Francis Long

One of Haven's local chapters of the Black Circle, the Eyes of Osiris, sometimes called the Osiri or the Osir, is made up entirely of Black Circle arcanists and those that serve or protect their interests.

The Black Circle, also called the Black Council, is an organization of magical practitioners devoted to the pursuit of individual power above all else. They tend to perceive non-magically adept supernaturals as only slightly better than humans and judge everyone by their arcane skill and knowledge. They frequently traffic with demons and other higher powers and are famed for the dark magical experiments they conduct on humans and animals alike.

In order to protect their interests in Haven primarily, the Osiri are fond of performing rituals or magic for anyone who asks, but there's always a price involved in some form or fashion. This is how they usually are able to further their research, common prices typically include voluntary experimentation or martial assistance.

A strict dress code is expected out of the Eyes of Osiris' members within the enclave's halls, and the higher ranking members are expected to adhere to the rules of Sumptuary even outside of it.

Abuse of apprentices is very common in the Eyes of Osiris, so those who wish to join must keep in mind that bad things will probably happen to them.

Overview

Ranks, Rules, & Requirements

Indebted
Indebted are clients of the Osiri. No rules bind them, per se. More trusted clients are given access to the library, and perhaps even to the shrines of worship, but this is rare. They have no official duties beyond what they owe to the Circle.

Indentured
Indentured are those who serve the Osiri. Often clients unable to pay their dues, they typically bear a brand from one of the higher ranking members, but this doesn't happen often. Those who are not combat inclined wear a rather skimpy robe within the halls of the enclave, those who are are given a menacing uniform to patrol the halls with. Their duties include cleaning after the Osiri, cooking for them, and submitting themselves for psychic feeding or experimentation. Those combat inclined must also protect the Circle.

Initiate
Members of the Circle who have no supernatural powers whatsoever but are interested in learning. These members have all the duties of the Indentured but are given a less revealing uniform, those typical of a catholic school student, with girls wearing skirts that drop just below the knees and boys in slacks, otherwise wearing suits both, in dark colors. Those combat inclined can add holsters for weapons, that must remain visible inside the walls.

Apprentice
Members of the Circle who have supernatural powers but do not have an Arcane focus. They are assigned to a Councilman or Master, who is their teacher, but are expected to serve all members of the Council and the Masters in the same way Initiates and Indentured are. They are to wear the same clothes as Initiates, though they often bear the brand of their Councilman or Master.

Novice
Members of the Circle who have an Arcane Focus of at least one. They are assigned to a Councilman or Master, who is their teacher, and while they must treat all Councilmen and Masters with respect, they only have to submit themselves to experimentation and psychic feeding to their respective Councilman or Master. They may wear what they like within the walls, as long as it's formal wear.

Asset
Assets are those loyal to the Osiri without being Indentured or without possessing an arcane focus. They are often considered the belonging of a Councilman, Master, or even those greater in rank, and bear the mark of that person. They usually possess a combat or social focus and can wear whatever they like, and are to be treated by Indentured as they would Councilmen or Masters. Their duties are usually using their resources or powers to support or protect the Circle.

Councilman
Members of the Circle who have up to 3 Arcane Focus points. Councilmen are to treat Masters and those of greater rank with respect, but do not have to submit themselves to experimentation or psychic feeding. Councilmembers get 1 vote on decisions within the Circle. They are expected to dress formally at all times, and often wear Victorian era fashion.

Master
Members of the Circle who have up to 5 Arcane Focus points. Masters get 2 votes on decisions within the Circle. They are expected to dress formally at all times, and often wear Victorian era fashion. Masters are to treat those of greater rank then they are with respect, but do not have to submit themselves to experimentation or psychic feeding.

Heir to Duat
Heirs to Duat are Tier 5 demigods. They get 3 votes on decisions within the Osiri and can wear what they please. They're expected to be of darker aspects to be considered heirs. Heirs can do as they please, as long as they do not hurt the Osiri as a whole and as long as they remain respectful of their peers, at least at gatherings.

Prince of Hell
Princes of Hell are Tier 5 demonborn. The title Prince is unisex, just as Demon King is in the plane of Hell itself. They get 3 votes on decisions within the Osiri and can wear what they please. Princes can do as they please, as long as they do not hurt the Osiri as a whole and as long as they remain respectful of their peers, at least at gatherings
