Miless Ghost Banishing 240314

Amid the eerie atmosphere of Arkwright Cemetery under storm-laden skies, an unexpected encounter unfolds as Miles and his companions, Alexander and Autumn, face off against a trio of malicious pirate ghosts. The specters, an unholy fusion of ballroom elegance and pirate ruthlessness, emerge to the haunting tune of a piano melody, each brandishing their weapons of choice. Miles, initially nonchalant, resorts to hurling salt at the apparitions, a tactic inspired by a recent adventure, while Autumn channels her magical energies in an attempt to quell the spectral assault. In a chaotic exchange, the ghost wielding flintlock pistols manages to pilfer Miles' pockets, an act that provokes not just alarm but a frantic call for assistance as he grapples with the haunting assailants.

The confrontation escalates as Miles finds himself the focal point of the ghosts' wrath, enduring a relentless barrage from their ethereal cutlasses and spectral bullets. Despite his best efforts to dodge and deflect their attacks, a shot from the flintlock ghost sends him crashing to the ground, his pain a testament to the skirmish's intensity. Alexander attempts to intervene with makeshift defenses, urging unity and focus in the face of their spectral foes. Amid this turmoil, Autumn concentrates her magical prowess, intent on banishing the ghosts back to the beyond. In a desperate bid to tilt the scales, Alexander resorts to playing the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, hoping to disrupt or dissuade their incorporeal attackers. As the music swells, the line between the physical and psychic battlefields blurs, underscoring the unpredictable nature of their ghostly confrontation.

On the Sprawling Hillside of Arkwright Cemetery

It is afternoon, about 37F(2C) degrees, and the sky is covered by dark grey stormclouds.

A haunting piano melody suddenly creeps over the graveyard as one by one, three spectral forms raise up into sight. Each is somewhat decayed and dressed in a mix of ballroom gown and old pirate garb, one wields a pair of flintlock pistols, another a wicked cutlass and the third a pair of sharp looking knives.

Alexander says "Hey we got it nevermind"
Alexander says "Not these assholes again"
Alexander exhales sharply.

"Order since I'm helping Alex for this," Autumn tells Miles until she sees the spectral trio. "Not again," she murmurs and turns to take cover behind a tombstone.

"Well, maybe not." Miles answers back to Alexander with a shrug, before pausing at the sound of strange music and stranger yet dancing spectres. He reaches into his jacket, producing a little twist-cap of salt. "Tabs had me throwing salt at things the other night." The man explains, and starts just throwing handfuls of salt towards the figures.

Autumn starts to chant and channel her magic against the ghosts.

The cutlass-wielder attacks Miles, driving him back as the flintlock lady appears behind him, using the distraction to go through his pockets.

Alexander steps forward and snorts. "Miles! Check your pocket mate!" he warns the man as he moves to fend off another swinging spectre. "Aha! Ye scurvy dogs!" he bellows.

"Wah!" There's a sound of surprise from the deputy at the sudden attack, and he raises his rifle to catch the cutlass upon the barrel of it, using it as a makeshift club of sorts. He doesn't even ctach the woman going through his pockets, until she's coming away with a bunch of receipts for 'lonely man microwave dinners'. "Hey, hey! I need those for reinbursement!" Miles barks out in alarm.

Alexander laughs abruptly. "Damn. That's worth more than cash!" he declares.

"Don't just- help me!" Miles blurts out to Alexander as he wrestles with the spectral receipt thieves, trying to stop the cutlass wielding captain from cutting him into cubes.

Alexander cackles. "I'm busy, man!"

Alexander is doing his best to duck some spectral musket fire

The double knife weilder appears suddenly behind Miles, cackling right in his ear before rearing back to stab him in the back.

Miles doesn't even bother asking Autumn for help, simply turning his attention back to the task of pushing the pirate spectre but and away, so he can chase after the flintlock wielding thief. He throws handfuls of salt at her, largely in vain. It's especially useless give that yet another pirate ghost decides to just stab the man in the back. Thank god he's wearing a vest. "Oof!" The force of the blow expells the air from Miles's lungs, and he stumbles this way and that, crashing down onto the grass with a groan. There's going to be bruising from that, for certain.

Alexander dives over towards Miles. He moves protectively behind him and takes the follow up, pulling a hand up, and makes the vines rise up abruptly to snatch the spirit, it's ineffectual but it does force it away

Miles accepts the hand up, grumbling all the while about needing magical bullets to shoot ghosts with. Or at least, he does as much of that as he can while out of breath. "Can you not just expectro your patronum on them?" He wheezes aside to the magic users.

The three spirits surround Miles, attacking and harrying him from all sides.

"I can banish them sure," Alexander explains to Miles. "To the GRAVEYARD!"

"Looks like this time Miles got more attention now," Autumn comments with a glance at Miles getting attacked by the spirits. The runes on her hand bracelet glows red-orange as she holds her left hand out at the ghosts. "I will banish you out of this world and into hell, spirits," she speaks.

It seems that the ghosts really don't seem to like Miles. Probably because he's a cop. ACAB, and all that. He's harried and harassed by the ghosts, doing his best to try and prevent them from taking a chunk out of him. "Oh, c'mon! Go after her!" He blurts out at spectral sailors, gesturing toward Autumn as he tries to lead the party of pirates toward the nearest gravesites.

The flintlock wielder unleashes a stream of spectral bullets, somehow not needing to reload as the group is forces to drop to the ground to avoid getting struck.

Well, at least this time it isn't just Miles being assaulted. "Down!" The deputy yells out in warning, just in case the other two aren't sure what to do when being shot at. There's an awkward sort of dive as he throws himself to take cover behind a grave as black smoke, and bullets fill the air.

"I'm not having them attack me again like earlier!" Autumn snaps at Miles until she hides behind the tombstone. She continues to chant quietly while gesturing her glowing hand.

"Why not? You love being attacked!" Miles chirps back to Autumn as he scrambles through the grass, and behind another, larger gravestone. He pauses to glance at it, warily. Oh, it's just some dead Inigo or something? He continues using it as cover.

Alexander gazes over at Miles. "Shit!" he drops to the ground behind the headstone and groans. "No, this is a pirate crew!"

Alexander says "Spears foes!"
"..What?" Miles calls over at Alexander, in confusion. "Then why're they attacking us?"

Alexander says "Because they're shithead ghosts and we're kicking them out!"
Alexander says "Legion may be more present but these guys are bad news!"
"No I don't!" Autumn seethes, glaring at Miles with narrowed eyes. "Shut up and let me focus my energy to banish these ghosts!"

"I'm confused what you're correcting me about!" Miles calls back, but then abandons it for the time being to scramble out in search of his dropped container of salt, "Salt, salt, salt."

Miles's shoulder suddenly burns as the flicklock wielder materializes long enough to fire a shot into him, there's no visible wound.

"Hah-ah!" Miles cries out in victory as he snatches up his salt, and holds it up as a trophy. The victory is short-lived as one of the ghosts just straight up caps him. "Ugh-ack!" The sound of pain and surprise that escapes the man isn't even a word, he gasps out, collapsing back onto the ground and clutching at his shoulder in agony.

Alexander rushes over to Miles and moves to check him over. "You two! Stop fighting, lord. Miles quit picking fights! This is a psychic fight more than it's physical! Your bad juju is messing it up!" he insists.

With a small smirk, Autumn turns to ignore Miles and chants more as her bracelet's runes pulse with warm magic.

"Ow, ow. Ow." Miles responds back to Alexander, pointedly, as he nurses his injured shoulder.

The three spirits surround Miles, attacking and harrying him from all sides.

Alexander flicks his ring up, and the earth opens, churning vines to protect them both from the spirits. The ghosts tear through it but it's some time at least.

"Ow! Ow! Ow!" The grunting and sounds of pain only grow louder as the pirates decide they aren't quite finished beating Miles up just yet, "Get rid of them, c'mon! I'm doing all the distracting here!"

"Less distractions more mental focus!" Alexander shouts. He exhales and closes his eyes. The music was key, he begins to play with his phone

Autumn closes her eyes as well, sending her magical energy against the ghosts while her chanting grows harsh.

Alexander plays the theme track to pirates of the carribean at full volume
