in reply to: Fabled – Is the topic socially shareable? #25290
Fabled are an IC concept that people know about, I do think it’s usually better writing to not overuse the term though. I think probably the bigger issue is more the knowing specifically how a monster is going to interact with them since that’s a lot fuzzier. There’s no real specific lore reason why monsters want fabled, that’s more OOC. So it would be a lot more appropriate to RP about how you think maybe offering the monster Bob as a sacrifice might make it go away instead of being like well Bob is a fabled and one of two ways to get rid of monsters is giving them a fabled etc.
in reply to: Is Story Death dead? #25271Resurrection is unreliable, gets more expensive each time, and the death is still often traumatic and leaves lasting damage on someone’s mind/memories etc. So I’d say if people were RPing that the risk of death doesn’t matter they are being fairly silly.
It is both bad to RP that someone cannot die in situations where IC death seems reasonable but is codedly impossible, and bad to try to force someone to be dead outside of the mechanics of the game that govern death.
This is also true in other forms of story telling where you may not be able to actually kill off the main character without tanking your tv show but still want a story where they seem in peril.
I’m not sure I entirely understand the question but that’s my best effort to respond to it.
in reply to: Monster Morality & Evil #25261Monsters damaging a borough represents the negative impacts on the local area of there being a monster running around in it.
I would say a monster RPing that they’re doing absolutely nothing negative would be very inappropriate for that reason, also even if that code wasn’t there that would be super shitty RP.
It should always be morally good to kill a monster or otherwise drive it off, beyond that it’s pretty flexible how people want to RP them.
in reply to: Invitation and you #25251You can RP that the principle of invitation is something you know about ICly.
Obviously, those actual examples would be terrible RP like any other sort of super literal RPing about mechanics.
in reply to: T2s and Minions #25250No minion power is capped by Tier. A reminder that anything which makes you more powerful, like just making your minion do more damage, is going to be capped by Tier because that’s what tier is for. If you find a thing that makes you stronger that isn’t capped by Tier it probably will be in the future.
in reply to: Bloodline Artifacts #25249Stats won’t be elligible if the benefit of the stat transcends the period you have it in. Like if someone has a bloodline artifact for sorcery then that’s a lot worse than actually having sorcery since you only can use it in fights every few days etc, if you had a bloodline artifact for fleshforming that’s basically exactly as useful as having the stat since you only use fleshforming every now and again and then the person stays fleshformed afterwards.
in reply to: Auto-Mod Overzealous Example #25248You can’t do anything to get a post restored, I’m sure at some point I’ll work on improving the bot but it isn’t a high priority right now.
Here are the instructions it’s following if that’s helpful:1. **Alt-Outing / Doxxing:** Do not reveal or speculate on a person’s real-life identity or their alternate in-game characters.
2. **Slurs:** Do not use derogatory slurs related to race, gender, sexuality, or any other group.
3. **Name Calling / Personal Attacks:** Do not directly insult or attack another user. Focus on the argument, not the person.
4. **Agree/Disagree Posts:** Do not make posts that are nothing more than agreeing or disagreeing with someone else, such as just “I agree”, “+1”, “this”, or “I disagree”.
5. **Sub-tweeting:** Do not make vague, passive-aggressive attacks. If a complaint is clearly targeted at an individual without naming them to cause drama, it’s a violation.
6. **Odious Behavior:** Do not make posts that are generally unpleasant, needlessly argumentative, or create a negative atmosphere that discourages constructive discussion. This is for posts that make the forums a worse place to be.This is an adult forum, so don’t penalize people just for swearing or using adult language or concepts.
Please evaluate the post and use the ‘evaluate_post’ tool to provide your structured analysis.in reply to: Place Messages #25246No that would be a bug.
in reply to: Guest Questions #25244There are still limitations yes.
I don’t believe they could be grabbed by the wild hunt.
They might be able to do some, I haven’t specifically checked.
I don’t think they can earn combat xp but probably can earn rpxp.Well the only two types of guests really are monsters and 63rd LTs.
If you mean LTs being locked to one or two boroughs is a pretty big negative.in reply to: Lieutenant Guests #25243You can’t reroll or negtrain on guests to prevent there being a way to get your guest xp/rpxp back into your account pool. I probably should work on reviewing that at some point but for the moment, that’s why that’s there. You will eventually get the opportunity to make a new lt guest though so even if you mess one up you can always delete and do it again later.
Yes it’s intended that you should be able to play an LT guest and your main character.
They’re intended to just rabble rouse on grid, basically their role is to help represent the 63rd and the threat they pose, so specifically to help 63rd controlled boroughs feel like scary places being run by fascist demons.
in reply to: Why is this forum such rubbish? #25242Because you touch yourself at night.
in reply to: Attractiveness questions #25241The colors just represent going over certain number thresholds like for the final score.
Some attractiveness penalties could bring down your max possible attractiveness like character standards mod, or being low tier.
in reply to: Linked Storyideas #25240Generally no, it is expected that each plot is it’s own story. You might continue the odd narrative thread, like re-use an NPC etc.
in reply to: Vampire Monstrosity #25239There’s no current lore that states that vampires sometimes completely lose control no, although people are free to RP that their particular vampire does, just that vampire biting is sometimes fatal regardless.
in reply to: Private Events #25238No, private events have no effect on anything really, they’re just a way to manage your private events.
