A Battle In The Nightmare 240324

(A battle in the Nightmare)

[Sat Mar 23 2024]

On Main Street beside Haven National Bank

It is night, about 44F(6C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds. There is a full moon.

Solomon says "Ah. The nightmare is like an old friend."
Meridith says "Ah "
Solomon says "Who is it who hides there in the night?"
Meridith says "Hello, is that...Solomon?"
Solomon says "At your service."
Meridith says "Lovely, just us, I pray?"
Meridith closes some, this distance is vast, vaster than she expect. She approaches, blade drawn.

Tabitha says "We can try to take care of one that does not mean we have to sink our money in to buy the place. I think we should hit Devil's Cross, instead."
As Solomon strides forward, his eyes crackle red. "Your friends are here," he says, summoning down some lightning to blast against Meridith. "But I think they cannot help you, Walker. You are alone -- with me." He laughs, some low sound.

Meridith dives into a roll standing and stretching out, narrowly evading the lightning, left a bit staggered by it. "Christ..."

There is another low chant as Solomon strides forward. He has a black sword in his hand, and it seems to trail behind him like an after-image in the nightmare. With his other hand, he summons some low fire.

Meridith gazes about letting out a sigh. "Starting a half mile down the road from a wizard who can turn invisible makes for a very annoying fight." She scowls, brushing off the fire.

"Perhaps she got lost?" Miles suggests wryly, "Or she's on the other side of the street?"

Lightning crackles now, a dark fire as Solomon sees Meridith come into range. With an infernal chant he hurls black fire in her direction.

Meridith is helplessly moving into darkness, getting absolutely walloped by magic.

A step back, again -- summoning fire to hurl at Meridith. Solomon's eyes are red and dark.

Meridith finally spies him, and grimaces, hoping to perhaps at least deliver a blow she springs into motion.

Tabitha shrugs. "Maybe. I guess we go to Devil's Cross and if she speaks up, we'll let her know."

It's a step back, fire summoned again -- and then Solomon throws a lance of it at Meridith's left arm with a low, dark laugh. "I have you," he says, as infernal fire scorches her.

Meridith fades out of the nightmare.
