The Vanguard is a group of Socialists with a broad range of views whose ultimate goal is to spread Socialist ideas around the world in combat of supernatural corruption. They believe that corruption, including supernatural corruption, is driven by the need for wealth and power in a capitalistic society. The competition of supernaturals between themselves and humans creates a need to do anything necessary to get ahead. To create a world where supernaturals can live in harmony with each other and humans capitalism needs to be abolished and economic justice and social equality needs to be achieved.
They do not endorse any particular type of Socialism, believing that the people should choose for themselves how they should restructure society. Because of the wide range of Socialist beliefs, ranging from Democratic Socialism to Communism, its not uncommon for members to have debates among themselves as to the best form of Socialism to promote.
To spread Socialism and help it flourish The Vanguard exists to fight against groups that seek world domination under capitalist systems, to promote Socialist revolutions worldwide, to safeguard against corruption within those revolutions, and to secure Haven under its control. To help their goal of reaching Socialism and create a world where the basic needs of people are met the world must reach a post scarcity society; Haven and Gate Magic are the keys to achieving this.
In addition to promoting Socialism The Vanguard participates in other activities, including but not limited to; protecting exploited workers, stealing from the capitalist class, giving to the poor and disenfranchised, teaching Socialist ideas, offering moral support for supernaturals seeking to turn away from their corruption, and corporate sabotage.
The faction had originally been an exclusively Communist (See Marx pictured above) up until the beginning of 2017, by which point their goal was changed to promote Socialism, with Communism being one of the possible variants of Socialist ideas.
