Deacons Odd Encounter Sr Ryan

Amidst the snow and mist of Suncrest Lane, Deacon and Cailyn find themselves stepping out of a smoky grey Nissan SUV, armed and vigilant. A black van rolls in, harboring members of a faction bearing a sunburst logo, antagonistic and armed with weapons and tranquilizer darts. Tensions rise sharply as Deacon and Cailyn brace for a confrontation, recognizing the aggressors aren't there by accident but with the clear intent to capture. Deacon, with his military sabre, and Cailyn, with her handgun, prepare to resist the attackers' swift advance as they demand the surrender of what they claim is theirs.

Chaos ensues when the ambushers spring into action, but were countered by Deacon's gunfire and Cailyn's marksmanship. An unexpected ally, Asa, crashes the scene with electrifying agility, living up to his "Raiden moves," taking down temple team members with decisive strikes and kicking up the tension. The assailants, realizing the gravity of their situation, call for backup only to be met by a roaring motorcycle and the emergence of a hulking figure referred to as Demolisher. The ensuing moments are fraught with peril and destruction as a man transforms into a terrifying wolf hybrid, focusing its ferocity on Cailyn and Deacon. The fearless duo, aided by their newfound ally Asa, engage in a desperate struggle, combining their unique abilities and tactical savvy. In crescendo, Deacon ignites the man-hybrid's skull implant with a bio-magnetic pulse, Asa delivers a shocking blow, and Cailyn assists in the takedown. The creature, reverted to human form, is left questioning its identity, offering a momentary pause in the violent encounter. Deacon, never one to linger in the aftermath, takes his leave promising to delve deeper into the enigma, while Cailyn and Asa recover from the turmoil with an air of camaraderie amid the lingering mystery.

[Wed Dec 20 2023]

On Suncrest Lane
Shrouded by boughs overhead and sticking out like civilization itself marked a patch of road in defiance of the forest itself, this route appears utterly mundane in its construction. Little effort seems to have gone in making this area little more than something functional for the occasional car or passerby on foot. At the very least, it is utilitarian in that it does seem to be keeping the encroaching woods at bay, at least for now.

It is afternoon, about 30F(-1C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds. It's snowing. Ankle high mist flows through the area.

(Members of an opposing faction or subfaction are after your target. They must escape them or fight them off for long enough for their allies to arrive and help keep them protected.
)
Anyone else looking to come along?

Deacon doesn't think so.

Cailyn thinks Ryan is cool...

If you can give me a start of what you all were doing, I can jump off of that. :D

Deacon and Cailyn are actually just getting out Deacon's vehicle, a smoky grey Nissan SUV that he's parked somewhere out there in the woods, well west of town off of Devilwood lane. The tall man is wearing a form-fitting ballistic vest with dragon-scale pockets, a military straight-bladed sabre hanging from his hip.

Cailyn is wearing... Her usual shit.

Though Cailyn is strapped! Just to make that clear.

It's a good thing that Deacon is ready for battle, because off in the distance, he can see a black van approaching down Devilwood Lane. It seems that they were followed out here west of town, the cold chill in the winter air settling as once the two of them get past the hustle and bustle of the Devilwood traffic, it becomes apparent that this group of people in the black van isn't here for tourism.

Lucky for Deacon too, that he's at least somewhat familiar with black-bag vehicles like this one. "Uh .. was Harriet trying to have you like .. excommunicated or whatever you call it over there?" Deacon wonders suddenly toward Cailyn as his eyes suddenly peer down the road. He frowns, his hand dropping to his hip, the other reaching behind him, under the hem of his shirt at the back of his waistband. "I hope you're ready but a rustle" he adds, trying to get a bead on how many people are in those vehicles - tinted windows ever the curse of average perception.

To Cailyn, she can see into the van at the driver. He's wearing what appears to be armor, a few weapons strapped to it, and a familiar sunburst logo on the side.

"Not with that logo, no," Cailyn murmurs as she reaches into her jacket and pulls out a handgun. "They're armored, several weapons," the redhead claims as she ducks behind Deacon's car. "Shit- I hope they ain't here for me."

Deacon can see in the dim light a number of other people in the back, shrouded by the rest of the van, the glint of steel as weapons are loaded and readied.

As they get spotted, the driver turns sharply, putting the van in a T bone formation as the side door opens and a half dozen of them pour out, weapons at the ready and masks on. Each of them carries a patch of an emblazoned sun on it as one calls out, "Put down your weapons, We're here for what's ours!" he yells as he holds up a hand to wave forward the tactical team. One of them is hauling some sort of box with a collar on it, and the rifles they are carrying seem to be fitted with tranquilizers. "Go go go!" the lead man says as he waves them forward, the team spreads out, moving towards Cailyn and Deacon, about 50 feet off, spreading wide to try and cut off escape.

That request doesn't go unanswered, but it won't be in the form of putting his weapons down. As soon as those guys start pouring out of the van, Deacon is backing up toward the front of his own vehicle and whipping out a matte black 9mm pistol. Pap! Pap! Pap! Three quick trigger pulls come from Deacon as he tries to forestall these guys' advancing as he grunts at the sight of so many. "Well, hell's bells I oughta be flattered" he calls out to them, before casting a side-long glance toward Cailyn. "That's a lot of fuckin' Templar who the hell did you piss off, girl?!"

"Fuckin'- Probably pissed that I didn't take the deal with Claire!" Cailyn responds with a loud huff. She echoes Deacon's shots with a few- Not as well aimed- ones of her own. "Have /you/ ever met a fuckin' hybrid like me? I'm kinda' sorta' special."

It's a few moments, but the sight of a slender man running through the trees only to land behind one of the temple's team, snapping a foot up to drive it into his head with a char of ozone and a crackle of electricity is kind of a new one, especially for Asa himself. He only has a moment to give a salute before he's scrambling to keep up a good defense, his eyes sweeping over every person around him with the calculation of an executioner.

As Deacon fires off that pistol at long range it wings one of the men as he lets out a scream and falls down, bleeding from a shot that wasn't covered by his armor or his helmet. "Got a shooter!" The lead man calls as the rest of them break for cover breaking for the trees as they start peppering Cailyn and Deacon with tranquilizer darts, yelling between them. "Target acquired, Sir." one of them says into a radio as the one with the scientific looking electric collar box is huffing, trying to keep up with the rest of the squad.

"Confirmed it's her?" another one says as he looks up right before Asa cracks him in the side of the skull with a kick and he goes down.

"Send in the backup! She's got friends!" the lead calls out, as from a short ways away, the roaring sound of a motorcycle is heard in the distance.

The four of them left are spread out in the forest, taking cover behind trees and keeping their distance until backup arrives. A few tranquilizer shots miss from this range as they keep their heads on a swivel.

There's a grunt of frustration, the darts flying past as Deacon tries to duck behind his SUV while picking out the needles stuck in his vest or catching him on the bared skin. "Fuck!" He growls but catches sight of something new for him come careening through the trees and land on the scene. "I count four!" He calls out, over the top of the SUV while he's turning around to scan with narrowed eyes through the trees and the woods to look for movement from one of their enemies now - hoping he can bring down the numbers against them by one more if the timing is right. "Who's that with the Raiden moves?!" The Cajun wonders out toward Cailyn in a near-accusatory tone. "And I LIVE with a hyrbid like you - this is some heavy shit!"

Cailyn pauses her shooting as she just stares at Deacon. This bit of information makes her forget all about Asa. "WHAT?!?" She shrieks out to the Cajun. "Why the fuck didn't you tell me?!"

"Stonehouser," Asa calls, though it's quick and he's darting into the trees. all of a sudden his form a dark hazie image of himself then there's not only a crack but a hard one, and the sound of bones breaking as he seems to step out of the shadow of one try, sweep his gaze over one of the soldiers before pop, his fist snaps forward towards the man's throat. "Oh holy shit... I'm pretty... pretty deadly," he can't help but muse, taunting the other's with an air of haughteur, and most certainly in god blooded fashion. "Who's next... Anyone?" Really, I'm a fan of trying new things," he mentions leaning down and grabbing up a thick log before whipping it at the tree line tryhing to fish out some temple rats. "

The roar of the engine gets louder and louder as up the road in a large cloud of dust, what looks to be a large hulking man is tearing asphault to get there as when he rides up, he slides the motorcycle up against the back of the van, rocking it slightly as he gets off, and as Asa dispatches a few of the rank and file Templars, the Leader whistles to the guy with the collar box as they retreat back to the van. "This is Demolisher work, Joe. We're getting the fuck out." he yells as they pull back and the hulking man spits on the ground as he rounds that same van, pulling off a black leather jacket as he growls at them. "Take it off!" he says to the Lead Templar as his arm muscles bulge, pulling at a silver collar around his neck.

"We're not coming back for you, Dog!" The Templar says as he revs up the van and peels out, throwing a small black device out the window at the hulking man.

*CRUNCH* the man's foot destroys the device, and the lights on the silver collar wink out, "Finally. Those fucks don't know what they're in for."

Watching this go down, Deacon is eying the situation from his place taking cover at the front of his vehicle. "Hey, sha! Why don't you turn around and put it to those fucker, non? I can garuntee you safe harbor!" It's a long-shot but he makes the play for dimplomacy, all the while he flashes the tip of his sabre and it's blade from out of his cover - it's a Damascus steel blade, so it's NOT silver but it has that -look- and from afar it might be enough to create some hesitation for the 'dog' that the Templars have sicked on them.

Deacon's meneuvers put him in a prime position to have some slightly higher ground than the Hulking Man, as he rips the collar off, he howls out to the sky, reverberating amongst the trees as his skin starts to crawl, his nose lengthens, and his clothes shred. As his bones crack and fur grows all over his body, before you stands a monstrous looking wolf-man hybrid creature, fangs glinting in the light and sharp claws on his hands. The transformation complete, The hybrid Wolf starts tearing off towards Cailyn, the most visible of the trio.

Seeing the change, Deacon will act rather than wait, shifting toward the creature now to try and intercept its path toward Cailyn as he pops out of sight and then re-appearing in front of the beast. "Where you goin', boi?" That accent comes thickly, in the heat of battle.

Cailyn blinks rapidly and fumbles with her sidearm- Especially when Deacon gets in the way. She looks absolutely frightened and she points towards Asa. "Hey!" She calls out, "Help Deacon!" Then she's running forwards, to both the hybrid wolf and her Cajun protector, hands lifting. They glow brightly, an attempt to blind the metaphorical freight train coming towards them.

"Well, I don't have my bow on me... so, that's gonna be a bit of a bitch to do... let's just start there..." Asa says catching up with her in speed. "throw me your pistol. I can still help a little. just... trust me. You got a knife?" It's all delivered quick, brief. Apparently he's quick at learning team cooperation. Then he makes another high jump in the air, flipping before he moves to kick the wolf in the side skidding across the stones and sliding back in a nice anime like slide, that's spoiled by him tripping and falling off. "Fuck..."

The hulking Manwolf is distracted by Deacon pathing next to him, as it wheels around, swiping at Deacon, attempting to grab him with an arm as the claws smack into his armor, but do not pierce. Luckily Cailyn is fast enough to get a jump on the wolf while it swipes at Deacon and it's sensitive eyes are dazzled by her light. "RWARARAAARHRHRHR" it growls as it swipes near-blindly at the two of them, missing completely as someone gives it a kick. A yelp comes from it as a little bit of singed skin from the electricity starts to heal quickly. The murderous rage of the wolf focused in on Asa now as he snarls at him, wiping it's eyes to try and clear the dazzling, and it runs back towards him angrily.

There's a challenging roar from Deacon that comes in reply to the sound from the werewolf, and he doesn't even really seem to be aware he's screamed it out until his blade is lunging for the beast with a vicious stab, whirling his full body around to pivtot that forward thrust into a back-handed over the top strike that comes down at the creature while it tries to focus on Asa, now. For a moment in that flash of light from Cailyn, the man's entire frame seems to beam with a golden aura that almost dims the other light around it before the vision is gone. In its wake, Deacon seems to move a little more readily, strike a little more quickly.

"Deacon! Your sword!" Cailyn calls out as she steps about the man, obviously heint him for cover. She only hopes the man hears her or pays attention, as she's reaching for the blade of his sabre. The teamwork actually seems to be calming the redhead down for the moment.

Asa slides in on the other side of Cailyn, after Deacon goes in like a tornado, and the whole super-hero nature of the scene isn't quite lost on him, as even he can't help but fall into the role, winking to Cailyn, "It's totally okay we got it now...if you like wanna help us finish it off." Man he shouldn't give smoldering fuck me looks like that too people, but well, he's the pretty one.

Slashing at Asa to tear at his clothes, The hulking man-wolf raises an arm to catch Deacon's sword on his forearm, the damascus steel biting deeply into it's muscle as he howls out in pain. A kick comes up to plant into Deacon's chest as Cailyn grabs for the sword, and it's jaws lunge forward and attempt to bite at Cailyn, grasping the sleeve of her coat and tearing it off as it growls loudly, in the heat of battle.

A huge grunt comes out of Deacon and the sword Cailyn's reaching for is left buried into the muscle and sinew of the wolf's arm now. Perhaps she can grab it in time, but he'll be flung backward by the powerful kick of the creature and once more he'll find himself slamming into the bole of a tree - a thick crunch sound partly from the wood and partly from him before he'll fall down toward the underbrush. This close to the road it's pretty clear, so that underbrush is mostly just dirt. A groan escapes the pile of man, before slumping back down for a moment.

Roaring it's pain along with it's temporary victory, SRRyan grasps at Cailyn to tackle her, free arm without a sword lodged in it wrapping around her waist as it picks her up and swings it's profusely bleeding arm back at Asa to batter him away. At his angle, Cailyn can see the crudely attached metal plate in it's head that makes up some sort of function. Lined in silver and never healing, it has some thick scar tissue around the plate and what's underneath, buried in the wolf-man's skull.

The Wolf-man grasps at her, even.

Wobbly but recovering, Deacon is slowly shoving himself up to his feet trying to stumble forward and push himself back into the fight. It will take him a few paces and more to try and catch himself back up to the scene though, hopefully Asa taking some of the brunt in the meantime.

Asa is belted suddenly and he goes rolling though luckally not as bad as he thought it would be, sliding across the stones and just managing to keep from getting a wolfman delivered version of road rash. He picks himself up slowly, and then with a smirk at Deacon, he snaps his foot out and kicks him in the rump with the toe of his boot. "Time to get up, man... also yeah I kicked you because I'm still mad about the last time I helped you. Let's go..." Then he's running forward trying to dodge the swiping claw. He starts to move to keep between the wolf and Deacon, fighting defensively with blocks of any s trikes that way, occasionally sending jolts of electricity through his hands into what he can grab of the creature.

Deacon is able to see the Temple's implant in the Wolf Hybrid's skull.

"Mother fu-" Cailyn starts to berate the wolf-man before the air is snatched from her lungs as she's grabbed. "Head! Th- Thing!" She shouts out, definitely helping both Deacon and Asa.

The kick in the ass proverbial and literal is enough to jolt Deacon back into more forceful action but he pauses as Asa rolls back in and the man-sized monster has Cailyn grappled up and within its grasp. The gleam and glint of silver will catch his eyes and there's a sinister-looking grin that comes across the man's face. He narrows his eyes and then with a sneer he's darting forward. From his body comes a subtle pulse of bio-magnetic energy like an EMP. Unnoticeable to most anyone perhaps, but not to that implant in the wolf's skull!

Asa can't really see that bit of metal, but he doesn't really mind when he gets harder to see again, whipping around behind the creature. Then as he changes a little bit in personality, he says in a cold voice, "You're gonna let her go..." someone
That foot comes up again full force and he plants it nice and hard into wolfman nuts.

That foot comes up again full force and he plants it nice and hard into wolfman nuts.

Deacon can't help but grin if he notices this. When in doubt? Ro-sham-bo.

Battering at Asa with the lodged sword arm, and trying to back away with Cailyn in his other arm, Asa is able to shock a number of strikes into it, singing fur as the wolf-hybrid howls out in anger and pain. As it crouches down and lunges it's full bodyweight at Asa, Deacon pushes that chip to it's limit, overloading it and the wolf-man's eyes roll back in it's head, it's momentum carrying it full force into Asa kicks it dead in the nuts, it's dead weight to bowl him over onto the ground, landing him and Cailyn in a heap as the being falls unconcious. The sickening sound of bones cracking, flesh tearing, and smoke as the hulking man is back to his human form, singed and smoking, the small electric burns healing over his body as he groans quietly in the heap on the ground. A hand slowly goes down to cup his nuts, muttering, "Owww....who....am...I?" he asks as he slowly opens his eyes..."Where...?" he asks, confused, his other hand coming up to touch at a tender part of his skull, covered in hair, but Deacon and Cailyn can see a small metal plate, smoking from the overload and shorting out. It seems as though this man's memories are returning.""

With a quick grin, Deacon takes a heavy breath before bending over to pant and then collect his blade. He seems still-amped up but he's glancing toward Cailyn. "Alright now .. this is some shit. We'll have to rain-check the field trip. I want to look into what the fuck is going on here ..."

Deacon has to head out here so he can catch another appointment of sorts, he had a great time!

It was fun!

Asa lies on the ground and he winks at Cailyn when he's flopped on. "Uh... hi... like... er... here, let me get up." He winks and then he looks past Cailyn to Deacon as he said, "It's totally fun to like assault you at random times throughout the day, like definitely."

With that, Deacon appears ready to head off, leaving Asa and Cailyn to introduce one another and deal with the wolf. "Ha! Only so long as I ain't hitting back, non?" He calls over a shoulder before heading off rather uncerimoniously forgettingg he'd brought Cailyn out here after all.
