Evelynns Nightmare Battle With Declan

(Evelynn's nightmare battle with Ethan)

[Wed Dec 6 2023]

In A Blue Bedroom
This bedroom space has enough floor space to house an adult couple comfortably, and two or three sets of bunks somewhat cozily. The walls are painted slate blue and rathe sparse on decoration, but the finish looks new. A tall plywood closet occupies much of the northern wall.

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

"Hayes," Ethan comments, the man donning both mask and rifle as he stares at the vacant void before himself.

"God damn. My carbine's still with Zheng," Declan complains.

Evelynn looks around, trying to pierce the veil with her eyes and find the enemy but so far she comes up empty. She remains silent so she is not seen first.

"I am alone, you should come out." Evelynn suggest into the void, her tone soft and difficult to hear.

"You first. I'm at a bad disadvantage here," Declan grouses, pulling back the hammer on his rather inadequate revolver.

"It does not work that way." Evelynn replies. No matter as the woman tracks through the nightmare, using her nose and night vision to try and pin down where her prey is.

"in that case, you've lived a long time. You can afford to wait a while longer," Declan cheekily says in response.

"Had the Commander with me, where'd he go?" Declan asks out loud, right before he snaps a shot directly at Evelynn to limited direct effect.

Evelynn pulls back from Declan, not firing back for now. In the nightmare shroud its hard to tell what she is up to, "These fights do not allow assistance for some reason. It's good for me."

"Think you're biased," Declan backs up to find the door, turning the knob to open it right as he pops off another snapshot at Evelynn.

Evelynn briefly flicks a hand in Declan's direction, popping some of the blood vessels in his eyes to blind him, she then moves in, "I am."

Declan continues to retreat, anyways; unwilling to be a stationary bloodbag even as he covers his eyes in pain, his next shot not getting anywhere.

Evelynn keeps on Declan's heels, when she can't stab him with her knife she resorts to shooting at his back with her revolver, though she misses in the commotion

"We're both pretty poor shots here," quips Declan at Evelynn, still looking distinctly uncomfortable with the pain in his orbits but able to line up the irons at Evelynn and not the shadow accompanying.

"We are." Evelynn admits, then she solves that problem by stepping in close to slash with her knife, a move which Declan manages to parry with his own.

Evelynn seems to get to the initative to slash again and so she does.

Declan twists, turning aside blade and shadow with his bayonet, albeit not easily. He's cornered now and knows it - knew it, really, from the start. Doesn't stop him from stabbing back. "You have bigger fish."

Evelynn is relentless, she slashes, then her shadow attacks as well, cornering Declan to work on bringing him down

"My blood tastes kind of crappy," Declan insists to Evelynn, breathing heavily and snapping out a kick at the shadow that does little.

"We'll see sometime." Evelynn tells the dark haired man, she's not trying to be humorous. Just factual.

Declan fades out of the nightmare.

Declan says "Ouch. "
