Meridiths Odd Encounter Sr Jessica 240331

In a tranquil cabin nestled in the embrace of nature, Meridith encountered an odd and unsettling disturbance while concluding her morning shower. The tranquility of her home was shattered by a bizarre gurgling sound emanating from the shower drain, an occurrence odd enough to initially pique her irritation but quickly escalate into concern as water inexplicably jetted from the drain with such force that it dislodged the metal cover and soaked the ceiling. Meridith’s frustration turned into alarm as the plumbing anomaly devolved into a clear sign of something far more sinister, prompting her to arm herself in preparation for what was to come.

As the situation in the shower enclosure deteriorated, with dark, muddy water spilling from the drain, a slimy black tentacle emerged, blindly groping around and transforming Meridith's morning into a scene straight out of a nightmare. Displaying remarkable calm and resilience, Meridith engaged the creature with her bow, managing to injure the tentacle, thus initiating a fierce but brief confrontation. The creature, apparently wounded by Meridith's arrows, eventually retreated back into the depths from which it came, leaving behind a damaged shower, a mess to clean up, and a shaken but unharmed Meridith. Despite the ordeal, she remained composed, signs of her battle experience evident in her measured response to a threat that was both unexpected and otherworldly.

In A Small Cabin
In this small but well-designed living space the walls are adorned with wooden panels, giving a sense of nature indoors. To your left, there's a black sofa with plush cushions, and warious throw pillows. The sofa is strategically placed near a large window that allows natural light to fill the room during the day. The window also provides picturesque views of the surrounding wilderness.

On the opposite side, there's a neatly arranged bed with green linens and various mix-matched pillows. The bed is framed by a wooden headboard, adding to the rustic feel of the cabin. Overhead, a warm and subtle lighting fixture casts a soft glow, creating a tranquil ambiance in the sleeping area.

Adjacent to the bed, a built-in closet is seamlessly integrated into the wooden wall. The closet features sliding or folding doors, maximizing space efficiency. Inside, there are shelves, drawers, and hanging rods for organizing clothes and personal items, keeping the cabin clutter-free.

Overall, this one-bedroom cabin combines the comforts of modern living with the tranquility of nature, providing a serene retreat for those seeking a peaceful escape.

It is afternoon, about 43F(6C) degrees, and the sky is partly covered by dark grey stormclouds.

Meridith was engaged in a morning shower.

It's a typical Haven afternoon in the spring time, clouds cover the sky making it dark outside even though its the middle of the day. A familiar sight all year round. Meridith is just finishes up her shower in the enclosed glass cubicle. With the water off the last of the water swirls down the drain and to top it off an obnoxious GLUG GLUG bubbles from the drain. An unusual noise. But easy to brush off.

A few moments later another GLUG GLUG emits from the drain. Then a few more seconds pass and the GLUG GLUG accompanies a bubbling of water gurgling back up out of the drain.

Meridith winces. Pipes being backed up isn't an unusual sound. She's dried off, she's getting dressed and she's watch the water and letting out an angry scowl. "Come on...not again."

GLUG GLUG echos the glass shower enclosure again as Meridith watches water gurgle up out of the drain. As she looks at it the water suddenly explodes out of the drain, spouting like out of a whale's blowhole to hit the ceiling and blast the metal drain cover off it's screws. The water jet subsides, leaving water dripping from the ceiling. The plumbing issue appears quite extreme.

Meridith yelps and throws herself back. "Ah fucking hell!" She exclaims, furious. She glowers at her shower, and her little cabin ruefully. She snags for her phone and tries to find a plumber to call.

As Meridith goes through her phone the drain glugs some more. Then, there is silence. A long silence as the drain stays there no longer spouting water, uncapped from it's cover, no longer making any noise. It's just a hole in the bottom of the shower where some remaining drips of water find their way back down.

Meridith moves along to inspect down the drain, was it just backed up pressure? Nothing came up? She blinks, trying to understand the physics at play here

The drain remains silent as Meridith looks down into it. It's dark, as the light doesn't quite reach deep enough into it, but something shimmers and moves deep in the drain, something only Meridith's eyes can perceive but the layman likely would not even notice.

Meridith exhales sharply. "Fuck me," she murmurs and steps away, she moves for her backpack. She lets out a low whistle. The backpack of course containing her weapons

Wise, retreating for her weapons Meridith hears another GLUG GLUG from the drain, though this one sounds louder. Closer somehow like it's nearer to the mouth of the drain than before. A moment later the water begins to bubble up, but this is not normal shower water, its a dark, gross muddy type of water that spills out of the drain to mess up the bottom of the shower.

Meridith winces, but the clean up has drifted further from her mind, pounding headache she snags her bow and draws it, stringing it, and pulling an arrow to make ready for whatever emerges.

There is only one entry point and Meridith has the wits about her to prepare her bow long ahead of what comes next. Slinking out of the drain, a dark slimy black tentacle wiggles out and begins to feel around the immediate dimensions of the shower, blindly feeling around

Meridith yelps and looses the arrow toward the entrance of the drain.

Something deep in the drains screeches as the tentacle is clipped by the arrow, lacerating it. It whips around to strike the glass of the shower, cracking it and spraying dark black blood against it. The appendage moves around wildly, trying to fight back but Meridith stayed at range to avoid the threat.

Meridith notches another arrow. Steady, she reminds herself. She's engage in countless battles against the creatures of the woods. This one is new, but she is not a novice. She moves slow, studying it, and taking a deep breath before loosing another arrow.

Another shriek echos as the arrow this time pierces straight through the slimy tentacle, lodging there. The tentacle yanks back down into the hole only to be stopped by the shaft of the arrow so it yanks, and yanks till the arrow snaps in two, leaving dark blood everywhere. More shrieking screams from the drain, but it seems to get more and more distant as whatever the tentacle belonged to, flees.

Meridith takes a deep breath and approaches her shower, slowly peering into the depths, hand on the hilt of her sword as she does, nervous. Is she ever going to be able to shower in here again? She wonders...

Nothing comes back, a little bleach and elbow grease may be able to clean up the mess, plus replacing the cracked glass and shower drain cover. But other than that Meridith is unscathed and left to her own devices
