Deacons Bargaining 240213

(Deacon's bargaining)

[Mon Feb 12 2024]

In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

Walking into the room, Deacon just nods his chin toward the representative that's arrived here. "You know the drill" he murmurs to the man, before slipping him a piece of paper that he's been ordered to deliver. Not the first time he's made this particular shuffle, Deacon turns to find himself a spot against the wall to lean, and wait.

Upnodding to Deacon, Ryan walks in and looks to representative of Sheriff, "Well, I guess there's some deals to be made."

"Could be" Deacon replies to Ryan with a lift of his chin toward the man. He himself is leaning against the wall, seeming to be waiting himself for some indication of business.

"So you know that we support the HSD and keeping the unaware very in the dark about what goes on behind the curtain, and you know we work closely with your deputies to keep everyone safe. Isn't it in your best interests to keep those relationships working well? We're your best supporters, you know? We don't want The Temple to be chasing down Supernaturals, and we don't want The Hand to be subjugating the Natties either. So it just makes sense to support The Order, so that everyone has chill vibes and peace, right?" Ryan says with a smile to representative of Sheriff, motioning with his hands as he talks.

Rather than offer any kind of major verbal argument, Deacon remains casual just leaning up against the wall without a care in the world. "That probably explains why I don't see you around much, non? Hm. How you been anyhow, sha?" Rather, Deacon seems inclined to fill the time with a bit of casual conversation while they wait for the local represenative of the Sherrif's department to make up his mind.

Taking his post against the door, Ryan nods to Deacon, "There's been a lot going on lately. Cults and magic, strange artifacts that need disposed of or researched. Been running around town trying to keep people safe. There's a new werewolf pack running around causing trouble and my books have them as loosely associating with The Temple, so that's kind of a problem. Too few hands and too much to do, I guess." Ryan notes as he gives Deacon a shrug, "Plus I'm trying to get some things together socially, and that's always a balancing act."

"Hrm. Chipped?" Deacon wonders at the information Ryan provides, reaching up enough to actually scratch at his head with mild curiosity and confusion before giving a shrug of lithe shoulders. "Can't say as that entirely surprises, but I suppose I can't complain about not runnin' afoul of them so far either. Good to know, though. Can't say it ain't."

"Always pays to keep the other side informed. There's a balance to these things." Ryan says with a smirk, "We're all under the iron thumb of the Venetians, and when things get a bit too out of hand, The Order has to lean to one of the sides to maintain that Order. I think Jodie's a demolisher, or was last I checked. I'm still digging in on Ronan and some of the other wolves."

Deacon gives a faint nod, making a visible if mental note of the names Ryan mentions.
