Jack Francis

Father Jack Francis

(¯`·._.·Vicar of White Oak Chapel·._.·´¯)

(¯`·._.·Defrocked Vatican Demon Hunter·._.·´¯)

+What I'm Doing in Haven+

Jack Francis spent his life hunting demons and supernatural threats to the Catholic Church as part of a secret Vatican office that descended from the Inquisition. In that service, he made deals with demons to learn magical power in order to best advance the Church's goals. At some point -- opinions differ -- either he strayed too far from the Church or the Church become too corrupt for him, and he was stripped of his power.

White Oak took him in as the vicar of their chapel, and he gathered together his tools and magics. Now, he teaches students about the supernatural and encourages them to not fall to corruption even as he struggles with the legacy of his own terrible bargains.

+Where I fit in a Supernatural World+

Jack is a potent sorcerer, and as vicar at White Oak he serves as a spiritual counselor to the students, staff, and others in the community. He teaches Latin, but he also teaches sorcery and supernatural metaphysics to the students at White Oak.

While Catholic for a long time, Jack is more and more heretical in his beliefs. Some of that, of coruse, is that religious dogma can't survive perfectly with encounters with the supernatural, but the larger feeling is that he no longer trusts in God.

+How I Cope with the Lurking Horrors+

Poorly. Jack copes with things poorly. He is, like all reasonably powerful supernaturals, the product of corruption and his his own bad choices. His greatest sin is pride, and so he justifies the terrible things he has done because he alone knows better how to save the world than anyone else.
