HAVEN POLICE AND CRIME REPORTS

  • The body of an older woman was found in The Oasis, located on 40 Washington Street. While it is still under investigation, no foul play is suspected at this time. No charges are currently being pressed and with the owner of The Oasis having passed away, it is uncertain if the indoor pool will remain open or not.
  • Officers were called to a domestic dispute. The matter is said to have been resolved and they are not expecting a repeat occurance.
  • A possible terrorist was spotted running around the Elm Street mall with a rifle. HSD has stated that it has since been taken care of.
  • One of the bartenders at The Ruby Lounge was murdered over the last week. It is currently under investigation and no further details are open to the public.
  • A fire broke out at the lodge on Wednesday, January 30th. The TV apparently blew up, but it has since been replaced by a generous donation from the Haven Sheriff's Department. It has been assumed that the electronic device may just have been really old.
  • A news report states that a dead body was found near the beach early on Saturday morning. Early speculation states that he must have lost his way and drowned as a result of the heavy mist that came up from the ocean just before dawn.

ASK THE CITIZENS:

'''Our reporting team went around Haven, stopping people on the street and wanting to know personal answers to our questions!'''

  • "What does Rebirth mean to you?"

"Rebirth is an opportunity to reinvent yourself, leave old wounds behind, and look to the future. It's the potential for a better tomorrow." - Sarah Cohen, 18

"To me, rebirth symbolizes a new beginning. It's a new genesis. Tabula rasa. A clean slate? It's a chance to rise up again without the chains of yesterday holding you down." - Angelique Blanc, 20

"That was like, the worst of the Resident Evil movies." - Steve "Stevvo" Turchek, 41

"I feel like after all the crazy terrorist stuff that happened, that it means that our town is going to be a lot more peaceful and that all the weird stuff won't happen anymore." - Anita Perez, 19

  • "Valentine's Day is just around the corner. How do you feel about the holiday and do you have any special plans?"

"Valentines seems like a commercialized day. It's fun to joined in and appreciate your loved one, but appreciation is even more fun when it's spontaneous. As for me, I'm afraid I don't have anyone yet, but I believe it will come in its own time." - Angelique Blanc, 20

"Sure, it's a great excuse to treat a woman like royalty, but you don't really need one day out of the year for an excuse for that. As for plans, it completely depends on if someone special shows up and if I don't get called off again. Always happens at the most inconvenient times." - Deputy Chief Guy Froste, 21

"I will begin the day by watching The Notebook...Finally, I will go home, alone, drink a bottle of gin...and I will feel immense relief that I didn't have to spend a grand that day on the person I cared about.." - Jei Smith, 22

"I'm going to take my girlfiend on a romantic date, and then I'm going to propose to her in Hazelwood Park." - Anonymous (to keep the surprise), 24
