HAVEN POLICE AND CRIME REPORTS

  • The Arkwright Cemetery has closed its gates to visitation due to a possible environmental hazard. The reek of decay is pretty apparent all about the area and officials urge citizens to remain calm pending further investigation.
  • Several bodies have been reported as missing from the Haven Medical Center over the course of the last two weeks, in an unprecedented and some say, impossible breach in security. The hospital, officials and the sheriffs can make no public statement at the moment on which bodies were taken. Citizens are urged to provide any information on possible subjects.
  • A string of murders have taken place over the last two weeks in Haven, including the loss of Deputy Wilson. Information regarding them have been deemed strictly classified at this time and the cases are still under investigation by HSD.
  • Another thick mist was seen seeping into Haven early Sunday morning. Power was temporarily out around the city, but the plant has assured that all utilities should be up and in working order once again.

ASK THE CITIZENS:

'''Our reporting team went around Haven, stopping people on the street and wanting to know personal answers to our questions!'''

  • "What do you think Haven is missing as far as entertainment and fun goes?"

"Well, uh, let's see... I think we could do with more sports facilities. Like, basketball courts, or swimming pools, that kind of thing. I think we need a Cinema in town." - Janine Kyler, 22

"Ah, well, I have yet to find a movie theatre around here." - Evan Clarke, 28

"We need like... a resort. Somewhere to relax and get away, when we can't go off on a big vacation." - Heather O'Neal, 20

"We need a theatre." - Chief Deputy Guy Froste, 21

"I suppose a movie theatre, then. Or a stage where they do local plays." - Courtney Townsend

"I'm gonna go with a bowling alley. Can't believe we don't have one. Need glow in the dark pins too." - Nicolas Hue, 13

"Car club things. Go-karts. Miniature golf?" - Nash Walker, 35

WEEKLY HAVEN CITIZEN SPOTLIGHT: Laurel Stern

A professional-quality photograph has been inserted on the page:
Posed with impeccable posture upon a black leather office chair, the petite frame of this woman is still evident despite half of her slender body being concealed behind an elegant, varnished walnut desk. Vivid emerald eyes have been captured with a keen interest within the picture, the carelessly tousled golden curls of hair falling in cascade over her shoulders to frame the rosy, creamy lightness of her face. A black binder imprinted with the company symbol is held up near her head, showing it off with a curved smile of pink lips. With a confident tick of her chin, her clothing is a unique blend of casual and designer wear.

     Name: Laurel Stern
     Occupation: Owner of Stern Aegis

An amiable and well skilled blonde by the name of Laurel Stern has taken up business here in Haven, establishing a neat office at 30 Main Street. In this age of technology, she has opened her doors to offer two extremely important assets: computers and information. Even in my brief conversation with her, it came clear that this Boston native was not only efficient and took her work seriously, but she was professionally candid and straight-forward in a refreshing manner. The best way to contact this woman is through text, but she has invited anyone to feel free and stop by and see if she is in, stating that knocking on the door will get results.

Q: Do you offer these services to everyone? Is it a case by case basis for payment? Are you good?
A: I'm one of the best! That sounds so conceited, but I mean it, I really am good. I started with the government out of high school. And yes, I offer them to everybody, but I take them on a case by case basis and payment depends on what people want. I'll do anything from a customized computer build to giving you a set up to track your daughter's GPS so you know where she really is when she's out.

Q: Are your services confidential?
A: Absolutely confidential. If I think something's too questionable or that I can't -be- confidential about, I'll let the person know up front. I never take payment for an incompleted job, either.

Q: If you could share one thing with the Haven populace now that you're here, what would it be?
A: That it's okay to talk to new people in town and try to be friendly sometimes? Most of us don't bite? It's not an easy place to get to know much of anyone, I've discovered.

Q: Is there anything you will absolutely refuse to do?
A: Hmm... there's no way any sane person would break into the HSD data banks and you won't catch me doing it for any sum! Not a question of talent or money, just flat out won't.

Q: Tell me something that helps readers get to know you.
A: My favorite color is purple, my favorite dessert is anything chocolate, I like honest people and having fun and I hate thongs and pantyhose - two items clearly designed by men.
