Also, I never blamed you, nor asked anyone to harass you codedly, verbally, or otherwise.

When a fight breaks out after every HIDE attempt I’m not focusing on typing, “Chill” I’m focusing on ending the fight so we don’t both end up rag dolled and turned into monster kittle. Make it make sense how you don’t understand that combat usually eats up a lot of attention.

If you recall I was pulled into your fight from my motorcylce driving passed the area and not into it. I wasn’t their to farm.

Caveat: I also forgot to add: I made every attempt to save Arachne’s life after I realized my epic OOC fuck up, which was not Leon’s intent, but intent counts for shit once the code fires off, right? Or is the Hand, Court, and Order gonna suddenly take Leon out now for margaritas and pineapple pizza? But guess what happened shy of 60 seconds? He was ritual sabotaged. I wonder who that happened when Arachne was becoming a real life corpse?

I generally allow things to play out or just let them go entirely until someone comes along and tries to character assassinate me, spread misinformation, or just blatantly lies. So let’s light this firecracker and set the record straight. Buckle up, it’s a long one.

Before we begin: you, Crayola, and anyone else doesn’t know me from Adam; except for a select few, because I can actually trust them to ROLE play a character, be true to the scene, and embody the world they signed up to play in instead of getting lost in their feelings, taking anything they don’t agree with ICly and turn it into an OOC vendetta, or lambasting complete strangers and their moral character like some authority while armcharing their intentions. You don’t have any insight into my personal character or have an iota of the person behind the words, so stow it.

So here are the factual events of how VIOLENCE was used against Leon and how everything he did was reprisal. Not playing “war games,” or, “hack and slashing” just responding to the situations before him.

Leon goes on a Patrol Hunt, Arachne shows up, the Hunt begins. Leon is about to be critically wounded if not killed by the Hunt, he radios in as much to Temple. Arachne attacks Leon (whether this was due to ignorance, negligence, or malice doesn’t matter) what codedly happened, happened. Leon radio’s in the Arachne is trying to kill him, she tries to play it off as “friendly fire,” but sees her actions as trying to use the Hunt as an opportunistic moment to murder him and blame it on the Hunt.

Templar shows up and saves him, but due to the illusions ends up knocking him out, which likely saved him from a critical wound and/or death; so her f-up or intent in the end saves Leon. Cool, Leon is woken up, Arachne is tied up. Leon stakes Arachne (I the player write out 5 sentences, emoting the action before just firing it off, while Arachne is conscious to see it, thinking this would be a cooler and less scummy way of KNOCKOUT PUNCHING a fellow player, while giving them RP and insight to who he is, you know telling a story).

Suddenly the critical wound prompt fires off and oocly I’m freaking out and burying my head in my hands going, “FFS, I thought she was a vampire. I have the political thuggery to do this?” Leon ICly was acting off bad intel from another Templar, but it was still Leon’s actions and his consequences to deal with. Then through the abuse of AID and the breaking of rule 2 per Rules and Polices, PoF Arachne begins to harass me in AID; when I refused to pour oil on her fiery temper tantrum and horrible assumptions about me, so PoF Arachne takes it to OOC.

I turn off OOC hoping it’ll just die out. At this point Crayola makes it very apparent that she is the PoF of Arachne. I’m told later in a tell that Crayola is dragging my name through the mud in OOC chat. I turn it back on to tell her to STFU and keep it IC and leave it at that; until she doesn’t and I troll report her for harassing me, character assassinating me, and the blatant rule breaking all because she has a victim complex and I was the “bad faith actor playing the game like it’s hack and slash.” Very cool, very mature.

Anyways, Hand, Order, and the Court later jump Salim when he tries to negotiate with them in good faith, saying he’ll handle the f-up in house. An all-out “gang war” breaks out to kick Salim’s head in, an escalation of matters and OPEN WARFARE, so much VIOLENCE. Temple rolls in, takes out a decent few, but loses, cool. Then their woken up, emotions are high, arguing happens, until Leon is finally staked. Eye for an eye, score settled, but not really. We can all move on with our lives.

Later, that week I the player get a LOOKFOR ACTIVE PROMPT OF ANTAGNOIZE, I accept the prompt not even realizing who it is, until it pulls me in and I see the coded name I remember. I instantly go, “oh that person was at the gang-street-turf-open-warfare talking smack who came into his room while he was critically wounded and did some actions that Leon perceived as nefarious, malicious, and/or victimizing.” Leon begins to interrogate him, said PC dodges the questions, actually lies to Leon’s face, and then thought he’d control the flow by walking off while OOC harassing me in AID trying to shut the scene down because they had a calendar event: in the future that is not how RP is resolved against antagonistic scenes or strangers, and not a courtesy I was ever afforded, and is BLATANTLY against RULE TWO. Leon, and me being true to his character flaws, attacks said PC, knocks him out, and walks off. No maiming, no murdering, just reprisal RP.

Later that day Hand, Order, or Court bust into Leon’s home and try to kidnap him, more escalation, but Leon is slick, and evades the would be grab and bag.

A day after this Leon is approached by 2 PC’s he has “okay” relations with to help investigate a murder and potentially capture said murderer. We corner alleged murderer, they abuse code and initiate combat to exploit their Angel’s run speed. Lo and behold Arachne is nearby, smears Leon as the aggressor, calls in 4 Hand members, and knocks out Leon. And in typical Haven and Hand player fashion the moment Leon gets knocked out he’s instantly blindfolded, gagged, and bound. Very cool rp, not at all motivated by OOC grudges.

Arachne drags Leon back to the Hand HQ to antagonize, VICTIMIZE, and SUBLIMATE. Wow, an increase and escalation of VIOLENCE. I, the player graciously take my L and RP out the scene; no abuse of AID no OOC chat harassment, no smearing or character ass-ass-ination. Later that day I mull over what Leon would do, and think “he’d probably send a message that Temple isn’t just people you can push around.”

So he busts down Lykaia’s door, Kai was present, as she and he were two of the 4 who showed up to antagonize him during the Noir hunt of a Murderer. Due to lag, brain farts, and exhaustion, and what I thought would be more back and forth Rp turns into an INSTANT EXCUTE the moment combat drops. Very cool rp, not murder hobo at all.

End scene, Corpse Scry & Summon don’t work, I highly suspect PoF’s Lykaia and Kai did something to codedly abuse the corpse or actually put it in a stash or used the “trash” command and was able to have it work, or something else entirely OOCly malicious and having nothing to do with actual RP.

The Hand, the Order, the Court, you, and anyone else aren’t the arbiters of what is “appropriate” play, politics aren’t the only avenue, I’m not playing this game like it’s a war simulator or a hack and slash , and I don’t initiate most antagonism unless it’s retaliation play, and I certainly don’t default to MURDER; that’s an absolute last resort for the serious and heavy stuff, but that’s my own self-imposed rule and not one Nova frankly shares or cares about or he wouldn’t make political thuggery so obtuse and SO EASY to acquire.

I truly didn’t want to have to WASTE my fucking time with this Haven drama, AGAIN, but now I have to stand on principle and stop this goddamn character smearing and nip it in the ass.

Anyways, but yeah, I was the one FAFO, and guilty of using “violence.” I swear to Christ, you absolutely are the type of player to use all the other antagonizing code and call it right, because you did it, and any time someone responds to you and yours antagonism with their select choice of reprisal it’s wrong, because you know it inconvenienced you or you took an L. Hypocrites. Read Content Policy.

Haven is fundamentally a non-consent game, other players do not need your permission or your interest to do things in game which have an effect on your character, that could include doing violence to your character, imprisoning them or even killing them. You have no right to control what others do just because it impacts your character and attempts to influence others to alter their character’s behavior is likely to be a violation of the rules.

However there are certain categories of content that are considered especially sensitive or abusable, these categories of content are locked out of the regular game and you will only be able to introduce them into the story if all people in the current scene have opted into them being included via the ‘make warning’ system. All players also have the ability to revoke their consent for this content at any time and that must be respected. Some grace is given if someone suddenly opts-out of something to allow you to smoothly transition out of it.

Content being restricted means it is restricted in all ways and in all venues, it means your character cannot do that thing, but also cannot discuss it or show pictures of it etc.

If your character has been in some RP that involved restricted content and is now in a scene without those warnings active when someone questions them about it it’s up to you to be sufficiently vague to avoid introducing the restricted content. – NOVA

Always bring a buddy and be ready to run if you’re going monster hunting!

Incorrect, the more players their are the harder the mists become and spawn more monsters. So bringing along a T1 with 150k cexp is to your determinate. Tested, not hersay. The more players the more chances at larger and stronger groups instantly attacked your group.

The only thing I cannot verify is if the Mists respond to the level of each PC’s, their Tier, and their overall combat exp.

Finally, non of the above would be an issue if PC’s weren’t such huge investments and time sinks. This isn’t your typical mud “PK game” and you can legit spend a year finally getting your concept fleshed out, so death has always been a serious feature when it comes to PC’s and not easily assessable, and rarely happened.

However, death in New Haven is absolutely too loose, so “buyers beware.”

The mist monsters spawn too frequently, hit too hard, have too much hp, and monsters bug out and follow players in areas not intended, and can even spawn on top of a player when they enter a new tile, which makes stealth 3, which worked wonderfully in previous iterations quite the lackluster investment now.

Mist grinding was already a boring, monotonous, and laborious activity, and now it’s just a true newbie trap, overly punishing, and group based only and even then how randomized the monsters are, and their wonky power levels showing up in areas they shouldn’t be in, or en masse based on number of players, can absolutely destroy even the most hardened Haven veteran.

TL;DR: Not good, overly punishing, bugs out, monsters hit too hard and have too much HP, and overwhelms even experienced groups with too many hard hitting monsters due to size of group.

That doesn’t register either, and when I drop the .. and target it asks me whom to ng, but doesn’t work in combat. So I don’t know what the hang up is.

Unfortunately that wasn’t the issue, it wasn’t spaced in the actual lua code, just human error here on the forums.
