Alexanders Odd Encounter Sr Simon 240222

In an eerie, moonlit confrontation on Main Street and Lynch Avenue, Alexander finds himself ensnared in an unexpected battle against a horde of magic-driven crabs. The situation rapidly spirals out of control as these seemingly mundane creatures, driven by a mysterious magical force, overwhelm him with their numbers. Despite his efforts to fend them off, including wielding a knife and casting magic to summon aid, Alexander is ultimately overwhelmed. The crabs, relentless in their assault, manage to drag him down into the sewers, marking the beginning of a bizarre and terrifying ordeal. This descent into the unknown is punctuated by Alexander's attempts at negotiation and understanding with his captors, albeit in vain as the crabs seem singularly focused on pulling him deeper into their world.

The narrative takes a darker turn within the confines of the sewer as Alexander encounters a grotesque hybrid of man and crab, who claims to have been drawn to Alexander by his magical abilities. This entity, expressing a twisted form of affection, intends to bestow upon Alexander a "gift" that remains ominously unspecified. The confrontation escalates rapidly as Alexander, pushed to his limit, resorts to violence in a desperate bid to escape. His gunfire momentarily disrupts the magical hold over the crabs, affording him a slim chance at freedom. In a climactic turn of events, Alexander's robotic companion heroically intervenes, freeing him from the grasp of the sewer's horrors. The pair's narrow escape leaves the door ominously ajar for future encounters with the nightmarish crab folk, suggesting that Alexander's troubles are far from over.

[Wed Feb 21 2024]

At Main Street and Lynch Avenue

It is night, about 29F(-1C) degrees, and there are a few dark grey stormclouds in the sky. There is a waxing gibbous moon.

Crabs right, indeed! They continue to chase after the man, but thankfully his longer legs give him an advantage! That is, at least, until Alexander may just notice even more crabs spilling out in front of him. They all move as one, and the magic that he'd brushed up against earlier thrumbs in his mind. It's like a net of sorts, covering the creatures, and driving them into a violent madness. They swarm at him!

Alexander flicks a blade out of his coat, a knife and shifts. It's...time! CQC Crab battle!? What the hell has his life become!

Alexander shifted off his back leg, coming to a stop.

What is that saying about bringing a knife to a magical crab fight?

The critters swarm in closer to Alexander, and while they're small and brittle enough that he could likely smash each, there's so many of them. It wouldn't be long before he isn't quite quick enough to stop one from grabbing at his ankles. Others climbing over his shoes, and trying to scale his body. They mass about him, like a cancer, pinching and dying in waves.

Alexander whistles sharp and casts his magic out into the world. He's never very far from his pal. He keeps moving, yelping and trying to kick them off of him. "Get! OFF! You little bastards!" It might take some time for the beckon to work. He might not have a means of fighting off this horrific crab parade.

The aforementioned parade of horrifics grabs is terribly persistant. For every dead crab, two more take it's place, and they climb over the bodies of their fallen brothers to grasp at the young man. Soon enough the sheer weight of the critters grabbing onto him threatens to drag him down onto the street! Then they start to shuffle, and shift, dragging Alexander towards the nearest sewer entrance as they effectively start to crab-knap the Order member!

Alexander shouts. "We can talk this out! I'm sorry I killed so many of you!" He bellows, growing increasingly uneasy with this. "It was an accident!?" he insists.

Accidental crabbicide or not, Alexander continues to be dragged down towards the gap. The critters surge and press about him, pushing and shoving as they stuff the poor man into the sewers. A few of them are crushed to death in the process, but soon enough he's pushed through and falls to splash into the muck and water inside!

"Oh fuck come on! What's a little shell between us! Carcinogenesis comes for us all! We're really pretty alike if you aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-" Alexander falls down into the sewer and lands. Letting out a yelp and groaning. "What the FUCK!"

Gross. There's much everywhere, and worse yet, more crabs. They line the sides of tbe sewer, where a modest footpath provides some small respite from the terrible, stinky water. They click their claws, and the sound fills the space, echoing within.

"Carcinogenesis." A voice rasps out through the dark, as a terrible fusion of crab and man staggers over out of the shadows, his face a twisted mess of human and crab, and one hand entirely warped into a claw.

Alexander lets out a groan. "Fuck, no. Absolutely not!" He insists, in a kind of indignant tone. He has some amount of pride in himself. He loves himself. How much can the universe truly expect him to take. "NO!" he bellows. "I can handle the fucking corpses! And the vampires! And the werewolves! And the ghosts! And the fact that all the girls in this town seem to wanna get with me the second I get into a relationship!" He hesitates, reconsidering that last one. "And the demons!" He snarls, lifting his gun up. "BUT I WILL NOT! ACCEPT! CRAB! PEOPLE!"

"We prefer crab folk." The half-crab man rasps out in response, his voice a terrible sound. Like nails on a chalkboard. There's a mocking sort of laugh as Alexander raises his weapon. "You fire that tool, monkey man, and my children will tear you part from part.." He threatens, and the crabs snap their pincers threateningly. Even as Alexander's shouted words echo through the space.

Alexander keeps his gun raised. "Maybe, but you'll be dead, and maybe that's all a fleshy unshelled man like me can hope for, hm!?" He gazes around him at the many crabs. "Why have you brought me here, Crab! Tell me what you WANT!"

There's another bevy of threatening gestures from the crabs surrounding Alexander at the threat, and a few of them surge closer, snapping their pincers. "I felt you. Out there." The crab-folk begins to explain, the words sounding painful in his throat, "I felt your gift. It called to me. It calls to me."

Alexander exhales softly. "Oh..." He hesitates a bit, but he doesn't dare drop his aim. "...Well...sorry?" He tests. "I didn't mean to bother you?" He grimaces wide.

"Nooo." The sound echoes in the small space, drawn out and raw, and then the crab-man starts to laugh. "No, it is a gift. It is a gift, my son." It takes a step closer to Alexander, and another yet, and now he can see the extra legs speared out of his back that scuttle on the ground behind him, sending spirals and splashes through the water.

"You called to me." It repeats anew, "And I have a gift for you in turn.."

Alexander hesitates, but he is hopeful for a calm resolution to this. "Next time!" He insists. "Send one crab with a little note in its claw!" He insists. "Less spooky!"

"There will not be a next time, my darling." The man assures Alexander, and attempts to smile. Unfortunately the pinched and twisted crab side of his face twists the expression to such a point that it makes him spill drool down himself. He takes a little step closer, and another, and Alexander may feel the pressure of external magic starting to press in against himself. "I couldn't risk you refusing. I couldn't risk you not accepting the gift.."

"AH!" Alexander just shouts, the fragile branch on which his brains sanity was resting snaps when it becomes clear this crab folk has intimate interest in him. All the girls of the city and a crab folk. No, he just can't. There are limits. He SHRIEKS, and just begins squeezeing the trigger.

Truly, Alexander is cursed to be chased.

The first few rounds ricochet off of the crab folk's hard chitinous exoskeleton, though the final shot catches him in the chest sending him staggering backwards with a hiss and a spray of oozing, blue-red blood. "..Sieze him!" He screams out in fury, though only about the crabs dash forward to do that! It's clear that the wound had interrupted the spell, and his pull upon the crabs, and maybe Alexander might be able to get away!

Alexander books it, howling in terror as he begins to make his way away, looking for a ladder or something to haul himself above ground. "THANKS FOR THE GIFT, NO THANK YOU!" he bellows madly.

The crabs that yet listen surge after the man like a crimson wave, all the while the shouts of the crab-folk echo through the tunnels, "My love! Sieze him! Bring him to me! We will make him perfect! Like us!"

His love, which is to say Alexander, flees through the tunnels, splasing and huffing but eventually manages to find a ladder that isn't already crawling with crabs! The rungs are rusted, and slick with much, making them slippery and abrasive in equal measure - and the bloody grate above is wedged in place at first!

Alexander tries to pull at the earth, trapping vines behind him to seal him from his persuers. He pants desperately, letting out a roar as he tries to pull the grate off of him. Perhaps his one foot tall warrior of justice pal has finally shown up to aid him!?

Domo Arigato, here is roboto! Just as hope seems lost, and that grate threatens to condemn Alexander to a lifetime of crab-loving, it bursts open from above and outside! There it is! His minion, the one foot tall warrior of Justice! It twists the grate out of the way, and then pulls Alexander clear before smashing it back into place. It adopts a super cool pose after, fingers raised in a 'V' shape.

Alexander yells. "CRABS!" At his minion, as if he must inform the thing of what is to come. He flops back on his butt and scurries out. "Thank god, Robo. Let's get the FUCK out of here!" he bellows.

There's a smashing crack of several crabs as the grate is jumped upon by the robotic warrior of Justice, and then it's nodding eagerly as it moves to flee with it's master, leaving the crab nightmare behind for now. Though, no doubt, it will visit Alexander once again in the future. In his dreams, if not in reality itself.
