I guess we just need to start giving hard numbers to determine if there is a variance.
Initial favor 283 > 296 > 393 > 501 > 858 > 1179 > spent some karma 1079 > spent some more 879 > 1027 > 1146 > 1371 > 1549 so that is from June 11th to like now. I had several weeks with no favor, petition, no retro favor.

Some missing information
I do a patrol about once a week
I do an encounter every 10 days roughly
I accept encounters every 20 days or say
I do a lot of smaller scenes with 1-3 people tutoring or answering questions or magic stuff
My invitation hovers around 5 – 3 and I have gotten down to 3 several times and bought back up to 5.
I am in 1 society and have only ever been in 1 society
I am a T2 with extra foci
Not sure what else might be relevant to favor earning, but if anyone asks I shall answer.
I think the best thing to do is to have a minimum if you do things:
Do 1 patrol/event get 50 mininum
Do 2 different ones get 100 mininumDo 50 events and maximum is still 200-300.
That way things are fair. Unlike right now when some people can afford their relic and their fae cloth and their gemstone and res a few people while others barely can scrape enough together for one such thing.
I can say, contrary to some other posts here, I am in a large group and get considerably over the minimum (if nowhere near a thousand).
I think there is a definite trap in looking at an extremely complex system and assuming you know why things are happening. I don’t think it’s a matter of society size (or not exclusively so) as some in small groups get little and some get a lot and that’s the same in big groups.
My own personal experience is that it’s about variety, and that feels in line with the other design decisions regarding activity, but this is just my personal experience. I get more when I do an activity that I didn’t do the week before. I get more when I do more of an activity I don’t often do. I don’t often go to events, and I got a lot more after going to two in one week despite my other activities taking a dive. I forgot to do an encounter for a few weeks, and I got a huge boost in a week where I did one. Political capital explicitly follows this same pattern, where things done less are worth more.
So again, I think it’s impossible to really say what’s going on based on personal experience, but I do think doing three different activities is worth a lot more than doing one activity three times. I’d be curious to see if other people experience similar or if it’s just another imagined pattern in this complex machine.
