An earthquake struck Haven at midnight, the ground rumbling and cracks opening in the Earth. Buildings all across Haven have sustained some damage, with debris cluttering the streets and impeding business. Aftershocks strike Haven without warning, and government broadcasts are warning citizens to be careful and remain indoors for safety. The shorelines are especially dangerous, with unpredictable swells of waves threatening to wash away beachgoers. The earthquake came as a surprise to locals and to the media, the strongest to strike New England in recent memory. Official reports claim that it matches with historical records, citing studies that indicate that a major earthquake strikes the region once every thousand years. The damage is much less severe, outside of Haven, but tremors were felt throughout the area.

Recent reports in the aftermath of the earthquake seem to show that water
levels around New England have risen rapidly. It's even been shown on
broadcasts that streets have been flooding, primarily along the Haven coat
line. Flood warning for the small town have been issued.
It seems that scientists are confused with the sudden flux
in the water lines and the flash flooding that seems to be happening, mostly
centralized to Haven. Having a hard time explaining it they've defaulted to
blaming the recent earthquakes.

The flood caused by the use of Gate magic and the earthquake that
accompanied it caused severe damage to the infrastructure of the town of
Haven at large. Many tunnels have collapsed and old faction sub-basements
were all lost in the process. The higher command groups of the TAU, Tower,
and Disciples have began moving new construction staff in to accomodate the
neccessary changes that must be made. Several of the old basements and
tunnels built by the factions at large are flooded, and now permanent
additions to Haven's underground.
[OOC:] Coded changes and new build projects have been started to represent
this, and to also help push the idea that sometimes your schemes and Gate
Magic can have lasting changes on Haven at large.

Zoning regulations for building inside of town has been tightened.
Commercial Badlands: Two floors above ground. Downtown: No basements. One floor. Beachfront: Three floors above ground. Waterfront: One dry basement. Two floors above ground. Red Light District: One dry basement. One ground floor. Westhaven: One floor.
Properties may have basements lower than indicated, but they will be flooded at all times. The first flooded level is shallow. The second is deep.
