Solomons Bargaining 240216

(Solomon's bargaining)

[Thu Feb 15 2024]

In Town Hall Northern Meeting Room

It is about 35F(1C) degrees.

"Good morning," Solomon tells representative of The Kingdom of Nar. "I hope you're well."

Alexander nods to the Sarah. "Alexander, a pleasure."

"The Wilds is, without question, a place worth exploring," Solomon tells representative of The Kingdom of Nar smoothly. "And those I represent can provide some magical power to you, in aid of your conflict with the Illarin Empire. You think that the other worlds are so distant," he says, apparently having stepped out of some ritual. "But they are not, of course -- they are close at hand, and as the count ticks down towards the end of time we will all need to make what alliances we can." He glances at Alexander and Sarah. "Miss Wilson and Mr. Murphy will tell you about the mortal benefits their organization offers, but this tis a time for immortal concerns: when the tide comes," he says. "It will wash away all of us."

Alexander nods to the representative. "While Solomon speaks a pretty word, he represents a force that seeks not cooperation, but exploitation. Consider this, The Order is an ally who seeks to encourage growth and development. We are not strangers to conflict, we bare our fangs as needed." He nods. "We can provide ample resources to aid in the fight, why, I alone have access to numerous resources by myself. Consider then, what the rest of the order may bring to bare." He smiles warmly. "Solomon a pleasure."

Sarah walks in looking a little haggard, even compared to her usual, her lab coat wrinkled, her eyes tired. She rubs at her neck, then gives Solomon a small nod before walking up to representative of The Kingdom of Nar. "I'll put it simple..." She pauses, glancing at Alexander, returning the nod before continuing, "Opposed to anything abstract or unlikely, opposed to promises for the end of the world, we offer you what you need to craft your own future. To find whatever flavor of power you prefer for your survival, when and if you need it. To last until then..." She sighs, then puts a folder onto the table. "...Trade. We can supply resources from the other worlds, these in turn can give you a unique position economically. Use it well, and you will have all the money you need."

"Under Miss Wilson's presidency," Solomon comments to the air, "The Hand has gone from an edifice of those seeking power to retail bankers offering some sort import-export business in a dodgy strip mall." He offers Sarah a smile. "But of course if that's your interest," he tells representative of The Kingdom of Nar. "Regardless, it's at least concrete -- not like the vacuous promises of the Order."

Alexander laughs, amusedly "The worlds end is a long way off. It will be dealt with, this is not the chief concern of your Kingdom. Your concern is your kingdom, and there are much more immediate threats. Those are the ones we are offering our assistence with."

Sarah raises an eyebrow at Solomon, "I really don't need to learn that from someone peddling magic as if it were a circus." Sarah returns with a smirk, "Money is power. Trade is money - as such, trade is power. All greatness starts with one thing..." She puts a finger onto the table. "...Power. Whatever magic Mr. Inigo can offer you, you can also purchase it. I can assure you that. The beauty of money however, is that if the Illarin Empire pushes at your defenses tomorrow, you can instead use money to hire swords and bows. Magical power tends to be..." She glances aside to Solomon, "...A lot less direct. And harder to convert." She then sighs as she looks at Alexander, "Of course you could also make friends with the charity organization."

"The world is a long way off," Solomon snorts. "Said by a child who cannot grow a beard. Thirteen years it the blink of an eye, boy," he tells Alexander.

Alexander says "It's called shaving, Solomon."
Alexander says "Not all of us are so bold as to wear blood red robes AND the devil goatee like a walking billboard of nefarious intent."
Sarah waves a hand around, "The 'worlds end' so to speak will be handled. Not a single major organization isn't looking into it." Sarah claims before snorting at Alexander's comment. "It is a very nice robe, I would opine."

"I can try a threatening laugh for you too, Mr. Murphy," Solomon tells Alexander. He chuckles to Sarah.

Alexander smiles warmly and bows his head. "Regardless of which way you go, know The Order will remain open to diplomatic endeavors and assistance as needed." He grins at Sarah. "Of course, though I wish the question of how it was dyed was less alarming."
