Would it be possible for the highest rank Windermere Faculty member (or those rank 3 and above) be able to edit rooms on campus?

Do the following commands work in this version of Haven? For example I have been told sending people to the clinic sends them to some broken void room or we are not supposed to be able to do it? I have also been told that in past iterations of Haven the suspend command does not work on students who have high GPAs?

    College remove (person)
-Can be used by staff to remove non-institute individuals from the grounds.

    College readfile (person)
-Used by staff to read a student’s file.

    College writefile (person)
-Used by staff to add to a student’s file.

    College commit (person)
-Used by staff to commit a student to the clinic.

    College suspend (person)
-Used by staff to suspend students or other lower ranked staff.

    College unsuspend (person)
-Used by staff to lift someone’s suspension.

    Yes, please!

I wouldn’t leave it exclusively to the highest ranking one, but as a general perk above a certain rank.

I would include the hospital in that too.

Giving people customization access would go a long way to improve the college and its layout.

Comitting doesn’t work, everything else should I believe.

I’d need more information about what people want to change and why. You should be able to change your offices but there’s obviously significant risk in someone getting high rank and then having a tantrum and trashing a bunch of areas/rooms so would need more of a case behind it.

The campus is something of a maze. And not in a good way. There is no natural congregating spot like the old one had and none of the rooms show up on “where” if people are there.

Maybe the system would need to be on a case-by-case basis. Trustworthy people can gain builder powers for a short time if they request it.

There is the temporary ‘hotspot’ command and I have used it before. Unfortunately, since it is very difficult to navigate the campus (like if you find the cafeteria and ‘hotspot’ it- how will others find it if they never have before?), it isn’t entirely useful (for the campus: it can be useful in other places of course!).

It would be very nice if there were maps on the website of areas. I know there is the user-made city map, but it does not ‘drill down’ into places. The Mall and Windermere are the main two I can think of. The mall has some very neat stores in it, but I hate going to it because I get lost every single time. ‘map level’ is helpful in some cases, but once you have multiple floors it gets trickier to use.

I do think a trust system could work. Maybe it could be a vouch sort of thing. People could submit a vouch for college staff they trust and if enough people have vouched for an instructor, they get access to make those changes (and vouches can be withdrawn). This way, someone like say, Matias who everyone sees put in the time and effort (and has for months) could have that access while someone who has been on grid for a week would have to earn it.

I would point out that Seraphina created a student union shop with multiple relevant rooms consolidated into 1 location across the street from the campus and is probably the best we are going to get for hotspots and we have encouraged students to use it. It even has uniforms.

The student union is great, but the campus has some issues. Was just pointing it out to Ouroboros.

This sums all the issues up pretty well: https://havenrpg.net/newsite/forums/topic/windermere-rp/

But it does feel like the University is the unloved step-child that was just included because previous iterations have had it too.
