[Public Record:] The Haven Welcoming Committee, aka The Lamplighters, is a very small locally run 501(c)(4) tax-exempt social welfare organization based at the Second-Hand Haven Thrift shop near Haven Medical Center. The group focuses on making itself and its resources available to all newcomers to the township, from housing and employment placement to social service referrals to crisis intervention and assistance. We are staffed by volunteers with light training in counseling and listening as well as those who choose to volunteer in some capacity in order to assist in helping others as they have likewise been helped. Funding is generously provided by employee-staffed donation drives and social events, as well as income from a second-hand store stocked with donated items.
[Supernatural Record:] The primary goal of The Lamplighters is working to establish a code of consent between supernaturals and naturals, with a belief that it is both possible and beneficial for the two to co-exist with communication and cooperation. To this end, an explicit Code of Conduct is their first order of business, including rules and guidelines for the treatment of those humans in service to members of the supernatural community to engage in those interactions with informed consent and freedom of choice is the first order of business. This Contract will lay out the steps taken to ensure such, as well as punishments for transgressions against those it seeks to protect, and The Lamplighters are Oathed to to uphold and enforce it.
The secondary focus of The Lamplighters is to liaise between the human and supernatural communities in Haven. Emphasis is placed upon identifying and interacting with unfactioned non-human newcomers to determine their goals and to introduce them to suitable factions for protection and training. In order to maintain the free will of humanity living amongst and with superhumanity we aggressively seek out naturals in service or beholden to those of superior power and standing to ascertain whether such bondage is voluntary or enforced by unnatural means with attempts made to sever the latter. We attempt to vassal unaware humans to the organization as 'volunteers', to solidify their protection until such time as they are made aware, and decide whom they wish to be protected by or serve with.
