There are various aspects of the game where characters are gatekept based on age.

Some make sense, such as alcohol buying. Some are a little strange like being unable to be in a faction/society if under a certain age unless part of Windermere. I’ve never understood what the logic behind that is. What difference does being a student make?

Methods of increasing “apparent age” seem to only affect buying alcohol. It doesn’t change anything else.

Where this is a problem is that some of us, being brand new to the game, were unaware it would place a big wall in front of Archetypes. And there is no way around it. I had originally actually intended on using the Wild Hunt as a way to fix this problem. I was maybe one of the only people who was like okay, yep, I will sit the 10 weeks in the Wild Hunt and do the fate crafting so that I can change my age- then I saw the ATS saying that age is the singular thing that cannot be changed.

Is there any way other than just abandoning the character altogether? There seem to be functions to adjust every other aspect of a character if one is willing to go through spending karma or XP or favor (or sitting with absolutely nothing to do and no one to RP with for two months)… except age. I did put in a petition about this, but it was flagged only as ‘Investigated,’ so I was told to post here.

How can we, if we had no idea about how limiting age was (due to being brand new to Haven), move forward and remain with a character we are invested in?

Historically, a request petition may do it for you if you done a mistake.
