Battle With It 240302

Amidst the eerie and occult-laden interior of a pawn shop, a fierce battle unfolds against a formidable and otherworldly beast. Harriet, Solomon, Meridith, and their allies are engaged in a desperate struggle for survival. As the creature twists and flails in an attempt to escape the relentless assault, Meridith, showing incredible bravery and resolve, lands a significant blow with her arrow. The group's coordination is initially hampered by a mysterious 'nightmare' that prevents some of their companions from joining the fight promptly. Despite this setback, they adapt quickly, focusing their efforts on the beast with a mix of firearms, magical attacks, and Meridith's archery skills. As the fight intensifies, Solomon displays his mastery of the arcane by summoning fire, while Harriet continues to take calculated shots with her rifle, and Autumn and a fiery, winged salamander provide additional firepower.

As the battle nears its climax, the creature, now heavily wounded and displaying multiple faces - including a sorrowful replication of Meridith's - becomes increasingly desperate. Solomon suggests that a sword might be the key to finally defeating 'Mr. Goop,' as Harriet has dubbed their adversary. Solomon steps forward with his sword, ready to deliver the finishing blow. As the group tightens their encirclement, an unexpected twist occurs - the beast reveals it has a companion. However, Solomon wisely advises his teammates to keep their focus on their primary target. Viktorin and Caelum, having been briefly disoriented, finally catch up to the main group, anxious and ready to assist. The story concludes with Harriet, steadying her aim once more, embodying the determination and resilience of the group as they stand united against the darkness, signaling an imminent and decisive victory.

In Collateral Damage - Victorious Secret
Set off from the social and scholarly area of this hidden back room, this end of the building seems to serve as the smaller, occult half of the pawn shop's business. It has some of the same glass display cases, but the shelves here are dark, cherry stained hardwood that would match the floor were it not covered with a deep blue area rug, and rich, purplish velvet lines the interiors of the cases. It's mostly smaller items back here, and while there's jewellery for sale out front, the pieces that make it to these cases were very likely used for more than just accessorising. Some weapons are mounted over the back wall behind the sales counter, usually a mix of bladed weapons and decidedly less-legal firearms than the ones out front, though there's nothing wholly outrageous; for that, there's the goblin market.

The social area and its trophies lies off to the south; everywhere else it's just wooden walls keeping this place hidden from the world outside.

It is about 50F(10C) degrees.

Meridith says "It's on us!"
Meridith says "We're fighting it"
Harriet calls to Meridith, "You don't want it close to you!"

Meridith says "R-right! "
Solomon says "Caelum, north through the nightmare."
Solomon says "Where are our companions?"
Harriet says "North through the nightmare, Vik."
Solomon says "Caelum, north through the nightmare."
Meridith says "They may not hear you...I don't know if Harriet heard me when I called for help when it attacked me..."
Meridith holds her ground, keeping steady aim on the beast.

Solomon says "The nightmare is too dense. We moved too fast for them to help."
Meridith says "It is fine, we can handle this prey..."
Meridith murmurs, sinking an arrow into the beasts hideous leg.

Solomon says "I believe we have the thing, yes."
Harriet admits, "I've never had it where people could not follow me through that wall," to Solomon as she raises her rifle and fires at It.

It does it's best to escape, twisting and flailing as the many people fire and blast at it.

Solomon says "Next time, I suppose, we all wait to be in the nightmare and then move."
Harriet nods to Solomon, "Typically, you all get pulled into it if the person you are following steps through. It's very strange that it did not work this time."

Solomon says "I was surprised by that. But the nightmare is always strange."
Viktorin says "How're yoscan"
Viktorin says "How're you guys, rather?"
Harriet says "We're doing all right."
"You are not going anywhere!" Autumn fires an arrow at It while A glowing salamander with fiery wings shoots small fireballs at it.

Meridith effortlessly evade the arrow and scowls. "You won't haunt me further, BEAST!" She cries, charging forth.

Viktorin says "Where're you guys now?"
Harriet says "Still in the same spot."
Solomon chants, low, with power as he summons fire from his hands.

Viktorin says "Well, I just went north of the room, can't see anyone."
Caelum says "Me neither."
It gurgles and cries out, apparently having forgotten to prepare itself for a fight such as this. It's many heads scream and writhe, too many hands and fingers clutching at it's body and waving in the air. One face in particular, that of Meridith, with her left eye gleaming in it's socket, weeps.

Caelum says "Dressing room"
Viktorin says "It's in the dressing room?"
Caelum says "North from the dressing room."
Solomon says "It is nearly done."
Viktorin says "North of the dressing room, correct?"
Harriet says "Correct. "
Meridith says "It brought a friend!"
Solomon says "Ignore the friend."
Harriet nods to Solomon, "We must take out Mister Goop," as she points her rifle at It. "He might only be able to be finished by a sword, though. Does anyone have one of those by chance?"

Autumn says "Ifrit, keep shooting at flesh amalgation."
Solomon says "I have my sword."
Caelum says "I don't understand."
Harriet gives a nod to Solomon, and she's taking aim at It again.

Viktorin says "Ugh. Let's hope we get there in time. And neither do I. I wish they waited for us before leaping in. Or like counted down or something."
Harriet scowls as her bullet strikes the wrong flesh, and she refocuses.

Caelum says "There is nowhere to go.."
