Even among better organized Witch Hunter factions, such as those funded by The Temple, The Day of Red was catastrophic. For the smaller crews, already struggling to persist in a world so wholly corrupted by supernatural powers, it was nothing short of a reckoning. In the face of the newly empowered forces of darkness, Sam's outlaw biker gang, and others like them, fell like wheat before the scythe.
Witches are often served by monstrous minions. Sometimes, they are even monsters themselves. Hunting one invariably leads to conflicts with the other. The weaknesses and eccentricities often vary from one creature to the next, but Sam has spent over a decade on the hunt: If it can be killed, then he can find a way.
Few are as familiar with magic's potential for atrocity as witch hunters are. Though none among the Order have asked him to, Sam has assigned himself the task of keeping watch over the organization's many arcanists lest they fall to darkness. His decisions in this regard will undoubtedly be colored by his prejudice against their art.
Sam is not a good person. There is blood on his hands. With warrants for his arrest up and down the East Coast, a litany of enemies among the arcane circles, and a deep-seated mistrust of practitioners of magic which borders on outright hatred, his position within The Order is a questionable one. Still, his desire to atone appears to be earnest, and his preconceptions about witchcraft are challenged with every passing day.
