in reply to: Invitation & Higher Tiers #25673
It’s inconsistences like this that make it so that people should support those getting the short end of the stick. Because there’s alot of short ends of the stick.
Some people are getting 1k favor a week. Some are getting 50.
Some people are 100 rpexp a week and some are getting 5000.
Some people are getting crazy amounts of invitation, some are not. So if you’re the person getting 0 invitation please do not be like the person getting 1k favor, sitting on your high horse going, oh this is fine, I see no problem with what’s happening here.Having to spend 80k RPEXP to TRY and reduce your invitation so you can do 3 emotes back and forth with a T3 is horrendous for the T3.
in reply to: Invitation and you #25495The problem is my characters don’t act like they’re inviting invitation.
My character had T2 friends. She would be nice to them say hi etc.
They become T3. She’s still nice to them say hi etc because the way they act haven’t changed.
Suddenly you get invitation for doing the same thing you always did.
If my character was bargaining with demons all day sureee I’ll accept that.
But she’s not. She’s gaining invitation from agreeing to casual meetings between friends with a T3. Or comforting a T3. Or going to lessons with a T3 professor.Like a T3 held the poetry reading thing the other day. Did everyone attending go, ohhh I’m here because I want to invite darkness to my soul? Or are they just there because they want to analyse poetry?
in reply to: Repeat Bites #25429There is probably a penalty if the person has been fed on by someone else. I think being fed on more than once every 2 weeks decreases the value of your blood. And if you’re feeding on someone supernatural it’s like 2% anyways. The same penalty happens if they bleed themselves, get victimized for blood etc.
IC I think people tried to explain it like… you are drinking the magic from their blood. They haven’t regenerated the magic yet.
in reply to: Invitation and you #25367No but how would YOUR character know these are advantages you can take? Unless there’s a list of when aura is this grey this is possible? Do you regularly IRL see someone can go heyyy I can force this guy to imagine stuff! Hey this guy’s aura this dark so I can just steal from him.
in reply to: Invitation and you #25318The problem is. Unless there is a book in game that says
When the aura gets smokey you can hack their myhaven.
Why would your character EVER think they can hack someone’s myhaven? Why would your character EVER think they can climb through the bedroom of someone who’s hung out with evil even if there’s cameras and security and bars? (like Security 4 is meant to be high tech security system)
Why would your character think oh I can bite so and so without hypnotising first when normally they always need to be hypnotised?
Why would your character know the ‘locate’ command exists and can magically tell you what room they’re in and which direction they are?
Your character would have no IC reason whatsoever to think they can achieve any of these things.
in reply to: Fabled – Is the topic socially shareable? #25227This is the same line as … seeing if someone is ‘fallen’. If aura is IC and you can tell someone is ‘fallen’ then fabled should be IC and other people can be like. Ew you have that aura and I’m not going to date you because something horrible will happen to our relationship in a few months.
Or people can be like oh I can’t be around you because you’re corrupted.
But if it isn’t IC then people are just weirdly avoiding people for no reason and guessing they’re T1/t2/t3.
I would say fabled people are like those supernatural people in the movies who are like, ohhh other people have power but i’m just a normal person… And strongly hold that belief
in reply to: Invitation & Higher Tiers #25007Furthermore does Tyr really care that much about how people act in these moral tiers? Because my char can be tiershifted between T1.5 to t2.5 without my knowledge. If we’re supposed to act differently why wouldn’t it tell you? Hey you’ve been tiershifted up act more evil now.
in reply to: Invitation & Higher Tiers #25004The problem is, even in previous reiterations, antagonists need friends, allies and buddies too. You might not be strong but you can make friends with someone strong or make a bargain and they will protect you. Right now you’re punished so heavily even from just casually chatting with them.
And because there is no ‘rising event’ when you become T3, there is no plausible IC reason. Oh hey your aura changed to fallen we can’t be friends and I’m going to run out of the room anytime I see a T3 seems like a horrible way to encourage RP and stories.
Not to mention if that pisses off the person who you’re leaving from, they can just kidnap you, force antag RP onto you… and raise your invitation anyways.
And at this point if you do antag you then have entire societies who will let you antag once or twice and be like, well okay lets just kill this guy. And you better hope you have friends who will resurrect you because there’s no sanctuary protecting you. It just makes it so that the only people people are willing to antag on.. are like legion characters because they’re disposable.
in reply to: Invitation & Higher Tiers #24997Also in the past t3 people are people who are a little bit fallen right?
You’re still trying to be a good person but you got tempted by power and maybe you kill a person every now and then.
Like a veteran werewolf or vampire can be T3 without taking exsanguinating or lunacy. That’s just a person whose old. That’s not tempted by power. That’s just growing into power.
To say these people have to RP as ‘evil’ is kindof strange to me too.
in reply to: Invitation & Higher Tiers #24996So for me the whole invitation thing is too punishing and too isolating for T3s.
My character has two T3 friends. These people did not start as T3. They were friends at T2 . The problem is that when they become T3 it’s not like they did something horrible and evil. They just got slightly stronger.
If there is an announcement that T3’s when becoming T3’s have to do some kindof RP where they essentially rise up and become the green goblin – Great. Then my character who is a nice person, can be like ohhh you did all this evil stuff I don’t know if I can be friends anymore.
But right now, they are just slightly stronger. They’re not doing anything different. And it feels punishing that I can gain invitation just by them saying Hi how are you. And me responding.
Like showing compassion or care for a T3 gets you invitation.
And I just posted in ask the staff because some of this stuff seems ridiculous for my character to say
Hey I can’t talk to you anymore sorry you’re too evil (even though you haven’t done anything) and if I talk to you people will be able to climb through my bedroom window.
Hey I bargained my memory for how to play chess so I can be more pure. ???
Oh I want to stop being so tempted by evil so I guess I’ll have to become evil??
My character RPs with multiple T2’s for hours every day. Mundane RP. And can’t lose invitation because she replies to texts of Hi how are you.
I also don’t know if it makes it worse that she’s an angel and previously people would tiershift her down to 1.5. Which I don’t know if it makes it so you can’t rp with T2s to drop invitation but that is really kindof dumb.
Also why would being helpless and captured by a T3.. make you want to invite more evil?
It just doesn’t make sense to me.
in reply to: Let’s Talk Favour (Again) #24757I think the best thing to do is to have a minimum if you do things:
Do 1 patrol/event get 50 mininum
Do 2 different ones get 100 mininumDo 50 events and maximum is still 200-300.
That way things are fair. Unlike right now when some people can afford their relic and their fae cloth and their gemstone and res a few people while others barely can scrape enough together for one such thing.
in reply to: Pray Might Break Channels #24756Oh it sounds like you got troll reported. When I made a char that didn’t pass IP check that’s what happened to me. Tried to talk on newbie, no one ever responded felt like the game was super unfriendly.
in reply to: Normalize Favor #23568So I’m in a society and a faction. Faction report and Society report both list my character 8-9 times in the top three of each category.
How much influence did I gain for last week that these reports count?40.
What is even the point?
in reply to: Normalize Favor #23504You were very correct Mirabel. College should award favor too. To both students and teachers given that students are capped in standing in all societies and factions as well. It’s basically saying if you want to contribute to our world feeling like a full and complete world with students and such, you have to suffer and not experience cool things. Plus. Why do students still get a paycheck deduction? Used to be college provided sanctuary and a place to sleep. Now it provides.. nothing. People should be able to get full time job equivalent with like… parental payments and a part time job or something.
Also even in societies though it’s also not fair. Society leaders seem to be getting alot of favor. But the people in the society report that feature alot … do not get much at all. Which means not only do you have to grind factions.. you have to be a socialite in essence or have alot of socialites in your clique to continue feeding you society influence so you can maintain it. Right now leader of factions isn’t even a popularity contest. It’s a popularity contest between socialites. Because combat or arcane mains simply can’t compete with the professional mains for giving society influence especially with all the contacts building political standing.
in reply to: Normalize Favor #23502At this current rate we might as well name The hand Alpha Beta Gamma and The order Phi Beta chi or something. There’s a log up for a order meeting. All that’s in it is .. boroughs. Hunting. How do we win more boroughs. No one cares about.. anti corruption. No one cares about making sure people don’t become corrupt because… You’re not rewarded for that. It’s the same in other factions and societies. Everything is about winning boroughs. What is even the point of them?
