Hi!
I’ve been playing a Lieutenant Guest for a little bit and am thoroughly enjoying stirring things up with it, but I’d love to get a little more guidance on a few things for them.
1. It currently appears your Lieutenant Guest does NOT freeze your main character, like a Monster Guest does. This is fine, probably. It also does NOT appear to warn you against having two supernatural characters logged in at once. Are these intentional?
2. Guests of all sorts cannot negtrain, even in newbie school, nor reroll reset. This can result in costly errors you just have to live with. I understand it’s to avoid griefing/twinking and abuse, especially once on grid. Could it perhaps be laxed while in newbie school?
3. Lieutenant Guests do not have any faction/society/cult, so they cannot attend raids or access faction gear shops. I have set up some opportunities/incitements, but I’m not sure if I can even turn in the resulting item (or should, if I won the patrols). Should I generally just be rabble-rousing on grid? Should I be concealing my LT status and stealth-joining a fac/soc as a mole?
Thank you!
Are they intended to be killed? Would doing so have any political consequences? At the moment they are used as free T4 characters and appear able to enter Downtown, although it says they should be restricted to the 63rd-owned boroughs only.
Just to briefly chime in as one of these Guests still getting their feet wet, in my experience, you can walk through other boroughs, and you can stand in other boroughs, but after about 10-15 minutes you will automatically get transported back to the base camp if it’s not a 63rd controlled one.
So if one interacting in Downtown for longer than that, then it’s either some kind of bug or Downtown is truly neutral territory.
I’m curious to see the answer to this.
Not Nova, but copy/pasting a new helpfile:
Title: Lieutenants
Lieutenants of the 63rd are a type of guest character who represent higher ranking members of the
63rd legion.Lieutenants have additional powers over boroughs that are controlled by the 63rd.
They can breakdown any door.
They can use the ‘control’ command on anyone in one of those boroughs, including the options
generally restricted to the Last Vigil.
They can use the ‘examine’ command on any character to frisk them and see their inventory.
They can use the ‘steal’ command on any character to confiscate any low value items.
They can use enforce arrest (character in the room with them) to send that character to their camp
where they’ll be detained for three hours.
They can use enforce warrant (character online) to place a warrant out for that character, if they
linger in public
They can use enforce checkpoint (character online) to set up a checkpoint, if the character drives
through a demon controlled territory they will be detained and the lieutenant will be sent to the
same room with them in hostile mode. Each raid orchestrated by the 63rd legion will also have an NPC lieutenant as the main adversary of
that raid. These lieutenants will have custom abilities which will affect enemies in an AOE around
their target, the longer the ability channels for the larger the AOE.
or outdoors they will be picked up and detained in the 63rds camp.It seems the majority of these are opt-in, to the degree that they require the victim to be in a 63rd-controlled borough. Since LT Guests are likewise restricted to these boroughs, and the degree of power they have while there, I would think sublimation a very, very attractive option unless one warrants killing.
This presents a problematic design. It does not address their point, why they exist, what they are there for, nor does it clarify how potential abuse will be prevented. As the commands can likely be used mid-combat, it creates the possibility of players functioning as free T4 characters with immunity on their own turf. This would significantly increase the difficulty of taking any Borough, as they could repeatedly arrest known contributors.
“This would significantly increase the difficulty of taking any Borough, as they could repeatedly arrest known contributors.”
Joke’s on them. Once you have enough people in the prison cell, you could throw an event, thus gaining even more popularity for your faction!
(This is not a serious suggestion)
You can’t reroll or negtrain on guests to prevent there being a way to get your guest xp/rpxp back into your account pool. I probably should work on reviewing that at some point but for the moment, that’s why that’s there. You will eventually get the opportunity to make a new lt guest though so even if you mess one up you can always delete and do it again later.
Yes it’s intended that you should be able to play an LT guest and your main character.
They’re intended to just rabble rouse on grid, basically their role is to help represent the 63rd and the threat they pose, so specifically to help 63rd controlled boroughs feel like scary places being run by fascist demons.
