With the new system, I noticed we can flag ourselves for an encounter, but I haven’t been able to determine exactly how this system seems to work. How exactly does the new system work? Do these work like in previous iterations of Haven’s ST encounters, and do we have to be over 50 hours to participate in one? What are the steps to take to allow yourself to be available for one? Are these linked to cdrives at all?

I don’t know about participating, but you do not need 50 hours in order to SR an encounter (so I’d say the same thing applies to participation).
If I understand them correctly, they are the replacement for Destinies also right? I’m thinking of using one, but I’m a bit concerned about running into content restrictions in the descriptions. Is there a way to flag them?
I believe Opportunities/Incitements are the replacement for Destinies. They correlate to the Social/Courier/Predatory lookfors from what I can tell
I’m a bit too much of a dinosaur on Haven to remember what destinies were. I haven’t really played in quite a few iterations. From what I have seen so far it seems your character is in the scene now, and that you just need to have lookfor flags for encounter and active and a place for them in order for them to work. If you have support on, you also have a chance of being in an encounter as well, so if you’re looking to help people out with that, you should enable that. Otherwise, my main questions for it from here on is:
– Do our characters have to ICly be in the scene?
– If so, what expectations are there for their involvement in the scene? I ask as at least one of the prompts I’ve seen didn’t seem to require the character running to be there at all.
– Are there any other guidelines or stipulations regarding things new SR’s should be aware of outside the helpfiles and the old Haven guidelines? As an aside, really digging the new lookfor flags once I figured out how a lot of them work, thanks for the hard work!
You do not need to have 50 hours (AFAIK, I did mine well before 50 hours) to run an Encounter.
Basically, you flag yourself as looking for an active encounter and it should pop it out there for someone to accept! I believe if you use lookfor Encounter and then lookfor support, you’ll receive Encounter offers instead from those looking for it.
There is still a week-long cooldown.
I am also curious about the guidelines and stipulations though, as you do have your character there.
