I hear you on the frustration with the current state of play. You’re right, the game can’t tell a good story if people are just using the execute command to end every interaction.
But what you’re describing isn’t just a player issue, it’s a two-way street.
You mentioned people aren’t trying to get involved in your character’s story, but you have to give them something to work with. If a player tries to engage you as a prisoner and you consistently shut down the roleplay—whether it’s by spamming gestures to be ungagged twenty times or by just refusing to engage with the scene—you’re actively making it impossible for a story to happen.
When other players are met with that kind of resistance, where do you expect the story to go? Your character’s lack of cooperation doesn’t create tension; it creates a dead end. When you act like a difficult prisoner who won’t roleplay, you are effectively telling the other players that the only available outcome is to end the scene.
We all want to tell a good story. But if we’re not willing to accept the bad parts and the difficult scenarios as a chance to create a story, then we can’t be surprised when people get frustrated and decide to end the scene the only way you’ve allowed them.
in reply to: Shop/Store Profits #20650I too have only received cash only from my store despite watching people buy things. The amounts are very little like 23 dollars. But it’s cash only. I put on a petition and it just said investigated.
in reply to: Mist thoughts? #19620As a non combat character I have never been captured in the mists. Or crashed my car in the mists. Yes it would be great if your car could try not to go into the mists. But people have pointed out if your GPS is dumb then you need to be the smart one. If you’re going to somewhere near the mist you make sure you go left then up. Instead of up then left into the mist. So you do that by driving to 20 the up to 28 for example. When you set out to drive you need to make sure the address is correct. I stopped someone who I was with driving to the wrong place because I noticed it say you set out for blah street and that wasn’t where they were supposed to go. Turned out they typod the address.
That being said mists should probably stop spawning monsters right on people trying to rescue others. But being smart about it will prevent you from crashing in the mists.
in reply to: Mist thoughts? #19400I think the mists are great. It gives the game a reason to group and help and work together with a common enemy – the actual enemy. Please remember we’re just early in the game with T2s. By the time t5s are rolling around with their 600hp and 100 damage with 200 stagger per hit… these enemies will probably be rather easy. So it makes sense that we don’t nerf it into the ground while everyone is supposed to be weak? If you can solo them when you’re t1/t2 what’s the point of getting stronger?
The bugs about people getting reabducted while being saved should be fixed. But I think it’s exciting that it moves around the map. Already I see people saying ‘oh I had to camp out at x bar because of the mist’. That’s GOOD. That’s what you want to do. Not check that your house is the middle of the mists and go oh I must go home tonight to sleep and then get abducted.
