Caseys Nightmare Battle With Autumn 240127

(Casey's nightmare battle with Autumn)

[Fri Jan 26 2024]

In a Sparse Bedroom within the Haven Lighthouse
This small room is sparse and serves as living quarters for the
lighthouse keeper. Rough stone walls form an insulated barrier from the sea
and begin to curve toward the entrance of the stairwell. A bed rests in the
corner of the room beside a porthole-style window while bookshelves line the
wall with numerous old volumes of marine history.

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

Casey pauses a few moments, blinking twice as fog and void seems to roll in around her. Her lips purse as her dream weapons find themselves in her hands. "... hello?" Casey asks, glancing around the void.

"Hmm, this is new," Autumn says as she looks around the nightmare. "But I have heard of these before."

Casey takes a few moments more, "It isn't for me, hi!" Casey calls through the void. "The powers that be would like for us to do battle," Casey says, "For the glory of societies and all that," Casey says. "At least, it's dream fighting - I think, it's a little odd."

"No one gets really hurt in nightmare before," Autumn calls out as she wields her bow. "But at least this will be good practice."

Casey waggles her hand in a so-so fashion. "Well, no one gets physically hurt. There's something of an effect on the spirit," Casey says. "It will be good practice, do you do much fighting typically?" Casey asks, racking the bolt on her rifle as she glances into the darkness.

"Yes, mostly in operations," Autumn nods, proceeding to walk across the nightmare. "I will not summon familiar for this battle," she says with a shake of her head. "Unless you want to, but that wouldn't be fair fight."

"Well, you don't need to be fair, go hard if you feel like it, hmm?" Casey says, grinning a little bit wider. "Might not be fair if you don't, depending."

"I see," Autumn says before she chants words of power under her breath. The the darkness clears, she finds Casey. "Ah, what surprise," she says. "This is my first time doing this kind of battle."

Casey takes a few moments, noting how close they were together. A click of her tongue, and Casey unshoulders her axe. Casey runs her tongue over her upper teeth as she starts to advance, lowering her shoulder as she hears Autumn's chants and beginning to charge. "Hey, Autumn! This is a surprise."

"Yeah, I was about to practice my magic before tomorrow night," Autumn says as she wields her khopesh. Charging as well, she then proceeds to strike at Casey, the blade clashing against the axe.

Casey brings the haft of her axe up in front of that khopesh. "And what's tomorrow night?" Casey asks conversationally, Casey following that up as she swings her own axe towards Autumn's form.

"An operation," Autumn answers. Besides her, there is a puff of black smoke and A glowing salamander with fiery wings appears, which begins to charge at Casey. "In my homeland, that is. I fear my home village will be next." She then attempts another slash at the other woman while the salamander bears its claws and teeth.

Casey swings her axe at Autumn again at that. "Hmmn," Casey says, flickering her eyes towards Autumn.

Casey considers a moment more. "Are you hoping to protect your home village?" Casey asks of Autumn, as she tries to sidestep, the extra influence of the A glowing salamander with fiery wings causing her axe to swing a little more wildly.

Autumn nods her head. "Yes," she says, pursing her lips while she parries Casey's attacks and swinging her khopesh. "Should we fail and foothold is established, I have to get brother out of there. I would consider it as contingency plan or something."

Casey takes a step away from A glowing salamander with fiery wings, and twists on her foot - expression getting a little harried, Casey snaps her axe out, and with a twist - drives it into Autumn's side, luminiscent butterflies lighting from the rainbow trail that the axe leaves. Fortunately, which her dream kevlar protects against the blow, deflecting from her armor. "Well, I hope your... erg. Family stays safe," Casey says.

Autumn staggers back, looking at awe at the butterflies before she readies her blade again. There is a glint on her eyes as she prepares a slice. "Brother is only family I have, but yes."

Casey twists around and Casey brings her fireaxe up, Casey seeming to love twists and spins that leave that rainbow trail in the dream. With a huff, Casey twists - stepping foreward - unfortunately, that twist was a bad idea, as the khopesh dings off her back armor. But well, she manages to sink the head of the fireaxe into Autumn's belly in her dream-form.

Casey fades out of the nightmare.
