Navessa’s WU Class: Symbology in Art

October 7 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Location: Inside a Haunted Art Studio (Plymouth House)

Calendar Type: Educational

Description

Have you ever wondered about the symbology found within art? How much of it is intentional? How much of it is simply the human mind seeking patterns?

This isn’t just the use of palettes and perspective to evoke certain emotions and ideas, but the use of metaphysical symbology (iconography, runes, etc.) within artwork. When is it purposeful? When is it the artist being used as a medium for an entity beyond? Is it acceptable to include such symbolism in our own art and what is the risk to the supernatural community (or ourselves) to do so?

Bring (a copy, a print, or just an image on your phone) your favorite piece of artwork that you believe holds such symbology to share with the class.

This class is intended for Windermere students, but others will be allowed to sit in and observe on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested, please contact the instructor, Navessa Steel at 710-0583.
