I was a bit confused about something. From a recent announcement:
Just a reminder that New Haven hasn’t existed for very long, so while you can RP thinking you’ve lived here your whole life you actually have not.
Meanwhile, from the New Haven Info post:
Everyone knows it was founded during the time of the Mayflower but also it didn’t exist until a few weeks ago.
What does that actually mean? If it spontaneously sprang into existence two weeks ago, how was it founded in the 17th century? If nobody has lived there until two weeks ago, how is all this stuff there? Who has been teaching at the university, working at the hospital, etc.? Are there literally no locals who are familiar with the place?

And does this mean that all characters must be fresh new arrivals who have never set foot in New Haven before? Each and every person who’s currently there is new to the city and just establishing themselves with no prior history in the place?

I had initially interpreted the lore post to mean that there’s some vague, handwavy time loop or something, that it exists as a liminal place that does function as a city on a permanent basis but with blurred lines between reality and something more mystical. Think Westworld, just with magic instead of robots.
