Hello! So I just want to start by saying that I’m not an extremely experienced player, this is just more of a topic that I’m a little passionate about and always find myself pretty disappointed with when I read through the help files. So basically, every magic type has it’s own power tree, all good and dandy. The main issue I have with them is that usually the ‘roleplay’ sections for each type are EXTREMELY restrictive, which I think is just kinda boring?

I want to say that I understand that every arcanist should be roleplaying to very specifically their power level, but the creativity feels like it’s very limiting? Why cant cryomancers shape ice? How come there’s basically no earth magic outside of what extremely limited stuff that nature magic gets access to? Why are illusions visual only without options for auditory illusions?

I remember in the past I asked about this, and the answer I got from most players is that ‘yeah it’s cool if you emote for flavor as long as you’re obviously not trying to show that your character can do something about their power/something that you need a specific ability to do. I think this is fine, but sometimes I wish this was represented more in the help files. What do other people think?
