent moon.
“So what is the goss about Robert?” Eloa seems to remember what they were talking about before well… before. Looking around at everyone, Eloa is at least wearing ankle boots which also include heels. So hopefully there isn’t too much running around required to handle whatever it is that is going on. Settling her side strung bag on her hip, Eloa glances at the others.
The Illusium Court and Teagan have gathered outside the Wild Bloom and Threads near the beach. Matias is checking his phone and with enough people remaining after an odd loss of time that afflicted the entire city. Someone should definitely look into that later. The latino Professor says… “So we have an entity collecting teeth allegedly. Possibly the real tooth fairy or just a dream of one that passes between the dreamscape and reality because Children believe.”
There is a tucking of his phone away as he looks between the three women and comments, “So the way I see it we likely need to appease the tooth fairy. I would presume with -teeth- which do not grow on trees and I do not think a bunch of us chasing down children to take their baby teeth will play well in the local news. Alternatively we can find whomever is angering the entity and simply deal with them. Fae are fickle and if they are not continiously antagnozing it than it will eventually move on. Probably. Any preferences?” he inquires to the group even Teagan gets a considering look.
Lorelei doesn’t look like she has the faintest clue what’s going on, but she falls into step with the others all the same, tucking her hands into the pockets of her fluttery romper. She gives a low, little whistle as though she’s just out for a stroll, blue-green eyes flicking curiously between Eloa, Teagan, and Matias with a half-smile that doesn’t quite hide her uncertainty.
Teagan who is so often in more practical attire is one of the ones who certainly isn’t today. Heels, a short skirt. At least she’s in a warm wool coat. She finally tucks her phone away. “Robert and I had a very… strong difference of opinion today is all.” She looks to Matias as he explains, lips twisting slightly in a frown. “I would just like to ask first,” she voices, quietly, though she does lift a hand to rub absently at her sternum. Does she have heartburn? “There’s reports of… notes left about returning what is mine? Do we know what that’s referencing?” There is a stop as she comes to a complete stand-still and a tilt of her head. “Well, wait… no, but…” Another small shake of her head. “Sorry, only thought I had relating to the tooth fairy and theft was the Hogfather and while Terry Pratchett is a genius I doubt that has any relation here and has to do with the power of a child’s belief anyway.” By the end of this, she is largely just mumbling to herself.
Dovie slinks over towards the front of her shop, glancing between Matias, Eloa, Lorelei, and Teagan. “Teeth for the tooth fairy, hmm?” She hums a moment. “Will kobold teeth do? Or must it be human? Supernatural?” she wonders to the others before her gaze turns back to Matias. “Do we know who it is who has angered the Tooth Fairy?”
“The tooth fairy is what’s forcing people out of their homes?” Eloa asks Matias grumbling as she automatically puts her hand to her mouth as if guarding the possibility of trading /her/ teeth to the tooth fairy for it to go away. As Teagan speaks, Eloa falls silent since Teagan is sprouting alot of information that… the latina seems to have trouble following. Running her fingers through her hair, Eloa waves at Dovie rejoins them and then goes to lean against one of the other’s cars because well, her horse isn’t very amenable to leaning against. “We cannot just find tooth fairy and make them go away? Or give them like… one of those titan tooth or something? Dinosaur tooth? There is a museum here somewhere right…” She looks around as if she can see a museum in the distance but it’s probably wishful thinking.
“So someone has -framed- us for angering the tooth fairy. So Jakem or the Wonder Cult has basically found a third party to pose as us. Stealing… Teeth from the Toothfairy. So we either need to appease the toothfairy to stop harassing court members -or- we need to find the people antagonizing the tooth fairy and run them out of town.” Matias confirms for Dovie and then Teagan and Eloa. “We could, I suppose go find some mist monsters and collect bags of teeth. Or we can try and track down the people framing us they must be hiding in Bayview it is not that big. Alternatively we could -fight- the Tooth Fairy but we have no idea how powerful they are and it is likely we might have our waking mind and dream personas swapped during the fight.”
Dovie nods resolutely at Matias. “I say we hunt down those responsible. Karma! As you say, Bayview is a smaller borough of the city anyway,” she surmises, glancing to the others for their thoughts.
Lorelei tips her head back, blue-green eyes flicking up toward the waning crescent moon as if it might hand her an answer. Then she presses her lips together, fighting a grin. “It’s almost two-thirty,” she points out with a little sing-song lilt, clearly tickled by her own tooth pun. “That’s got to mean something, right?” She rocks back on her heels and gestures vaguely, curls bouncing. “Like… do dentists actually keep the real teeth? Could we raid an office and find a whole jar? My gut says it has to be human, otherwise we’d just dump a box of shark teeth on the porch and call it a night.”
“I would assume it has to be human too. I also am very annoyed so I would not mind thrashing someone.” Matias confesses to Lorelei at Dovie’s suggestion but looks to Eloa and Teagan for any counterpoints. Even so he pulls a saint minted coin from his pocket holding it between his thumb and forefinger in preparation for… something.
“It is probably easier just to beat up whoever is upsetting the tooth fairy and stealing from it. Do you think… children in Haven are allowed to even put teeth under their pillow? Wouldn’t… it invite something horrible in? Are there even children? There are no primary schools here..” A contemplative look crosses Eloa’s face as if just realizing this horrible city has no children.. no families with young kids or babies. Hell the hospital doesn’t even have a maternity ward! You’d probably have to go to boston for that. “What a horrible city we live in..”
“There is a highschool.” Matias reminds Eloa but glances to Teagan as she goes on about how horrible New Haven is… as the resident ‘local’.
Dovie blinks in surprise at Eloa. “Of course there are children. There’s plenty of families, children, and babies born every day in the city,” she replies to Eloa, looking entirely puzzled.
Eloa blinks back at Dovie, “Where? There is no maternity ward.. Are you sure if you were pregnant you would want to have baby here in THIS city where a ghost can possess your baby.. or someone might want a easy heart for fleshforming?” The look on the latina’s face tells Dovie that she would probably be far, farrrrrrr away.
“Boston isn’t far away at all, it’s strange to think that there are no families here in the city that is populated by all sorts,” Dovie replies to Eloa’s hypothetical.
“Dentists usually give teeth to the parents for the children. Or they go in medical waste.” Teagan provides… likely unhelpfully. She scrolls through text threads on her phone in one hand, other hand lifted and elbow propped on the phone-holding arm so she can chew on her thumbnail. “Yes we put teeth under pill… well, I recall doing so.” She doesn’t really seem overly bothered by the dissing of her home anymore. She has largely accepted the fact that she is quote-unquote ‘not real.’ At least at the moment.
“I just… I don’t understand,” she says, again, mostly to herself. “This and the New Temple thing he’s never said a word about, but kidnapping Evalina as a prank, sure. Other so-called pranks, totally. But nothing about…”
“Eloa, every ward has at least one park, some have almost five. Playgrounds for children and children in them.” Matias reminds Eloa before clearing his throat, “But! Maternity wards aside, I will just do a little scrying ritual and see which building is magically warded from me and then we will go check it. So give me a few minutes. Talk amongst yourselves.”
Lorelei folds her arms under her chest and gives Eloa a look that lands somewhere between scandalized and bemused. “No children? What do you think we all are, conjured out of mist and credit card debt?” she teases, though the way her brows lift makes it clear she actually finds the thought a little unsettling. She shifts her weight and glances around the group, curls shivering in the sea breeze. “But still… I like the idea of thrashing whoever stole from the fairy better than handing over a jar of molars. That just feels gross. And knowing Haven, they’d be like… artisanal teeth, locally sourced, non-GMO.”
Dovie nods towards Matias. “Thank you.” She glances around out at the neighborhood, keeping an eye out for any strange things in the borough.
With his intent clear Matias lifts up the saint minted coin and begins reciting a litany prayer in spanish. Something aking to Oh God, help. Reveal that which we cannot see. Provide us revelations so we might know. So on so forth. The saint minted tin coin in his hand begins to hum almonst like a tuning fork and the resonance spreads out and then echoes back gradually growing further and further away and probably waking up the entire borough by the end of it. It will take a hot minute though, rituals are not instant even for Matias
“We all came here through the mists. Who knows if we’re real or not?” Eloa asks Lorelei with a lifted eyebrow as if suddenly deciding to lean into the theme of horror with all this talk of children existing or not existing. “What if all our memories are fake… and we are put here into this world as experiment? Like that um movie… with the mazes. Mazerunner.” Eloa snaps her finger as she finally remembers the name. Her hazel eyes glance at Matias as he starts to cast the ritual but given it’s mostly safe and Matias is just casting a ritual Eloa continues chatting. “How can you tell your past was real?”
Dovie continues scanning the streets as Matias prays and the others chat. She unconsciously reaches up to her cheek, rubbing her jaw, as it to reassure herself that her organic, non-GMO teeth are indeed still there and not magically whisked away by some mischief makers. “If the Tooth Fairy is fae, I wonder what the bargain is in return. What they provide to people,” she muses quietly for a moment, her eyes alert, even as she stands in a darker part of the street outside of the glow of the old street lights.
Lorelei’s lips part in a soft laugh at Eloa’s dramatic lean into horror, though there’s a nervous glimmer in her eyes as she hugs herself a little tighter. “If my memories are fake, someone put a lot of effort into making me sexy and chaotic instead of, like, a nuclear physicist,” she muses, voice pitched light but laced with unease. Her gaze drifts toward Dovie in the shadows, the siren’s head tilting curiously. “Maybe that’s the real deal with the Tooth Fairy. Not coins. But the dispoal of dangerous artifacts of your youth, who knows what kind of witchcraft you could get up to with enough of someone’s teeth.” She bares hers in a cheeky grin, though the mood of it doesn’t quite shake the chill up her spine.
Unfortunately, Teagan is not so lucky and does have GMO teeth. The whole mixing of genetics from parent to child is technically genetic modification. Just not done in a lab! But she has been, every so often, rubbing at her own jaw. It’s just what happens. Like manual breathing. (You’re welcome.) “Based on certain theories, we are all one singular person and just different aspects of that person. In others, we only exist so long as we believe we exist. Still others say that we’re all just part of a simulation.” Did Matias think to warn anyone how her brain works once she’s off and trying to solve a puzzle? She is still scrolling her phone, reading, reading through threads. Trying to find some clue.
Eventually the echo of the humming from the coin comes back sour. They are at 31 Mariner and there is distinct sour warble coming from the northwest. That would be the Bayview borough. Lights are beginning to turn on in homes. This isn’t some amazing only arcanists can hear it dog whistle this is a literal tuning fork humming note that just emnates into the air and comes back with an echo. The group has only so long before someone shoots them, the cops show up, or a task force of sleep deprived unified Faction members mug Matias to stop the racket.
“We just follow the noise. There is a warded building. I could not scry within it and the magical ward is causing the trace to make that noise.” Matias explains to the ground as his eyes open and he switches back to english with a brazilian accent. “Do we all want to walk or I can ride with Eloa, you all follow in your cars?” but he suggests to Dovie, “Instead of coins it is probably a pleasant dream. Children rarely slip into the dreamscape unless they are sensitive or very psychically talented. The Tooth Fairy could be the source of those dreams from your childhood that stay with you and you talk about for years to come. Like I won a baseball game once or the day I decided to be a fireman or something.” and then to Lorelei, “You can do a lot with teeth. Bone is a strong binding and the bone of a living being is particularly powerful when used to target them.” and for Teagan with an eyeballing, “Someone read that short story where the world is an egg and everyone in the world throughout history is a single being living a billion lives until they evolve to a God. The most fair afterlife the writer could conceive… Anyway horse, cars, walking?”
“Given we all slipped some time and … slipped more time before that wandering out of our houses, maybe we all just walk together?” Eloa suggests to Matias as she uneasily takes her cross out from underneath her sweater. The heavy silver cross hangs in the valley of her breasts, glittering in the moonlight, “Safety in groups that way if something jumps us….” We can all fight back are the unspoken words as she instinctively takes a few steps until shes by Matias’s side. Maybe she’s spooked herself with her own horror.
Dovie seems interested by Lorelei’s musings, but before she can speak, she blinks to consider Teagan’s theories. And as she opens her mouth to speak, there’s that noise. The type that raises the hair on the back of her neck, nodding at Eloa. “Yes, I wouldn’t mind staying together. Surely that could not hurt.”
Lorelei slips her fingers through Dovie’s without hesitation, swinging their joined hands once with a lighthearted flourish, as if to turn the eerie night into a fairy-tale promenade. “Off we go then,” she lilts, her smile wide and a touch mischievous, though the tightness in her shoulders betrays nerves she’s not voicing. Her gaze darts toward the northwest, where the sour hum still echoes, then back to the group with a wink, trying to keep the mood playful despite the chill creeping up her spine.
Fighting back is not even something on Teagan’s mind. Not much actually is beyond the theoretical puzzle, though she does glance up to Matias once she realizes he’s speaking to her. “Hmm? Well, yes. It’s a close cousin to solipsism though, I’d say. Maybe easier to conceive. Like… Baby’s First Philosophy? The one with a happy ending? Before it delves into the ‘everything is bad and will always be bad and can only be bad no matter what you do so be a nihilist, the end.'” But it does make her realize that oh god that pain at the base of her skull is- she winces and tilts her head a bit to the side, moving a bit quickly to catch up as the others decide to walk. She does cast a quick glance back to her car.
Teagan says “Ah, pun not intended.“
Wrapping her arm around Matias’s as the others decides to walk, Eloa winces a little because well that puts her closer to his coin and the annoying noise. “Well.. maybe we will get an angry mob of residents joining us to get them to shut down the noise.. Especially if they wake up to go to the bathroom and find themselves outside of their house in indoor only slippers.” The worst offence.
Dovie smiles, at least she tries to, despite the tension creeping into her body from that infernal noise.
North to the edge of the bay. Even at this early hour the Casino lights are on and cast illumination onto the water. Cutting westward and back inland the group walks along the sidewalks. House lights and cars honk angrily at Matias as they pass. Some voices can be heard shouting, “Turn that off.” It is zigzag north a block, west a block, north a block from there. Eventually they arrive near Intersection 229 and the Liberty Square Storage facility. It looks to be closed up for the night, all locked tight and should anyone try and pick the lock or force the door it is indeed a warded building. Pocketing the coin the warbling sour note echo vanishes as does the tuning note. Hopefully before mobs form. “Okay so they are inside we can either try and bait them outside but they probably heard that noise the whole time.” he comments to the group while examining the exterior of the storage building. “Or Eloa and I can use decaying rites and bring down the ward so we can break inside and deal with them. They will almost have an ambush ready for us.”
Meanwhile Teagan highly suspects the reason the children between 6 – 12 is because those children are losing their teeth naturally. So the Toothfairy is appeased by them where as the reason the adults are being targeted is because they have stolen the children’s teeth form the fae entity. Maybe they are with the culprits in this storage facility just jars and bags of split open teeth. They split when they dry afterall.
Dovie nods at Matias as the group approaches the Liberty Square Storage Facility. Those blue eyes of hers dart around, in search of cameras, ready to give them a good stare… for the benefit of the group.
There are indeed security cameras outside this storage facility. At least on the backlot entrance and the front which Dovie deals with thus cutting off any spying culprits inside the building that were watching the approach of the group!
“We can take a look around the outside. Ward is useless if someone leaves a window or door open.” Giving the others a look – and waiting for Dovie to do her magic although, Eloa isn’t sure what magic since cameras don’t really show they’re on or off, Eloa takes a breath and turns into a bird in a cocoon of light that blossoms into a thousand petals that disappear as they hit the ground. Lifting into the air with a clusmy flutter of wings, Eloa takes to the skies, soaring around the warehouse to see if she can find an entrance.
Lorelei shifts her weight onto one hip, looping her free hand into the pocket of her romper while still clasping Dovie’s with the other. Her blue-green eyes flick toward the dark storage facility with a mix of suspicion and curiosity. “What do you think?” she muses, voice sweetly airy. “Dwayne Johnson, Bowie, Julia Roberts? I wonder what type of faerie we got here.” The little joke comes with a sly smile, though her gaze lingers sharp on the locked doors, as if half-expecting teeth to start spilling out between the cracks.
There are in fact no open doors or windows in the magically warded building occupied by people hired to pick a fight with an eldritch fae entity known as the tooth fairy to frame the Illusium Court because why would they be so silly as to undo the ward they are maintaining?
Back to chewing on her thumbnail, Teagan only lags behind the group a little. Not only because of distraction but because she really is not used to wearing heels. The most walking she planned to do was from her car to a bar and from a bar to her car. (As well as from and to her dorm but that doesn’t rhyme quite so well.) “So the dreaming part may be the… prank part,” she says finally, wincing at the sudden, bright, blinding light without any warning. She grimaces, blinking away the aftershocks with some mumbled annoyance. “Uhm, any-” squint at phone through glasses. “Aaaaanyway. Children lose their teeth naturally. Adults don’t. Right? The tooth fairy wouldn’t have any problem with the kids. But adults… well, they’re stealing the children’s teeth. In theory. Essentially. Could be the teeth inside the building?”
“I hope it’s a Bowie, but with my luck it’ll be an Aston Kutcher,” Dovie decides to Lorelei. “Hmmm, bringing down the wards will help, but I’m afraid, I’ll not be helpful with that, in particular.” She turns towards Teagan. “Maybe they are! We’ll see. Maybe the Tooth Fairy will be happy we provided the correct teeth and reward us with… whatever they give.”
“Anyone have a good idea to bait them outside or shall I begin the rite to lower the ward and make it possible to break in?” Matias inquires to the remaining three women while Eloa(A.hyacinthinus) is scouting the building and then Lorelei and Dovie are pitting their magics against the glass of the windows and doors. He watches quizzically
Dovie reaches into her enchanted handbag and begins to wrap her vest on.
Doing a lap of the building, Eloa(A.hyacinthinus) tries to note all the exits and entrances before returning. She flutters down onto Matias’s shoulder, preening his hair with her beak for a moment before fluttering back down and shift back.
Eloa says “is the reason the noise is still ongoing because we need to make them think we haven’t found them yet?“
Eloa asks given well.. they’re at the warehouse..
No need for Matias to cast another ritual or someone to find an entrance. Although there are the following exit: A back door, a back rolling gate that is big enough for a box truck, and a front double door they are currently standing at. The two cameras one in front and one in back are disabled. Lorelei and Dovie’s magics manage to resonate through the ward and shatter the glass on the double doors and now any ol person can risk cutting their arm on the glass and opening the door from the other side! Meanwhile Matias draws out his SNS 9mm pistol from the small of his back and whistles for someone to return.

Dodge the bullets and the magic and you know… find the teeth would you please if they are in there.”
No need for Matias to cast another ritual or the Macaw to find an entrance. Lorelei tips her head back slightly, lashes lowering as she lets a low hum slip from her throat. It isn’t loud, but the resonance curls through the air like a tuning fork catching its own echo. The oppressive warble from the warded building falters against her counter-harmony, thinning into something less suffocating. Her coppery curls tremble faintly with the vibration, and she presses one hand lightly to her sternum as if channeling the sound from deep inside her. The effect is oddly soothing, enough to steady frayed nerves while still leaving the group sharp and focused.
Dovie nods to Matias, waiting for that ward to lower, and for the signal to continue, bright eyes trying to find a point of ingress once the wards are down.
“Yes. Dodge the bullets.” Teagan manages to say this in a complete and total deadpan. She does at least put her phone away. And with a glance down at her feet she considers briefly… before spotting some broken glass nearby. Welp. Blisters and a possible broken ankle are better than running on THIS ground! She shuffles to wait well behind and to the side. Out of the way.
Of, y’know.
The bullets.
There are two large double doors like the front of any kind of industry business. The windows on the double doors are shattered and Matias moves over and reaches in carefully to open it from the otherside and swing it inward… The point of ingress is found! Now they just need to enter the building and be ambushed as there is a 0 percent chance those inside do not know they are coming.
There is a front desk with a light on inside. It has a computer off on the desk and seemingly no one there. There is then a hallway that goes down to an elevator with some turnoffs every 6 to 12ft where storage units dominate the bottom floor and the floors above. There is likely a big warehouse drive in near the back. So what order do our brave Court members go in?
“Well… should we send scouts in?” Eloa asks as she holds onto her cross and starts to pray. Light glimmers around her as something answers her prayer… A something that takes the shape of a capybara of course. She gives Matias a LOOK. As if Matias should know better than to stick his arm in! What if he gets shot and then shakes her head as he gives her a command. “Already on it why did you not use vine to open door.. Less risk of cut arm..”
is definitely not walking in the front of the group but is biting his thumb and drawing a symbol on his palm before pressing a seed into it. Dropping it onto the ground as it grotesquely begins to grow in a rapid rate.
Matias says “No let us just go in, there is going to be an ambush. No need to try and be stealthy.“
Dovie doesn’t hesitate to step forward. Perhaps it’s too brash of her, but she grips her katana, her steps silent. Nodding for the others to come on in as her eyes scan in whatever light (or dark) there is.
Once the capybara has been summoned, Eloa leans down to pet the cute rodent as it comes wriggling out of a portal on the ground. On the otherside there looks to be alot of trees or something. Leaning down, Eloa murmurs softly into the capybara’s ear which promptly starts to go around to the other side of the storehouse.
Dovie is first through the breach with a kevlar vest and a Katana! Silent steps do help a little for ambushes still need to know they are there. Dovie is easily able to deduce that these framing culprits are hiding in the back with her supernatural senses. Likely a little kill box to ambush the court members. Knowing where they are helps a little but there is still a need to get to them!
Eloa helps with that particullar problem sending the capybara summon to the back of the building to make a racket. During the confusion there may be an opportunity to rush the room and engage them while they unsure of where the group is entering from!
Dovie signals to her compatriots, pointing towards the back of the warehouse. But the course they may take there is up for debate!
Lorelei lingers back as the doors creak open, lips pursed like she already knows this is going to be bad news. Still, she slips a hand into some secret seam of her romper and, with a practiced little flourish, draws out a diving knife far too large to have been hidden there at all. The siren’s smile curves as if daring anyone to question it. She lifts her voice from her humming to sing-song a few bars of enchantment, and the air around her shimmers as an octopus made of fractured light and shifting jewel tones blossoms into motion beside her. Its glassy tentacles curl and stretch with eerie grace, each movement catching the dim light like shards of a cathedral window brought to life.
Definitely not first and probably even last (those vines between her and any bullets might actually be beneficial), Teagan does make her way into the warehouse, glad for all the sudden racket because while she is actually a relatively quiet person, heels are not (despite what the movies may imply) made for stealth on concrete floors in giant echoing warehouses. But when multiple things are making soundwaves all over the place? What’s a little more tippy-tappies. So off she goes to be out of the way, unobtrusive… and maybe start looking for …. containers? bags? empty peanut butter jars? of teeth.
BANG. BING. BONG. Eloa’s capybara is apparently trying to charge the garage door or something with it’s head while they’re going through the door that Matias has successfully broken and entered. Eloa follows well… second last because Teagan bagsed going last apparently and peers in, drawing a throwing knife from a back sheath. The blade is played through her hand as she keeps low and goes slow just so she doesn’t cop a gunshot to the head or something. BONG BANG. The racket continues.
Inside the warehouse there is a truck with ‘Illusium Court Theater’ branded on the side. Clearly the means of framing them. There is a middle-aged man hiding in the cab of the truck with a bow who opens the door and zing! fires at Dovie, but not until Dovie is able to get into the room. Meanwhile there are two middle-aged women near the rattling gate door. They have realized the ward is down and are about to open it and ambush the ‘group’ in the back with a MOLOTOV! they are pulling the chain as Lorelei sneaks in behind Dovie and has an opportunity to attack them. The last of the culprits is hiding in the rafters with what appears to be large pouches on their belt, they have an automatic rifle and begin raining bullets down on the group spray and praying wildly! Teagan manages not to die, good job Teagan. She does get blisters. The pain of heels. Eloa does not manage to slip in behind Dovie who juked that initial arrow and is immediately under fire from the spray and pray from the rafters!
Meanwhile Matias kind of peaks into the room, touches his rosary and with a sudden illuminating light around his body he lifts a hand up and lances lightning from his palm at the woman in the rafters with the teeth bags and the automatic weapon. It does not kill her, but it does knock her off to fall to the ground below. One of the heavy laden pouches goes sliding from her as she hits the ground and rolls, then slowly begins to get up!
Summary 1 man in the cab of the truck with a bow, 2 women at the rolling gate with a molotov and presumably a gun. Another woman fell from the rafters with an automatic rifle
Dovie manages to get out of the way of initial fire through that juking, trying to find some cover as she pulls her crossbow out, hand scrambling for a bolt, that she then aims at the woman in the rafters with the automatic rifle.
“Sweet jesus!” Eloa screams out as the bullets starts raining down all around her, shrieking, she runs back out as she gets grazed by a bullet, leaving a trail of blood. “Oh my god oh my god oh my god..” The pain is clearly getting to Eloa’s head as Eloa hides on the outside of the fighting, praying that the plaster well.. would be fine until the people with the machine guns are taken out!
Eloa gets lit up by bullets before the woman is knocked from the rafters by Matias when Dovie tries to shoot her upon landing, she manages to roll out of the way and blindly fire in Dovie’s direction as Matias goes scampering up some boxes apparently able to parkour… though those bullets are getting kind of close. Dovie’s arrow may have missed but the woman with the automatic gun still is not aiming and Eloa has managed to survive with grazes and superficial wounds from ricochets. Lorelei is able to distract the troup with the molotov cocktail by rushing them with a primastic octopi! They drop it at their feet and FWOOSH! The fire starts just as a Capybara summon bursts in and begins wreaking havoc. Now the building might burn out, whoops Lorelei. In the whole mess Teagan manages to avoid everything and can see the heavy pouch of presumably teeth right next to where Dovie’s arrow stuck into the concrete floor. Impressive strength and archery Dovie
Dovie grimaces and tries to take cover, peeking over to aim another bolt at the lady with the rifle above!
Teagan does, indeed, manage to not die! Primarily by nature of having ducked down behind some crates that are also behind some stairs. One or the other would not stop bullets. Both together would not stop a direct shot. But they can manage with ricochets and off shots fairly decently and that’s what matters. She spends a few seconds rubbing at one of her feet slipped halfway out of the heel. “Need some nice-” she mutters to herself, “shoulda worn the knee-highs…” For a split second when there’s a lull (there’s always a lull do you know how fast magazines actually run out on full-auto?! even semi-auto!) in the fire, Teagan gets up and starts scrambling across the floor in search of the teeth while also getting through the mess with a little, surprised shriek (oops, there goes her cover! Probably) as the fire starts up.
But she sees the bag! The target is in sight!
Lightning crackles around Eloa as Eloa whimpers from the pain and shakily, she pokes her head out, trying to send some lightning up towards the rafters at the one remaining person.
These culprits working for the Cult of Wonder are clearly Fae themselves. The battle of luck bending goes back and forth and impossible statistical improbabilities keep the fight going longer than one might imagine!
Lorelei ghosts in behind Dovie, her coppery curls haloed faintly in the dim light as her lips part on a low, lilting hum. A shimmer of Illusory Magic ripples outward, casting dazzling afterimages that flicker and shift around the molotov-wielders like mirrored doubles of herself. While their senses swim in the false reflections, her stained-glass octopus surges forward on refracting tentacles, shards catching every glint of light as it barrels toward them in a sudden rush. Swearing as the fire messily starts up she sort of gestures vaguely around with her knife until she finds it pointing at one of them befoer she lunges in wildly for a stab that is admittedly pretty clumsy.
Lorelei manages to stab the bajeebus out of one of the middle-aged women near the molotov flames. The woman yelps and then tries to wrestle with Lorelei to avoid being stabbed again! She had a rifle but the red-head with a diving knife is to close for that now! She even tries to bite Lorelei the bitch!
Eloa sends off an arc of lightning that ricochets around and then hits the top of the truck catching it on fire… Now two fires in the building and black smoke billows!
Wincing as Eloa’s lightning goes wild, Eloa ducks back out of the fight and pulls some bandages from her trusty bag to start wrapping up her richetes and grazes before she bleeds out too much. Hopefully her capybara does some damage because Eloa certainly isn’t doing much good today! “We should run! The building will come down!” She shouts as the smoke starts to fill the warehouse. At least she’s already on the ground and low!
Dovie’s hands shake and with all of the insanity going on – and smoke now on top of that, Dovie tries one last time to take a deep breath and try to push those distractions out of her mind as she focuses that woman once more. Hopefully for the last time, though with those two fires raging, who knows how long they’ll last.
Teagan succeeds in recovering the heavy sack of… yes teeth! Some are split! Ew kids have fucking cavities. Why did Teagan open the bag to check what it was?! What possessed her to do that for narrative purposes… Well whatever it was she has them and there is fire and gunshots and stabbings happening and she is in a skirt and heels. Knee highs were the right choice. She clearly needs to coordinate with Dovie Eloa and Lorelei about more practical attire in the future.
Especially when a bag of teeth has a VERY SPECIFIC SOUND AND FEEL. Seriously, think about it for a minute. Nothing else in the world is going to feel the same as sack of teeth all grinding and rubbing and catching on each other.
But Teagan did check and she gagged a little when she did. There’s no time now to try to be stealthy, but all the goons (probably dressed all Goonishly in matching Tees with Goon #1, Goon #2, Goon #… just like the Legion Soldiers do!) seem to be occupied anyway so she just books it for the exit and tries to avoid the fire, the debris, and any other stray shots that might still ring out.
Dovie and the woman exchanging arrows and bullets finally ‘hit’ one another Dovie spears her in the neck and *hrk* the blood sprays as the fires continue to spread! But Dovie catches a ricochet that sends shards of wood and broken cement up at her, shredding the hem of her nymph gown! No worries though for Lorelei and Dovie express their great displeasure at such fashion tragedy by doing a beat down. Is it to that really popular K-POP Demon hunters tune, maybe, probably not but they do beat the shit out of two middle-aged woman. In exchange they get some shin kicks and Lorelei 100/ has a bite on her neck and it is not the sexy kind.
Matias finally does something again and as the man in the cab of the truck is shooting arrows at him, he throws lightning back and the fire spreads inside with the smell of freshly seared people. Smalls like bad pig… With Eloa mentioning the building is coming down Matias calls out, “Did we get the bag?”
“We need to leave!” Eloa cries out at the others as the smoke starts to fill the room and starts trying to crawl out to not get too smoke logged. The woman’s on her hands and knees with a mini skirt on! Too bad she also has leggings so she doesn’t really show off that thicc latina ass but maybe it’s a good thing for less distractions. “I’m leaving!!” She yells as she catches a wiff of freshly cooked human.
Teagan is out, down the hall, and out the front door to the street!
Dovie runs out with the others, or at least she tries too in all of the insanity.
Eloa manages to clear the building the fire and get out onto the street!
Dovie manages to clear the building and get to the street looking fashionably disheveled. Like Princess Amedala (spelling) in the 2nd Star Wars movie. All the fabric tears are clearly accenting her great legs!
Something DID explode because the storage facility has some propane tanks and all the gas in the truck. It is a good thing Matias does not look back because Matias is not a man, but a large maine coon that lands on Lorelei’s shoulder as she runs out. Apparently to aloof and snooty to flee for his kitty life and instead hitches a ride on the romper wearing dive blade wielding bombshell as the building literally erupts in flames!
To the street and… okay, not down it. Not entirely at least. It’s just that Teagan is not going to stand directly in front of a building that is going up in flames in the middle of the night when surely people are already sticking their heads out their windows and wandering out into the street with phones. Or about to anyway! Nope, Teagan is out and out of sight as soon as possible. And holding a bag of teeth. “Ew, ew, ew, ew,” she mutters to herself as she waits for the others holding the bag out and away from her.
There’s a lot of things that Teagan can be pretty stoic about. A bag of teeth is not one of those things.
It is a good thing Lorelei does not look back! Otherwise Matias would have landed on her face!
Crawling out onto the street, Eloa has like bandages everywhere, blood smeared everywhere and looks like some victim of a shoot and run or something. She makes it across the street before flopping down onto the ground – only to have the building explode behind her! Yelping, Eloa hugs herself and then looks around desperately for somewhere to hide. Ending up in a nice bush.
Dovie rushes over to Teagan, panting hard, her face a bit soot and sweat streaked. “Are you okay?” she asks, then looking around for Eloa, Matias, and Lorelei.
Lorelei bolts into the cool night air, legs flashing under the flutter of her romper as the warehouse behind her erupts in a roar of fire and buckling steel. She doesn’t flinch, doesn’t even flick her eyes back, just strides on with that slow-motion diva confidence like the explosion was staged for her. The heat chases her, wind tossing her copper curls as the silhouette of a giant flame blossoms in the sky.
When the shockwave ripples past, a full-grown Maine Coon perches regally on her shoulder, riding her like some pampered familiar. Between the cat, the knife still in her grip, and the orange glow outlining her curves, it’s obvious: we do know this diva.
There is some coughing, yes. Probably from all of them! When Dovie comes running up, Teagan tosses the bag of teeth to her! Hot potat-eeth! “I am now.” She gives one of those full-bodied shudders.
The smokey Maine coon cat bounds off Lorelei’s shoulder after the end credits roll for the music video they were clearly filming. Once they are outside and with a sniff sniff finds the bloody Eloa in a bush and shifts back into Matias. Helping the latina up he checks the superficial wounds and suggests, “I think you will live.” and helps her onto her feet where she can lean on him.
Matias says, calling out to the group, “Gimmie the bag, I will leave it under my pillow and everything will be right as rain by morning!“
Dovie stops what she’s doing to stare at Lorelei and the maine coon, but she’s shocked out of that by that bag of whatever that comes flying at her. She grabs it, almost dropping the bag, but managing not to, barely. She hands the bag to Matias without looking at it, looking over to Eloa, “Are you okay? Do you need bandages?”
“Right as rain?” Teagan stares at Matias for a moment as if the verbiage he’s just spouted is… well, it isn’t like him! “You spend too much time around Miss Kane.” She is, at least, fully intact. Apparently she can dodge bullets and magic! Or at least stay well clear of them. She breathes out slowly and takes out her phone once more to go back to staring at it. Back to her puzzle. Which isn’t a puzzle at all, really.
Looking up as Matias goes to help her, Eloa has a few grazes everywhere alot of blood, because even a small amount of blood looks like someone died and Eloa got pretty grazed up! Eloa is also wrapped up in bandages but like, not well because she had to bandage her own arm. She leans against Matias, shaking her head towards Dovie. “No is okay… used bandages..” Eloa tells Dovie with a smile, limping a little as she uses Matias’s shoulder’s to take some of her weight.
Dovie nods at Eloa. Convinced that the danger is gone, she turns her attention now to Lorelei, pulling out her phone to snap a photo or several of Lorelei. “Stay there, the lighting is like, perf right now!”
Lorelei rubs at her neck gingerly where the bite marks bloom red, the gesture casual as if she’s checking an accessory instead of an injury. She flashes a wry little grin at the others, breath still shallow from smoke and adrenaline. “I’ve had worse after a hot date,” she assures, her voice a giggle that tries to smooth over the chaos they’ve just staggered out of. Her curls are mussed, her romper singed at the hem, but she carries it like runway styling, another night, another fire, another story.
The building continues to burn behind them and sirens in the distance. Matias looks around the sooty, mildly wounded, and disheveled group. “Okay we need to leave.” and with that he begins to lead them back to Dovie’s business where their various forms of transit will be and also eventually a pillow for a bag of about… well a lot of teeth.
“Ewww is that all teeth?” Eloa asks Dovie as if asking if the woman has opened the bag look into the …probably fragrent bag of teeth full of cavities. She clings a bit to Matias, limping just a little as they walk down the street looking like charlies angel survivors.
Matias says, to both of them, “Yeah feels like teeth or bone dice… Probably teeth.“
Making sure to stay out of Dovie’s perfectly lit shot, Teagan takes a wide circuit around and tugs at her coat a bit, making a face. Definitely needs a trip to the cleaners. “Don’t look in the bag,” she tells them all very firmly. VERY. FIRMLY.
Like, so firmly.
Don’t do it.
Lorelei says “We took a bite out of crime.“
Limping a bit more by the time they reach the horses, Eloa goes to sooth Clipclop which is probably make a fuss given Eloa smells like smoke and blood!
might have made a biiiig mistake
