Metamorphosis is an organization that believes in second chances, both for the environment and for people. It is our belief that only in combining these two worlds can we create one that is better for everyone. Our commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability is at the heart of our initiative; but we are much more than that. We believe in pragmatic, realistic, long-term solutions that both give to the community and get them involved, equipping them with the tools and understanding to help the world they inhabit. Since 2005 we are proud to have created over 6,000 jobs around our 74 recycling factories in 50 states, many of these given to those whose circumstance has made it more pivotal for them than most to find opportunity. We work closely with parole, probation, recovery and rehabilitation services across the United States, employing marginalised individuals with the support, supervision and shelter they need to start a new life – often one better than the one they were leading before. Alongside social workers, waste disposal experts, environmental academics and even break-through new artists from our Art From Waste project, they are able not only to turn their lives around but to find greater purpose and meaning in the world around them doing so. 20% of the profits our recycling factories earn annually are donated to environmental causes, and an estimated 65% of the lives we help either choose to become lifelong volunteers in our company or venture forth into environmental fields. |
