Which Word Was Goat Sr Deacon

In the verdant expanse of Conguillio National Park, nestled in the Andes mountains, a group composed of Yasmin, Autumn, Tomas, and Angelique, embark on a daunting taskā€”to capture the legendary chupacabra without killing it. As they discuss the presence of the elusive creature, Yasmin suggests using a goat as bait, while Autumn concurs with the idea of setting a trap. Tomas doubts the feasibility of trapping such a wily creature like the chupacabra, akin to Bigfoot's elusiveness. Meanwhile, Angelique whimsically considers luring the creature by imitating goat sounds.

Their guide, a silent and smug-looking scout, watches the group's deliberations, as they decide on a strategy to corner the chupacabra. While Autumn dismisses her ability to mimic a goat, Tomas bluntly rejects any such performance on his part. Instead, he proposes that the team initiates a chase, planning for Yasmin, with her exceptional speed, to outpace the creature while the others assist with ranged attacks.

The creature makes a harrowing leap from the treetops, evading their initial chase and making a sprint for the water. Yasmin, with her remarkable agility, dashes toward the chupacabra, intending to cut off its path. Dangerously, the creature spits out a caustic green substance, but Yasmin nimbly avoids it. Shots from Tomas and Autumn's bows find their mark, and Angelique, though not the best archer, manages to contribute. The spiny quills along its back warn the pursuers to exercise caution.

Yasmin, wielding a knife ignited with flames, successfully lands a critical hit on the chupacabra's tendons. The wounded creature lets out haunting cries. The guide, having momentarily vanished, reappears with assistance and tools for when the creature is subdued. Autumn, finding resourceful means to bind the creature with vines, does so to forestall a blind and vicious backlash. Tomas, with a chilling nonchalance, blinds the creature to inhibit its attempts at escape.

As the gruesome scene unfolds, Yasmin earnestly looks away, while Autumn binds, and Angelique observes, sardonically untouched by the violence. The guide and his companions prepare to take the creature away, emphasizing a use for every part of the unfortunate chupacabra, aligning with the notion of respecting the entirety of the creature, even in capture.

In the end, the team succeeds in their grueling quest, capturing the chupacabra and securing its heart without killing it, despite the unsettling moral undertones of their victory. The scout facilitates their departure, offering to transport the participants to their next destinations as they finish up.

In The Andes: Conguillio National Park
In the south of Chile, this park lies deep within the heart of the Andes mountains, and is one of the country's most popular parks, home to the Sierra Nevada and the Llaima Volcanoes. The expanse of the park is filled with lush vegetation, including rare and unique Araucarias trees that can be found nowhere else. Cutting through the green expanse of forest is a broad river delta, and the snow-capped peaks of the volcanoes off on the horizon.

It is afternoon, about 78F(25C) degrees,

Back?

A not-stealthy guy and a city girl and a person from Hell. This may be doomed if stealth is at all required, though Yasmin has no problems remaining small and silent for the most part. "It is gone," she whispers in case any of the others didn't catch that. "Can we lay out a trap?" she asks next. "It likes goats, yes? We get a goat." Solid plan. Just find a goat and herd it and lure the thing to it, easy. There has to be one or two around here.

Well, stealth may not be required but action will be! There's no sense that the creature came down from the top of the tree and the distance between them and the base of it isn't truly that far away. It's likely that amongst them all if it had scampered all the way down and run off altogether they would have seen it from here. Autumn finds some surprise but then she's not as familiar with Earth's traditions or supersitions and doesn't know how strange and also familiar this creature may look to many. Tomas and Angelique both make comment and the rustling of the tree comes. Something certainly still in that top-bush of foliage that looks almost man-made but isn't at the top of the trees.

"Trap would be good," Autumn nods her head towards Yasmin. "One that chupacabra will not escape from." Strapping her bow back to her back, she takes a look around and says, "Goats live in mountains, right?"

"I feel like enough people have tried to trap these for us to assume that's not gonna work," Tomas grunts. "Sorta like Bigfoot. He's fuckin' wily." Still, it's not as if he's got a better idea than he's offered up, and he shrugs his shoulders at the guide. If people wanted to bait the thing out with a goat, then he could try and catch a damn goat, if he's pointed in the right direction.

After her one little piece of advice, Angelique seems to have completely lost her verve. She listens to the others, then states, "If it is still up there, one could climb up into the tree and... knock it down?" But as far as ideas go, that seems to be the only one that she has, for now. "Goats sound like a good plan. Oh!" she suddenly chirps, though frankly given the wicked gleam in her eye, it might be a terrible idea. "Can anyone make a realistic goat -sound-?" Yep.

If this is a tack they wish to try, the scout can help guide them to trails further into the forest. It may waste time, but there's got to be a reason the thing is called a Goat sucker, after all. Still that might also take time. who knows how long they'll be out there in the woods that way? It didn't work in Jurrassic Park. Might not work here! BUT - Angelique may have a more expedient plan, if anyone can muster up a realistic enough sound. And Tomas' words ring fairly true. A trap might not be the best way to deal with it, but rustling it out of the tree is probably sound advice as well. The Scout seems amused at their antics thus far, or maybe it's their lack of action. Smug is a word that could define the silent little man, for the time being.

Yasmin looks like she's debating the pros and cons of this idea. Pros: goats seem like they'll work. Cons: wild goats are a pain in the ass. She pauses upon hearing Angelique's last question though, brightening up a little bit, and her eyes coming to rest upon Tomas. He seems like a goat sound kinda guy out of the gathered group... right?

"I doubt I can speak goat," Autumn shakes her head towards Angelique. "Only native Wildling and some English. But if chupacabra is running up through trees, maybe we can cripple it enough to get heart."

"I will rip the tree out of the bare fuckin' earth before you get me to do a goat impression," Tomas threatens, his eyes narrowing at Yasmin from behind those circular black shades of his. "Actually, yeah, fuck the goat. Let's just chase the fucker down. Here's what we'll do, assumin' the wildlin's got a talent for shootin' or for throwin'. We're all gonna run towards the tree as a group, right? Keeping pace, let the thing gauge our speed, and then when it breaks for it, Yasmin's gonna do her Usain Bolt impression and overtake the fucker. We'll catch up from behind, ideally nailing it with the bows, but if we get in close I guarantee I can fuck him up with my sword." The lizard-thing didn't look so threatening, and Tomas had supreme self-confidence in his capacity for well-performed violence.

"Oh." She's distinctly disappointed when Yasmin's look does not get the desired effect from Tomas, but Angelique can't fault her brother's logic, even if he won't bray at a monster in a tree for them. She nods. "Si. A run. A not-too-fast run," she requests of the group at hand, for reasons that might well be obvious. She is -not- Usain Bolt. The bow in her hand is kept in her hand, but she's not yet even gone so far as to pull the string taut. Her tone lowers to a mere whisper, just in case the creature can understand: "We must just make sure not to hit the heart, or any part that will kill it before we can get the heart. It is a good plan, si."

I guess that's what Yasmin gets for trying to make Tomas bleat: being appointed the chupacabra-wrangler. There is no justice in the world. She looks like she likes this idea less than the last one, but there won't be any arguments from her. "As long as nobody shoots me," she says finally. "And assuming it is not /too/ fast." Yasmin' got some limits too. "And assuming it is not too strong...?" It'll be embarrassing if she goes for it and then gets trampled and dies. Hopefully that won't be the case.

Angelique offers cheerfully, "It cannot be so strong or it would hunt prey more scary than a goat."

"I can also heat up metal with fire magic," Autumn says, gesturing towards her panja bracelet then to the blade of her khopesh. "But yes, that sounds like good plan."

Yasmin says, not too convinced, "Maybe it just likes the taste of goat..."
A plan in place - does the group proceed?

"Okay," Tomas grunts, returning his arrow to its quiver before he rolls his shoulders, bow still in hand. "Let's catch ourself a fuckin' chupacabra, huh?" He claps the guide on the back as he takes off at a decent run - not a sprint, but hardly a stroll, either. Angelique will have to put her legs into it if she wants to stick to the plan and keep up.

The group makes their charge, and their gambit begins. As the main focus of them begin to charge toward the Araucarias tree that they prey seems to be hiding in, first glance seems that they might all be about to look a fool as they charge into the underbrush of the forest and toward that tree. Nothing .... and then there IS movement. Whether or not the creature can comprehend speech (or English this deep in the native jungle forests of Chile) it seems to be making a play as expected by their actions! Almost leaping like a frog from the top of the tree, the Chupacabra will hit the ground running with nary even a tumble as it hits the forest floor. It's not for the deeper woods but toward the water the thing will charge toward. When the group turns - that mountain guide scout is nowhere to be seen or found.

Put her legs to it she does. Already tired from the long trek out here and clearly not in top physical form, Angelique is panting as she presses her body to keep up with... well. The rear of the pack is fine. But then she sees that creature fling itself outward. Even with her poor vision, she can tell that it's on the run. She squeaks out a sound of surprise, fumbling for an arrow though she can clearly not run and aim it at the same time.

Upon noticing the scout's absence, Autumn wonders while she and the group chase the chupacabra, "Did guide ran off?" Pulling out her bow once more, she grabs an arrow and draws, ready to file when signaled.

If she's going to be getting all up close and personal with the chupacabra, Yasmin decides her bow isn't so much needed after all, slinging it back over her back and instead grabbing her knife out of its sheathe, grip secure in the palm of her hand. She's not sticking close to Angelique this time - sorry Angel - the woman easily keeping pace with Tomas when he charges.

There's no pause nor hesitation when the creature jumps out from the top of the tree, even if Yasmin's eyes widen the teeniest bit - it's not every day one comes across a weird reptilian goat sucker. It's not hard to tell what direction it's moving towards though, even if it wasn't the anticipated one. There's a muttered curse beneath Yasmin's breath in a different, harsh language, and then she stops keeping up with Tomas, a burst of speed to cut off the Chupacabra's path before it can reach the water, knife at the ready, to be aimed at the creature's legs if she can catch up in time. It disappearing in the water certainly won't lead to anything good.

// Angelique may need a repost, so sorry.

Oh, that tiny little native is long gone and Autumn's words only make that more evident to those abound. But then Yasmin is taking off like it's the Michael Owens show and she's got one good Gold Medal left in her! Off she goes toward the route that will best cut off the creatures escape to the waters. Based on its appearance it might just be looking to dive beneath the surface of that broad expanse and then the group will definitely have no chance. But the small woman in her own right has this thing beat for raw speed, only the leaping head start givin it an advantage. As she turns closer the thing will suddenly turn its head and SPIT something green and nasty toward Yasmin. She'll dodge deftly as her fleet feet all but dance across the ground. The Chupacabra will have to redirect its escape attempt while Tomas, Angelique and Autumn will now have the chance to take pace and fire some shots off toward this thing in hopes at the very least to distract it! Where that gree globule lands? The smell of acrid .. something, as it eats through whatever foliage, plant-life or grass it happens to land in within moments.

"Mierda," Angelique hisses. She stops running for a moment, putting her arrow to the bow and shooting. She's not aiming for the beast, precisely. She knows enough not to shoot for where a fleeing target is, but instead where she predicts they may be. Still, she's not the best shot in the world. She's not a good shot at all, but the arrow shouldn't hit Yasmin, at least. "We kill the little man when this is done?" she asks, her jaw tight as she sees what might've happened to their companion.

Tomas would appear to be a pretty damn good shot - but there's only so much even a practiced archer can do to mitigate the rigours of trying to shoot while at a sprint, particularly at range, and at full draw. "Cut the tendons in its feet!" he calls out to Yasmin, then sends an arrow whistling over her shoulder, the broad-headed tip eager to sink into some goat-sucker flesh... or a nice stretch of dirt, maybe.

"That is one feisty creature," Autumn mutters, aiming her arrow towards the chupacabra as she runs. With a nod of her head, she targets the creature's feet and fires her bow in an attempt to strike at one of them.

Even if she knew enough to sidestep out of the way of suspicious green goo like anyone with a brain should know to, there's still a hiss that escapes Yasmin at the thought of what could have been, a wariness settling into her movements now. Not enough to think too hard about it though - she's already trying to hamstring the creature if she can get close enough, knife palmed, and if it wants to throw acid, she's going to fight back with fire. There's a lick of flame at the metal of her blade, burning hot and red when she lashes out at the chupacabra's knees(?), where she assumes the hamstrings would be. Hopefully it's not got tendons in too wild places.

Revealing an ability forthwith unknown to the group, the Chupacabra is shifting toward a run up the riverbank perhaps it can gain enough of a stretch to outpace Yasmin in the long run, but it's running on animal instinct. Autumn's shot comes whizzing toward the creature, slipping just shy of the things shoulders with that crouched, hunched posture. Tomas find more of a purchase, the best shot of the bunch into the limb of the creature which causes a shrieking howl that sounds otherworldly. It also sounds dangerously like a cry for help, cut short only as the creature has to cut back toward Yasmin now as a wide shot from Angelique has the good fortune of landing fortuitously as the reptillian beast changes course yet again. In time for the small Arabic woman to find a chance to fling hot metal in the direction of of the thing as she closes the distance. That sizzle smells like success and once again that shrieking sound that pierces the ears. They have the thing well and cornered now, though.

The arrows striking at the creature give Yasmin enough of a chance to well and truly catch up with the Chupacabra enough to immobilize it with a slash of flaming knife against muscle and tendon, and she's well and truly spent after that, the burst of energy evaporating and leaving her breathless and exhausted. She palms her knife again - if nothing else, she'll at least have that in hand, the metal slowly cooling down, and even though the Chupacabra still needs dealing with and having its heart extracted, she's mostly out of the fight for now, just trying to catch her breath. The others can surely handle the rest. "I don't like that noise," she tells them between heavy pants.

Autumn has heard sounds like that before. Maybe not that exact one but ... the calls and screams that fill the night perpetually in her homeland are close enough.

"It is in agony," Autumn tells Yasmin, firing another arrow at one of the Chupacabra's limbs before she charges towards it. "We must cut its heart out quickly."

It takes a second for Tomas to catch up - he can run fast enough, but not like an angelborn, and while trying to use a bow. So, ultimately, he doesn't: he chases after his protege and his prey, drawing his falcata from his belt as he slings the bow back over a shoulder. "Reptiles don't feel pain," he asserts, either not knowing what he's talking about, or not caring. He glances out of the side of his glasses at Autumn - was she really from Hell? Still, he advances onwards, blade out, and makes no attempt to disguise his hostile intent. Even to an animal's eyes - this is a man who is coming to hurt or coming to kill.

It's not going to bleed out - from the slashes of Yasmin's knife, at least. The sizzling of flesh ensured as much when her fire-touched blade cut the hamstring tendons of the Chupacabra. Still, she's not going to argue with Autumn - probably better to get it over with sooner than later, before it dredges up another glob of acid-venom to spit at them. She remains hunched-over still though, hands on her knees, slowly catching her breath.

Clearly feeling no sympathy for the beast, Angelique presses her hands to her ears with a muttered, "Mierda." The sound seems to be really setting her off, and when she moves toward the group it's with a displeased sort of stomp. Tomas's intent is not going to be inhibited by her, she seems rather content to watch him cut the thing that's caused them so much trouble apart. Upon reaching Yasmin, she stops to ask, "You are okay?" It's probably not the most genuine of concern, given her nature and her bloodlines, but a social nicety at least, one well trained into her. Barely waiting for an answer, she turns her focus back to the thing on the ground and the other two approaching it.

Secondary shots from those toward the back of the back come zipping in and with less haste or stress on those who aim it makes it easier for Autumn and Angelique to help herd the creature with shots now as Tomas is charging in to close the distance and assist Yasmin with the up-close and personal aspect of wearing this creature down. When he gets in close, it's almost sixth-sense that tells him to be cautious, and it's the same for Yasmin. Those spiney like quills along the length of its back and tail gleam and glisten with some kind of natural oil or substance in the right light. Shifting and dodging will take time, but once the bully of the group gets in range the rest is only a matter of time for the Chupacabra. Now they need to bind it .. without killing it entire. Enclosing around it as the group cuts off that distance only brings out more of the cornered animal instcint. Large, glittery black eyes regard them all intelligently with panic and fear. Even for something not entirely sentient there is enough for the suffering of this creature to appease the needs of those who yearn for it.

Yasmin is not okay, she's got a stitch in her side. That's better than the Chupacabra, who probably needs many stitches, so she could certainly be worse. She nods her head at Angelique as she straightens with a wince, a little, "Yeah," escaping her. She stays back anyway, cautious, and maybe a little squicked out by the prospect of having to cut a still-breathing heart out of a living creature's chest, even if that was the condition from the start. Doesn't mean she doesn't get to feel a little bad for it anyway, a frown upon her lips.

Glancing around for something, Autumn stops running when she looks back to the chupacabra and notices the quills. She takes a step back and starts wielding her khopesh. "Anyone has rope?" she wonders.

This spirit doesn't remember anyone bringing rope or referring ot it. Luckily for Autumn, that kopesh and other blades can make some vines and other striplings from the forest into some bindings pretty ship-shape!

If there were any doubts as to Tomas's demonic heritage, he may well lay them to rest with his brutal treatment of what is, most likely, an innocent creature: he hacks his falcata at the thing's hands and feet, seeking to cripple it beyond escape, even as he flinches away from those bared quills. "Nasty fuckin' thing," he mutters. He stares at those fearful, intelligent eyes, then grimaces with the knowledge of how badly he's about to indulge himself. "Yasmin," he calls over his shoulder. "Look away for a second." Anyone else is free to follow or heed that advice as Tomas shudders a little bit and blinds the creature with the point of his blade.

Yasmin doesn't need to be told twice. She turns around and then walks a few steps away just for good measure, as though that few extra feet will make the noises any less. The shrieking of the chupacabra, and what's to come when Tomas goes through with this entire endeavor. At least she can keep a watch on the treeline. The trees really do be lookin mighty green today.

Angelique smirks as Yasmin turns away. The amusement at someone choosing a more sensitive path lingers only a moment, as that high grows headier with the creature's suffering. She casually walks up to where Tomas stands, though she does keep a wary distance from the creature's mouth, even as he begins to incapacitate it, one limb at a time. "So mean, mi hermano," she says in a tone that is anything but scolding.

After glancing around, Autumn smirks upon finding some vine and proceeds to cut and grab some with her blade. She then runs towards the chupacabra with a smile and attempts to bind the creature's limbs using the vines. "It will go wild and lash out with no eyes."

Could that shudder be disgust? Or perhaps it's a pleasure so intense it borders on sexual as it crawls its way down Tomas' spine as the point of his blade slips into the gel of the creatures large, glittery eyes. A shame as well, for they're probably the prettiest thing about the creature. Yasmin turns her heads to avoid the sight of what comes. Angelique, so blasephemous to the nickname she makes ironic use of. The creature's screams turn from haunting to howling as the pain comes. Soon enough it will be time to take the prize they need .. and it's only then that the small brown-skinned seems to return as if from within the trees itself! And Autumn speaks wise words, as they may prevent Tomas from taking its other eye before she can make sure the creature is bound with what can be found once it's been crippled beyond truly dangerous measure. That guide brings friends now, a group of three including him. They carry muslin cloth, tools ... and enough to carry what seems like all of the creature away in parts when the group is done. Waste nothing, want for nothing.
