The Shadow Guard
The Shadow Guard was conceived on Jan. 10, 2017. It was the main decision of one man, to speak out and reach a consensus on resources to fund the project. Though one man might have created the faction as it stands, it was created with the concept in mind, that it would span on for generations should it need to, for the completion of the victories that are sought. There are rumors that the first leader was a former member of the Order, however since his views had shifted, it is believed that the original statement of theirs, was adopted into techniques that the former Hand used as well.
Somewhat a combination of both, it is a bit difficult to tell who its backers are at times, but one can fathom at it, as the faction makes no attempt to mask that their views on those of all other philosophies lack one simple thing to achieve their goals. Dominance. It teaches that one must strive to become better, and to enact change, one must be willing to do all manner of activities. The ends justifies the means, is the concept which those that hold rank in the faction follow.
With no hierarchy, there is to be no way that one can come together for a common goal, and as such, there is one for the Shadow Guard. All members come in and are administered into a command structure which is much like the military, though based around a concept that all who join are either training to be Knights, or in a Knight rank already. There are divisions which allow people to practice in Professional venues, Combative venues, and even in the Arcane venues. All members from different backgrounds are known to be welcome, if one can contribute to the cause. There are no racial restrictions as well, but both vampires and werewolves might have a difficult time with the faction's atmosphere, even though accommodations can and will be made to be inclusive if those with such lineage wish to be a member.
The mission statement is a simple one. The Shadow Guard believes that humans must be pushed to their limit, supernatural and mundane. Achievement is measured with not just rank, but the merit of one's actions, the desire to see a New World that will Dawn from the shadows. Until such a time, the Shadow Guard has simple duties. Secure and protect the Gate when possible. Introduce dominion upon those that would hinder a world in which the Supernatural can take its rightful place as the masters upon the world. Also known, is that there is rumor that new technologies are being developed within the faction, ones that can change the world. From the mundane, to what some would call Magitek. The Guard often wishes to find alliance with those that have views which are similar, or also that will not hinder them.
The Shadow Guard participates with the Supernatural Cold War, and often times their activities can sometimes be traced back to criminal and various other trade elements, those that can traffic in the supply which they deal with. While the Guard does want to create a peace through sheer force, and is willing to do this through combative force, it is also known to make diplomatic deals for the sake of their desires.
Also, while they make it clear that structured force is their method, through various means, there is a leaning to respect of the Venetian Treaty. Besides their mission statement, they are known to be active in criminal trade, to support their needs, as well as the fact that often they are willing to launch assaults on other factions to shift the balance. Operations, Alchemy, Criminal Trade, Missions. Those that join are expected to participate where their abilities put them. What is less known about their usual mission statement, is that there is a hope to extend their own little personal Empire to places such as Canada and Eastern Europe countries, in part for themselves, as well as also in part for their backers. One cannot succeed with no sacrifice, and their willingness to be more clear about their goals, more forceful, more pro-active, often puts them within a difficult position with other factions.
(OOC: This faction welcomes all, even dual-faction people. There is an expectation to RP and be involved. Do not expect to get along with Resistance, Harmonious, or most Patronizing, Domineering, and Darwinian factions, unless ideals line up, or do not conflict, which is rare. This faction will be active participants with the Cold War. Expect conflict.)
