Built from Masonic traditions, the Beloved established a Grand Lodge in Haven that follows the heritage of Western mysticism and principals of their forefathers. The Beloved are a brotherhood, venerating Eros as their Supreme Being, and taking the adage "God is Love" to its absolute limits.
The Beloved believe humanity is best governed through secular law, which have been represented in the organizational structures of Freemasonry since its inception. The Beloved claim the success of modern government as one of their many victories over the masses.
They consider Western democracy an effective and necessary vehicle for supernatural-natural relations, considering themselves stewards and directors of history. The Beloved will utilize any means to further their agenda, both magical and mundane, such as advocating beneficial legislature, invoking primordial deities, and performing rites and rituals for proper worship. They are firmly rooted in conservative values, regardless of outward appearances. Their individual expressions can include perspectives more in line with libertarian, identitarian, or egalitarian ideals, and while they may disagree on the specific points, they universally agree that peace andorder are the byproducts of their efforts.
The Beloved have one philosophy: "Love is the Law, Love under Will." If God is Love, then His Will is Law unto itself. The Beloved seek to embody and actualize this single truth, becoming closer to Him, guided by this principal toward what is best for humanity. While they expect civic obedience, their members draw agency and authority from this one Law.
The Beloved employ various strategies to realize their goals, from gaining favours to hushed proselytizing. The brotherhood combats opposition by shaping social convention, hosting charity, fundraising, and benefit events, investing in servants, mastering magics, and embodying Divine Will. The fraternity tries to steer the reins of power and assure global stability.
The Beloved often attracts those versed in the arcane, though any man with an appreciation for all forms of strength can find fellowship. Women are forbidden in the brotherhood and its holdings, and even romantic encounters with women are kept secret. The Beloved believe these practices and devotional acts bring them closer to the Supreme Being and serve to fuel their power and influence.
