Power in Haven
As the severe winter weather's damage piled increasing stress upon the town's infrastructure, it was only bound to be a matter of time before power lines collapse, generators fail, and house wiring shorts out. Not surprisingly, everything went black during the early morning, Haven's power grid completely overtaxed.
Food in Haven
The fimbulwinter has been devastating for the global economy, particularly related to agriculture, where unseasonably cold temperatures around the globe have ruined crops. Food shortages have caused skyrocketing prices and trucking food into Haven has become harder with the prolonged blizzard.
But recently there has been a group going around door to door giving out food to Haven residents who are sheltering in their homes. These food items are simple, breads, rice, vegetables, even a bit of meat, some of it fresh, much of it pickled or jarred. Oddly enough no can foods or processed foods.
Supernatural State of Affairs
Reports are filtering in from all directions with both fact and gossiped fictions or presumptions among supernaturals and the aware. The End Times come, and the forces are overwhelming, but the opposition is gaining uncanny ground in these Final Hours. It is hard to parse out exactly how much is true, given how fired up people are over the news, but the Houses unaligned and unallied with the Nordic Pantheon houses are kicking in aid with the recent reports hitting, even though they tend to have the most who bent the knee, statistically. Whatever happened, it is a final nail in the public preparing arc of battle and war from Nathalie Eriksson and her collective loyalists and forces are mobilizing worldwide over many countries and continents.
Here is what is known as fact from a few different fences, gossip aside.
Nathalie Eriksson bled herself into a forced volva state of near-death and froze herself in a secluded forest with a guardian spirit. This was done to seek out the aid and wisdom of Heimdallr, the only one of the Gods not put into stasis sleep by Sarkur. The rest of the Realms and their rulers are also confirmed asleep, by and large, but powerful allies of age and supernatural history still exist to call on. Who these beings are, though, is unconfirmed. Speculation flies.
The Sarkur Agent Francesca Agnello is dead. She was reportedly killed after she attempted an ambush in Lapland on the Scions soon after the Matriarch awoke, two days later.
Ewan Hollow is alive and active. That is the only real confirmation given in regards to that name, but wild rumors try to place him on one side, or the other. However, most supernaturally educated and entrenched beings expect through reputation that the man is loyal to no one but himself and the demon that he is bound to, by principle. It is maintained he is currently a Wildcard, for better or worse.
In what some are now calling The Red Wedding with pop culture reference, the Ketch and Nathalie were sealed by Sarkur in union as man and wife and named King and Queen of the Golden City. Sarkur departed hastily afterwards to go protect a siege centered on an important part of his plan. Raphael Abdiel is thought to be involved, but details are no clearer than that at the current time. What is apparent, though, is the number splintered off Venetian that came with his re-emergence to aid the Resistance.
Desmond King is dead, killed by the Ketch as a Voodoo ritual of blood completed to disable him for attack. His gang seems to be working with the Resistance in his name.
Memnoch was also present during the Wedding ambush, arriving with the Valkyrie and Desmond King to merge with the group attending. There is little more on that subject. People do not seem to like that name in their mouth so much for gossip.
The Sarkur Agent Petenka, daughter of Ketch, is also dead, ambushed at the wedding of her father by Eir Valkyrie. while trying to prove herself in vain for his affections. The rest of the participants were also part of the fight, taking out reinforcements of the Ketch's to set clear ground for the execution of his daughter... and then subsequently him as well. For True Fae, though, the word "dead" is currently a very controversial term.
There are darker tidings too, however. Dragons are starting to circle over Finland as a whole and the numbers are disconcerting. The forces of non-Sarkurites have taken a huge arc with extensive planning and forceful execution of missions, but... at the end of the day, Sarkur is Sarkur. He is Dreki. And he has the Eye.
The drums of war beat stronger, faster, like a primal symphony of the Last Days.
